This experience has been painful, expensive and a bit traumatic. The "expensive" part could've been so much worse but Dr. Yen did everything he could to help ease the blow and it was so very much appreciated. The one saving grace in all of this is the way that Dr. Yen has taken care of, not only me, but also the situation. He has been so attentive and empathetic. I know that it upsets him as much as it upsets me, to have had to endure the loss of two implants. Dr. Yen was the one that brought to attention the fact that I was on medication that had this dire effect. I just never thought to put the two together. He listens so attentively and addresses any and all concerns... not to mention the highest quality of expertise and skill that he embodies. I truly wish that every doctor in my life could give me the care that Dr. Yen does. And I have to mention the entire staff in the office. Everyone is so courteous and kind. We're also surprised and grateful that Dr. Yen, treated us like family, constantly trying to save us money, he tirelessly and patiently explaining to my husband, twice I think, how and why treating three different areas in one visit, saving at least $2,300 than what my husband's brother suggested better to split into three or more different visits. Dr. Yen called and checked on me @ 7:00 pm tonight, after he saw more patients after he extracted, cleaned, and bone grafted my #30 tooth, and cleaned #31 all done by 4:00 PM (in less than an hour), I am so impressed, he kept me informed of the different types of surgery procedures all throughout the surgery, I only felt very minimal pain from the local anesthesia needle, no pain, no swelling, no bleeding as far as I could tell, how's it possible? The lengthy instructions clearly stated to use ice packs, 10 mins on 10 mins off for first 24 hrs (3 packs were provided), then warm heat packs for next 24 hrs to break up swelling and minimize bruising, I tried for less than 30 mins while driving home post surgery, then stopped, since there's no need, no swelling, no bleeding, and no bruising at all. I am so thankful for Dr. Yen's incredible expertise, and Dr. Yen is so humble, he asked me how do I know he's done such an amazing job? I think it's quite self explanatory, when those possible bad/worse/worst scenarios are not happening to me, Dr. Yen has done a fantastic job! Right?

I used to go to chu and yang when they were in Orange and so did my family for many many years. I stopped going because they always found something in my mouth be it a cavity or a root canal that needed to be done. However, after one bad experience which I won't go into detail I decided to ignore my oral health due to fear of the dentist and ridicule. Fast forward ten years later I decided to see a new dentist... after my initial intake I was told I had only one cavity v.s the last time I saw chu and yang who stated I had several if not more on every tooth in my mouth. Someone please tell me how a well established dental office with pleasant and amazing staff is telling me I needed a root canal done and then some fillings, yet the new dentist I go to tells me I have one tiny cavity which would be dealt with after my deep cleaning? And I did not need any root canals as well? Something isn't right here and this has sat with me for many many days. I don't need a root canal. I don't have several if not more cavities per my previous chart... what is going on? Yes, the staff is amazing and well accommodating at least 10 years ago but...how can I have so many cavities? Yet my new dentist says I have one small tiny one? Was I being charged and put through unwanted procedures and mental strain? Sure seems like it. I want to give the benefit of the doubt but I also think people should have two opinions when seeing a dentist cause clearly the amount of work I needed to have done was very minimal v.s what was stated to me 10 years prior. And I'm saving so much more money v.s the hundreds if not thousands I had charged at Chu and Yang. In closing. My husband and I both made new-patient appointments because of the advertised $59 teeth cleaning…read more My husband went first and was told he needed a deep cleaning that cost $865, which I thought was outrageous. When I went the following week, the doctor told me I needed a routine cleaning. I expected to receive the $59 cleaning we had originally booked. Instead, the assistant told me she would ask if they could give me a deeper treatment as a one-time courtesy. I thought that was nice. She came back and told me they would not be doing any cleaning at all--yet I was still charged the $59 fee. So, to be clear: I paid $59 and received absolutely no teeth cleaning. This experience felt misleading and dishonest. Advertising a $59 cleaning, then charging the fee when no cleaning is performed, is unacceptable. After what happened with my husband's $865 treatment and then my experience, we will not be returning.

The person was extremely pushy and then I just heard a voicemail telling us the office wanted to charge $75 if my husband didn't show up on Monday. When my husband finally called this office back, Sarah casually mentioned his deep cleaning procedure would cost $700+ and if we're fine with that? And then proceeded to rush my husband into agreeing to that appointment because "they already booked for two hours." Then after I said we will not be ready to pay $700+, Sarah said "well then you can do half." What in the world? It sounded beyond shady. The whole interaction was absurd and unprofessional. I may be filing a complaint with BBB because it was very unprofessional the way this was handled. Both my husband and I currently have dental insurance. My husband does need deep cleaning but we were going to a previous office that had him do a regular cleaning more often to have him avoid the need for deep cleaning. This person would not even let me get a word in and in the end I had to tell her "excuse me you need to stop being pushy and let me talk. We are going to cancel that appointment." The dentist was good on previous visits. Also, Lorena is excellent as well. This person just left a terrible taste in our mouth (no pun intended). I hope they're able to find someone that helps patients feel comfortable and confident in the care they're going to receive and pay for instead of feeling pressured and treated like a price tag.
