This meant my ultrasound would be covered 100% by our insurance.. I was looking forward to not paying one more bill. I get a call at 3:45pm on December the 29th from a less than sympathetic office member who tells me that my appointment was canceled due to the ultrasound tech being sick. I asked was there not another Ultrasound tech available, they said no. This was odd because it is a large practice. So now I'm asked if I want to reschedule after the Holiday. Well that would be fine but I thought now I'm responsible for what my insurance won't pay. I wrote a Google review about this and obviously upset the office Manager, Charlene. She called and mentioned that the Marketing department saw my review. I requested from her that since I did not receive 24 hrs notice (as they require from their patients), would they pay or write off the 30% of what my insurance won't cover. I was told absolutely not and if they were to do it for me they would have to do that for everyone. So although I have been a patient for 10 years and not defaulted on one bill, this was the answer I received. Even though they canceIed on me, less than 24hrs, they put their staffing issues and cost onto their patients. I really felt like I was just a number to them. Now I know why the office staff all have rude attitudes, it comes right from the top. Absolutely no Loyalty to their patients at all. Oh , then that same office manager sends a letter giving me the same pathetic answer in writing too. So bottomline, skip this office if a caring attitude is important to you. Not sure if the doctors know how their patients are valued. Btw... Long phone hold times too.

Terrible experience at this crazy expensive new age breast imaging facility that I prepaid $750…read morefor. 1) After having no problem getting in for an appointment I had to wait one month (no joke) for my QT imaging results. I called the office to check what was holding everything up. The delay was for no other reason than there was a problem with either the technology or the back office operation...? Left me speechless while I was a wreck waiting a month. Also made me worry about the validity of the results. 2) Then when I got a call from Dr. Karney (not the actual radiologist for this price!) the first thing she asked was could she record my call because she was "training someone." Who? No clue. Seemed so insensitive. I didn't even know what would be discussed on the call and found this very off putting given the sensitivity of the situation with a first time doctor. She isn't even a doctor I've even ever spoken with before. 3) She basically said that her radiologist agreed with the first radiologist from another institution. But that report was vague and the reports greatly differed based on locations of the masses, and other important details. Like she said the mass was solid and yet also said it was filled with fluid. Those are opposite. The report looks and reads very different from a typical radiology report for breast imaging so other doctors didn't know what to make of it. 4) I called the office right back after I got off the phone with the doctor with a follow up question and no one answered. No one. Do they work from home? Do they not get their messages of urgency in a timely way? How could the office have closed 1 minute after our call? Especially given the seriousness of the situation? And no one called me back. 5) the radiologist might be the best in the world but why didn't she call me, and why didn't the office offer a biopsy option? There was no clear direction as to the recommended follow up. Report Just said to "follow up with your doctor." Huh? Moreover the radiologist doesn't solely focus on the breast and she is also on the staff of Lurie's Children's Hospital. Just seems odd that she is not solely a breast specialist given the state of the art new wave technology. She also works with kids. 6) When I asked that images be sent to me they sent them but only by standard mail. Not rush. This clearly felt like an emergency and one that would benefit from rush mail as I try to now make all the other appointments. Anyway, I went directly to a famous in-person surgical radiologist for an additional workup in Chicago. Although Vitality found 3 solid suspicious masses that required biopsies the other radiologist who did an actual ultrasound found one small watery cyst that did not require biopsies or anything even further and just a routine follow up in one year. Theirs all said, I can't go through this experience ever again.
