First I paid for a new Furnace, AC unit, and tankless water heater. After the install I found out instead of installing the SER 16.2 I paid for they installed a 15.4 instead at my house. Both my father and I were told we had sign up for the service contract and that they would service our equipment for free. In the beginning it seemed like a great deal. I also had my water main break and that was all this initial call was for. I was able to fix the main break on my own and did not need the service. It took Whitney so long that they had already installed the AC and furnace but not fixed the water. When I told Matt I didn't need he stated he had all his profit wrapped in that portion and that I would need to pay another 4k... My father had an AC and Furnace. They did not give him the de-humidifier he paid for because the install tech had a dull drill bit and inadequate tools, it took him 4+ hours to drill through the wall. My father offered a better bit and drill, the employee refused. SO he did not get what he paid for either. Fast forward to the after the first winter and my fathers AC is not working. WHiteny comes out and tells him he has a leak, service plan expired (even though they never came out for wither of us) and he would need to pay them. He then called the office and spoke with the office manager who stated he would not have to pay. Later I call I have to my service completed that I paid for at install (more than $4350 after the additional extorted $4000. ) just to find out my service plan expired and I also will need to pay after they completed the service, not before. I call the manager explain the situation let them know I am not going to pay, they say that's totally understandable, the AC unit should not be leaking when barely a year old. THIS WHOLE TIME THEY BILL ME FOR EVERYTHING. My dads service, mine, just everything. I call ask them for the 10th time to straighten out our accounts, explained again the entire situation to Margot. She says she will fix it, and talk with the higher ups and get this resolved. Instead she then Billed my father for services from MY house and his house! This company is hot pile of crap and is the biggest mess I have ever seen. If they continue to harass us over their fraudulent charges and business practices, we will see them in court. You sold me a 16.2 and installed a 15.4 thinking you were slick. You lied about your service plan, and over charges customers because your employees had poor tolls and improper equipment (Install tech tried to drill through a 12" wall with a dull bit and dead right angle battery drill). There was no sense of being pushed or manipulated. From our research before the meetings we had a number of questions as to various options and they were all answered clearly and in as much detail as we needed. It was also clear that the company was committed to furthering the growth of solar in its own right, not just to further their sales, which matched our own values as well. In fact, there were some parts of their service (such as monitoring the system) which were included at no additional charge while other companies were going to charge a fee. Once we committed to their proposal for a ground-mounted array, which was our preference as well, things went very smoothly. They gave us a clear overview of how the process would go and someone was always available whenever we had questions. We have dealt with several different people over time and not one has been less than completely helpful and invariably friendly. Shortly before the first day of installation there was a problem getting the exact panels that had been quoted. Absolute Solar arranged substitute panels which were a slightly higher grade at no additional cost. We even got a little bump in productivity as a result! The installation itself went off without a hitch and on schedule (or if there was one then they just fixed it and we never knew about it). When the final approval came through from Consumers Energy we literally flipped a switch and we were in business. It has now been over a year and a half and the benefits have been very clear from the start. Our first three months bills decreased by a total of $400. Now,18 months later, we have not paid an electric bill in over a year and still have well over $300 in credit to get us through the rest of the winter to the more productive months when we can accumulate credit again. We will be converting our remaining gas appliances--particularly the stove--to electric over time for more savings and there even is enough of a "cushion" for an electric vehicle in the near future. We have been thrilled with our new situation and look forward to the continued benefits of going solar! We are equally certain that Absolute Solar will be there for us whenever we have a question or concern.
