Good Morning All! Normally I don't write bad reviews if I don't need to but this needs to be brought to attention. I used to go to chu and yang when they were in Orange and so did my family for many many years. I stopped going because they always found something in my mouth be it a cavity or a root canal that needed to be done. However, after one bad experience which I won't go into detail I decided to ignore my oral health due to fear of the dentist and ridicule. Fast forward ten years later I decided to see a new dentist... after my initial intake I was told I had only one cavity v.s the last time I saw chu and yang who stated I had several if not more on every tooth in my mouth. Someone please tell me how a well established dental office with pleasant and amazing staff is telling me I needed a root canal done and then some fillings, yet the new dentist I go to tells me I have one tiny cavity which would be dealt with after my deep cleaning? And I did not need any root canals as well? Something isn't right here and this has sat with me for many many days. I don't need a root canal. I don't have several if not more cavities per my previous chart... what is going on? Yes, the staff is amazing and well accommodating at least 10 years ago but...how can I have so many cavities? Yet my new dentist says I have one small tiny one? Was I being charged and put through unwanted procedures and mental strain? Sure seems like it. I want to give the benefit of the doubt but I also think people should have two opinions when seeing a dentist cause clearly the amount of work I needed to have done was very minimal v.s what was stated to me 10 years prior. And I'm saving so much more money v.s the hundreds if not thousands I had charged at Chu and Yang. In closing. Yes, Dr chu and yang are a great practice, but I can't help but think who else was told they needed work done when they truly didn't need it? I truly hope things have changed at the practice but note I will not be coming back. Thank you. read more

I came in with so much anxiety and embarrassment over the state of my teeth but the entire staff helped me feel calm and showed so much care. I appreciate how they explained things in a way I would understand and really ensured proper steps are taken and little-to-no out of pocket money is spent. Hands down the BEST dentists and staff here! Our family of 6 all loved and now miss their services as we have all moved out of state! We didn't live close to their offices when we lived in CA, but we didn't mind traveling the 45 minutes to get the best oral care, ever! Every year, twice a year, I visit Chu & Yang Dental to get my bi-annual teeth cleaning exam by Dr. Chu or Dr. Vic. They are seriously a great dental practice that care about their patients, and my entire family comes here for their dental care. My schedule as a graduate student has always been pretty crazy, but they are always able to work around my busy schedule to fit me in during school breaks. Quick Review 1st: - Doctor and staff were calm, thorough, and empathetic. - Reasonable prices (I paid out of pocket). - Clean, open floor plan that made me feel more at ease, like they had nothing to hide. - Overall visit was positive. My first time here. I had no choice but to find a dentist without having insurance or any recommendations from family or friends. One of my crowns came off and the gums looked horrible. I thought I needed extensive work done and I was nervous. I looked at the official website of Chu & Yang and could tell they took pride in their work. The Orange office was able to see me same day as a new patient on 2/7/20. I am a nervous talker and over share. The doctor and staff were calm and empathetic and didn't placate me. Best Dental Office Ever!! No kidding! Everyone is super friendly. Best dental experience. The 2 girls in the Front are amazing and super welcoming they make the process super easy (Cynthia & Joanna). Brenda the dental assistant is super friendly and very funny, she assisted me by doing my Invisalign Scan. I recommend this office if you want a long term dentist. Dr Vick, is so nice and educates the patient very well on why we need the procedure. Will be getting my Invisalign trays after only weeks from my scan today. Keep up the great work!!! read more

I have been going to Dr. Chu for a few years for regular cleanings as well as other dental procedures. They are a fantastic team. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful and they always make certain I'm comfortable and informed about whatever procedures they are performing. Despite having moved to LA, I still see them in their Orange office for all of my dental procedures. Most recently I had a "pinhole gum" surgery to repair a receding gum. While I'm a big baby when it comes to dental procedures, they took great care of me and were very patient with my fears. Other than pressure I felt during the procedure, they made me very comfortable and made certain I had enough numbness. I had very little pain post-op, and only required a day of tylenol and some icing. They provided me with very simple instructions, a phone number to call after hours if I had any pain or needed to speak to someone, and called me later in the day to check in on me and make sure everything was good to go. The dentists are very friendly, warm, and talented with what they do and I've had nothing but great experiences with the rest of the staff. I would highly recommend them. read more

Solved my problem with just adjusting bites. I did a filling and twice crowned and a root canal and the previous dentist still can not solved the problem. Dr. Paul Chu did it in 10 mins. I have had a hard time finding the right dentist due to my anxiety mixed with the extensive dental problems I have to address. My first consultation with Dr. Chu and everyone in the office was wonderful. They are 100% professional and take the time to listen to my concerns. At the risk of sounding disingenuous or like I'd been solicited to leave a positive review, I'll keep this brief because in the end, it's the quantity of positive reviews that matter and not the quality, right? That said, I can't recommend Dr. Chu and company enough. This is the first time in my life I've never felt a sense of dread visiting the dentist. Now that I think about it, it's probably because in all my visits with Dr. Chu, and the handful of procedures I've had, I don't recall experiencing any pain or prolonged discomfort. I have known Dr Chu for 15 years and I have to say that he is an amazing dentist! He is meticulous with his work and extremely gentle. He is a perfectionist who is always trying to give his patients the best treatment. Beyond this, Dr Chu is focused on helping patients and those less fortunate. I have been gong to Dr. Chu for 2 years. I have had really bad experiences with previous dentists over charging me, and doing procedures that were not necessary. When I went to Dr. Chu, my gums and teeth were not the best. I was told by a previous dentist, I needed gum surgery. Dr. Chu informed of a procedure called" Pin Hole". I was so excited to do it, to save my tooth and gum. He did the pin hole and my gum is no longer receding. In fact, it looks great, like there was nothing ever wrong with it. Welll this is very much over due , so here goes ... THIS DENTAL OFFICE IS THE BEST! I am someone who has needed a root canal for over 15 years. I hadn't seen a dentist in probably close to 5 years and after that last horrible experience I said I never would go to a Dentist again, but then a filling popped off my tooth and dang it I have to see a Dentist. Well the ladies where I worked highly recommended this office to me and said they were amazing of course with me being DEATHLY afraid of the dentist I hesitated at first but I had to do it I didn't want to lose my tooth. So I made an appointment, all I can say is I was shaking all the way there, I was so scared I was sweating and ready to throw up! When I walked in the girls that welcomed me were so kind and welcoming I thought ok so far so good the first Dr I saw was really nice checked my teeth and told me I really needed that root canal, (sigh) ok, made my appt with Dr Vic . Came in for my appt my stomach was turning and yes yes I totally started crying from total fear (sorry Dr Vic and Brenda). Everyone told me "don't worry Dr Vic has gentle hands " OMG well let me tell you Dr Vic has MAGIC HANDS! I didn't feel a thing! Brenda his assistant is awesome her little head tapping thing distracted me but yes ladies and gents, Dr Vic is awesome and really patient. I love going to the Dentist. I had the fortunate opportunity to have Dr. Chu perform a pin hole technique gum surgery on my teeth due to my history of recession and abrasion. The other option were to have a graft from my palate placed on my teeth with recession and abrasion. I opted to have the pin hole technique because I did not want to have two areas in my mouth worked on. The results were great and my healing took about a month.
