Very minutes flight options but they can get you to Chicago and then the wild is your oyster. They also have a restaurant onsite outside of security. That was a very pleasant surprise as it excellent even for a non airport restaurant. Food was fast and doesn't pit you at risk to miss a flight.

I've always said that this is one of the best airports to be in if your flight is delayed or cancelled. There are many restaurant options, from fast food and casual dine to nicer sit down restaurants. Shopping options abound! Everything from Minnesota themed shops to bookstores. There is a quiet seating area available, which is perfect if you need to make phone calls. Or maybe take advantage of it if you are just tired of noise and chaos. One of my favorite things about this airport is the easy availability of the golf carts for transportation. Whether you just have a short connection, or are traveling with a mobility challenged individual, these golf carts are incredibly helpful. The distances in this airport from one gate to another can be significant, and the gate agents can page a golf cart for you. The golf cart drivers are super helpful and friendly. They handle luggage with ease and are very knowledgeable about the airport.

I go there for the fuel which is much cheaper than anywhere around. They also have two courtesy cars so you can go into town for some great food. The distance from home is not that far so the fuel is a bargain. The terminal is also very nice for a rest stop.

After getting my license, I rented their 150 to visit friends in North Dakota and Wisconsin. I always enjoyed returning to Holman Field and I'm very happy that this airport is still in operation.

I just need to vent for a minute, while I'm currently STRANDED AT MSP…read more My EC Groome driver never showed! I am currently stranded at MSP. When I booked my return shuttle back to EC from MSP, I called Groome to verify that if I missed my 9:15P shuttle, that I could still get on the 10:45P shuttle. I was told yes, that flight delays happen all the time and that they will just put me on the 10:45P shuttle. Fast forward to today. My flight was delayed due to weather. I called Groome as soon as I was in the airport (this was around 9:30P), no answer, no answering machine, no answering service. I called Groome 7 times. Their automated message says that there is someone available to answer the phones until 10P... that's a load of crap. So I waited for the 10:45P shuttle. In the meantime, Groome Rochester showed up, and I asked that driver if the EC Groome driver would still show up, even if there were no registered rides for the 10:45P (I did tell this driver about missing my first shuttle due to flight delays). This driver said yes, that the EC Groome driver would be here for the 10:45P pick up, even if no one was registered for a pick up. So I waited. At 11:05, I gave up waiting for EC Groome (because I didn't feel safe being a pregnant woman completely alone in a parking area waiting for a shuttle that wasn't coming - what if something bad happened to me while waiting for the driver that was clearly not coming... does Groome have the liability insurance to cover that??). So I went back to the baggage claim area to call my husband and figure out how I was going to get home. Had someone from Groome bothered to answer their damn phone, and told me that they weren't coming to the 10:45P pick up, then I would have hopped on one of the hotel shuttles before they ended for the night, gotten a room for the night, and a rental car in the morning when things opened back up. This is absolute trash.

So we book a ride to MSP. Less than 12 hours prior to the ride Groome calls and cancels the…read moreshuttle. Then, they keep our money and will not refund. No refunds, credit only. We can't take a later shuttle because we will miss our flight. So now we are without a ride on short notice and they have our cash. I don't see how it's right they get to keep our money. Its a pretty run-of-the mill shack posing as an FBO, they have no fuel truck and lack the ability to move planes that have a tandem nose-wheel. They do have a fuel farm and a bathroom though, as well as a dubious internet connection and a really cute little beagle that follows the line guy around. It's a pretty fun little spot and they have all the things you need. If you buy fuel from them (any amount I think) they waive the service fees.
