I went over and found a pair that I liked, sat with one of their SALESPEOPLE and was told that after insurance my TOTAL would be $400. I paid for the sunglasses and asked for them to be sent to the Marianna office because it was closer for me to pick up. I was sent or received a message a couple to a few weeks later that my sunglasses were ready for pick up. I went to the Marianna office and they told me they did not receive them they were still in the Dothan office, I was going away that weekend and wanted the new glasses so I drove to Dothan and picked them up. Fast forward a couple months I get a bill for $1100 for my glasses. Make a call to the Dothan office and they say it was never submitted to the insurance company and said they would submit it. Now 6 months later I get a bill for $92 for sales tax on the glasses that I paid $400 for. These guys play a lot of games with their billing and making the numbers look better than they are! I guess the first girl doesn't know how to add the tax to my "TOTAL" before the sale. The other people don't know how to add my insurance to the sale and the other people don't know how to ship the glasses to Marianna like I asked before they tell me they are there. Not very professional! Typical salespeople!! BEWARE!! For me NEVER AGAIN!! TOO much stupidity for a pair of glasses!!

I have used Eye Center South previously and had no problems, in fact, I had a great experience. However, this time proved to be a different story: (1) I was misled in what the results of the lens implants should be (how well I would be able to see after the implants), (2) the review of past history, current tests, and results of the surgery were ignored, (3) there were not follow-ups at the office the day after each surgery, only a phone call from a staff member (4) the CRNA made rude comments just prior to surgery and the doctors made rude comments during follow-up visits, (5) there was a good size skin tear on the end of my nose when I awoke from the 2nd cataract/implant surgery-this was totally avoidable-there is NO reason for it other than being too aggressive in pulling the tape off, and (6) the price for lenses was $920/lens higher than what other local ophthalmologists charge. **The positive is that the nurses and receptionists were professional and helpful.

I highly recommend using another facility!!! Not even one star but it made me do it to post the…read morereview. I went into the office with my elderly mother a few weeks ago for a consult on cataract surgery. I waited in the waiting room room until she was done. I noticed a few agitated customers but wasn't my problem so I blew it off. My mother was scheduled for surgery so we did the surgery then immediately left the surgery center and went to the office site for the dr to check her. I made no pit stops on the way between the surgery center and the dr office. I am parking and the receptionist calls and says how much longer until you arrive? I said well I'm trying to park and we will be in. I walk in before my mother(she's still sluggish from anesthesia or whatever they gave her). The receptionist doesn't say hi how was surgery nothing to greet in a friendly manner. She says"Ms Pace" I said yes ma'am she says" you have a balance of 34$ when will that be paid". I said well can't it wait until we are leaving I mean I just parked and ran in to tell you she was here. My mom gets called back. The nurse and dr were great. I go out before her to pull the car under the awning at the door to pick her up and retrieve my credit card to pay the balance because I said I would at check out. I walk back in to the check out receptionist being loud with my mom and the other receptionist yelling at her saying I would pay at check out. I had my credit card in hand to pay the bill when I came back in. My intentions were to pay it until I heard the harassing going on. My mom had no clue because she was still drunk on meds when we originally got there. This is not appropriate. This is the poorest customer service I have ever seen in a medical facility. You work in the medical field and have no empathy for the patients coming in and out. My mother had just paid the $240 co pay for the surgery. She Had no clue she a had balance for a test that insurance didn't pay for. After I seen the way they treated her less than two hours from having a procedure done there was no way I was paying. That $34 can wait. You have elderly people coming in and out of that office daily. I would bet my life 90% of those people are on fixed incomes. But there had to be an approval given to let the bill slide until she returned for a follow up from her procedure. These patients are dispensable and replaceable to this office. The check out receptionists walked away from me when I put her in her place to continue yelling from an office in the back of the building. As a postmaster, I would never allow my front end workers to be so rude and lack so much empathy for my customers. And you shouldn't either. I hope they don't treat their mother the way mine was treated. A smile and how are you today goes a long way. I will make sure that every employee of the usps knows not to use this place because your front desk people are awful humans. Do better with your front desk positions!!! Hire people that want to work and love their job. Not these crabs in the sand that want to bite everyone that walks through the door. These elderly people deserve respect.

The surgery was smooth, recovery seamless, and my vision improved significantly. Plus, Dr. Kelley's expertise isn't the only thing easy on the eyes! Highly recommend for his skill, compassion, and stellar results. If you need ophthalmological care, he's the one to see--literally!

Dr. Hornsby examined me. I told the woman that was supposed to assist me that they are not what I wanted, so she told me that they could substitute those with regular precription lens. All I had to do was wait until the replacement glasses came in and they would call me to bring in my own frames and the refit would take about an hour. Well, they did call me and they prepared the regular lens to fit my frame. When I sat down to try the glasses on, the same woman sat down accross from me and immediately accused me of cussing and told me that my conduct was not allowed in the store. I was totally shocked by her accusation and asked where that came from because I did not cuss at anyone at any time and she told me that 2 other employees heard me and told her. My wife was with me and she said I did not cuss at all. The woman then told me that the store has microphones and that she would listen to hear what I said. Well, she never got back to me on that and the new glasses are totally useless because when I put them on, everything was distorted and blurry. I told her that and she said that I just had to get used to them. Get used to them, have you ever had to get used to a pair of prescription glasses? I'm 87 years old and a retired, decorated U.S. Navy veteran and I have had dozens of prescription glasses in my life and never had to GET USED TO THEM. I also have never been treated so badly at any store in my entire life. The woman that said I was cussing and assisted me was very rude to say the least. She would not listen long enough for me to tell her what the problem was with the glasses. Now I'm out $533 and no glasses. I bought a pair of Walmart READERS for about $12 and can read and see better then what I got at this place. PLEASE, don't go to this store for anything.
