This will be the LAST time we use Richie's Body Shop! They have had my vehicle for 3 weeks and it was supposed to be ready on the 16th. I called Wed. the 14th to check on it and was told it will be ready on the 16th!!!!!! by the male employee in the office. (that is not the description I wanted to use). I walk in at 4:30 to pick up my vehicle and the female employee says, "oh it's not ready" and I said, "what?" Now they say it won't be ready until the 21st. Well I have already returned my rental so I want MY vehicle. He tells me I can't have it. THEY DO NOT CARE IF THEY INCONVIENCE THEIR CUSTOMERS, (because of their negligence, slow pace, incompetent work, lack of communication, and basic poor attitude). THEY DO NOT KEEP YOU INFORMED OF PROGRESS. (even though I was receiving texts saying it still should be finished on time) The woman said those texts were not from the body shop, even though they said Richie's Body Shop. THIS PLACE HAS BECOME A CESSPOOL. INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES ALL AROUND! The last time they fixed my vehicle the tech kept putting the motion sensors in backwards and couldn't figure out why they were not working correctly. This is the most mind-numbingly slow and careless body shop I have ever had the dissatisfaction of working with. I myself was an Autobody Technician for over three years, and I know how repair times work, so I can inform you exactly why you shouldn't choose Richie's Body Shop for your repairs. I was recently in a rear-end collision, of which was my fault. This occurred on November 15th, 2025. The front end of my 2025 Toyota Camery LE was moderately damaged. The hood, bumper, bumper brackets, grille, and passenger-side headlight needed replaced, along with minor body repair on the passenger-side fender and a few miscellaneous brackets and sensors behind the grille. This is a standard repair job for any typical body shop and shouldn't require more than three weeks for repair. I dropped my car off at Richie's Body Shop on November 17th, 2025. Upon writing this review, I received my car about three days ago. During the time they had my car, they pushed my estimated completion date back four separate times. At first, they estimated the date to be December 8th. Then it was pushed to December 19, then January 2nd, then the 8th. While it is the holidays and times are definitely affected, this is absolutely inexcusable for any shop. Just like your typical body shop, the estimator overlooked about half of the damage on my car when doing the initial estimate, therefore giving the insurance company an incomplete quote. Because of this, once the real autobody technician examined the damage, they realized that many more parts on the car need replaced, and therefore a supplement is made. This naturally extends the completion date by about two weeks and forces your car to sit on the lot and collect dust in the meantime. Such mistakes are easily prevented when the estimator takes time to examine the car instead of half-heartedly glancing at it. On January 1st, 2026, I called and spoke to one of their representatives. Understandably, they did not know what stage my car was in, so they had to check. Then they informed me that the car hasn't even been painted. This is after they have had it for a month and a half. Shortly after the call ended, I received a text message telling me the date was pushed back ANOTHER week. On January 7th, I called once more to check on my car and make sure that I will be able to pick It up on the 8th. The polite representative excused herself to ask the mechanic. I was placed on a brief hold while she checked. She then got back to me and asked if she could call me back in a bit. I said OK, then about 30 minutes later I received the call. She said that the mechanic noticed that 2 parts were never ordered or installed onto the car, and that they could not move forward with my repair until the parts were delivered. I asked why these 2 parts were overlooked not once, but twice, and she couldn't give me more than a simple excuse and informed me that they had ordered the parts with express delivery, and they would be at the shop the next morning. I asked her how much longer the repair would take, and she couldn't give me a direct answer. I then became cross and told her that I would be there at 4:30pm on the 8th to pick up my car whether they had it ready or not. She could not promise that the car would be ready at that time, but at this point I didn't care. As promised, I arrived at Richie's body shop on the 8th at 4:30pm to pick up my car. They did indeed have it ready and I was able to pick it up. I was given the keys and the ability to look over/inspect my car. About 30 seconds into my inspection, I noticed an obvious and disturbing chemical stain on the black plastic piece covering the connection between my side mirror and driver door. The stain stretched across this piece and onto the rubber seal on the windshield. I then went back inside and told the lady about the stain, and she suggested I find the estimator. I found the estimator as he was walking to his car to go home. I signaled for him to come over, and he rolled his eyes but obliged. Upon seeing the stain, he then took my car back into the shop and had it fixed. After all of this, I was finally able to get my car back on the 8th of January 2026. The estimator has made it quite clear that he doesn't give a single care about me or my car. His sour attitude and negligence have caused me great inconvenience and frustration. Throughout this process, I haven't heard a single word from him. While the customer service representatives are extremely polite and easy to work with, this does not excuse the poor quality and negligence shown at Richie's Body Shop. Personally, I believe I would have had more luck fixing the car myself. God only knows why I have heard rumors that this is a decent body shop, because I can assure you that you would have better luck asking the homeless man beside of Waffle House to fix your car for you. read more

So far things have been pleasant over all the only issue I have had is they are extremely slow. After talking to folks around town (I am new to the area) they seem to have a reputation of being one of the slowest shops in the area. I was told by one young lady on the phone my Jeep was basically back together and they needed about a week to get it aligned and wrapped up. I called today and was told it could be another few weeks until it's done. The issue is it's been over 2 month long ( which I was told 1 month is all it would take), and it sounds like it will be closer to 2.5-3 months before it's completed. I don't know what the hold up is really if it's them or my insurance company but either way I am abit salty now since I have been paying for a vehicle I can't drive. **+*I will update this to let you all know what goes down and my final opinion on things. ALERT! ALERT DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! They kept my car over two weeks, lied constantly about the progress blaming the insurance company. Day I went to pick it up it was still barely finished. There were items on Bill THEY DID NOT DO SUCH AS DETAIL INTERIOR- they were supposed to clean the carpets and they clearly didn't even vacuum the car! They lie and cut corners every step! When I called them on the carpet and said it was "shit" work they did the manager Jim proceeded to tell me not to use profanity because his daughter was in his office. I told him how was I supposed to know am I psychic? All I said was shit and he proceeded to rant at me with much, much worse profanity, threw my wallet across the room and clenched his fists as if to hit me and put his chest up to mine like a Neanderthal and got in my face. I attempted to de-escalate the situation by paying my deductible and going outside he proceeded to follow my using the F word calling me names and using homophobic slurs towards me. I told him I was going to write a review about my experience and he basically said go ahead no one will care... because basically insinuating I'm gay and people in this area wont care that he abused me. He repeatedly mocked me and asked me if Why I was sensitive in a mocking tone. It is 2020 and it is a shame people like this still feel they can bully, malign, and harass people because of their own incompetence. I called the police too, but in Shelby, NC that has never been much help. No one should feel like they can't stand up for themselves for any reason. I'm sure Jim would not have pulled this if I were a straight male. I wonder who else he picks on that he feels is "les than him." At any rate this behavior is totally unacceptable especially in the workplace between a business manager and a customer. Btw Lisa K I feel you they did the same to me kept telling me my car was ready, inferior work, they couldn't even vacuum it when they were paid for interior detailing... an 8 year old could do better work! UPDATE -on 3.6.20 my insurance company directed me to a local dealership to get the headlight adjusted that Richies installed brand new because it pointed to the ground at night. *I would not select a star if that was a possibility.* My vehicle is currently at a certified jeep repair center for a complete rework of this body shop's workmanship. I learned my lesson before things REALLY got out of hand (hopefully with no latent surprises?) My vehicle was at this shop for two weeks. The damage was mostly the front passenger door and barrier. I was told on three different occasions that my vehicle was "ready-to-go." The first time I was notified, it was obvious that the work was rushed and it was not QC inspected. The body work quality was inferior. The new door sat out of the frame about a quarter inch, all the way around! The paint/blending was unsightly and had serious orange peel. All topped with a mis-matched door handle. Not to mention, the damaged side mirror was not replaced and put back on the door. I refused the repair. Assured that things would be corrected, I proceeded to entertain them for round 2 of 3. Three business days later, I was asked to come check out the body work and paint again. They said the mirror and door handle weren't available immediately and it would be a couple days for delivery. Round 2 turned out to be another diaster. My husband accompanied me for this inspection. Suddenly the tone changed. The shop representative wanted to get the paperwork so he could be certain about what was completed. You aren't sure? Reassuring, right? During a discussion about the paint/blending work from round 1, the representative mentioned that he agreed the first paint job was bad. He joked saying that he initally thought that it was the situation of "a woman being particular about her car" until he actually got to look at it for himself. I know! Wow! Completely unprofessional... to say the least. Women who are apparently "particular" about their cars should probably NOT expect to be taken seriously. If all of that wasn't enough, he proceeded to admit that the work was rushed and that he had not completed a final QC inspection of the vehicle before contacting me the first time. He thought that someone else already looked over it. After a line of questioning, he revealed that he had only been doing this job for about a year. All of this really gives the impression that quality and thoroughness is at the top of the list. Ultimately, the door shell was still not right. The barrier needed more work. The paint needed more work. Get the idea? I rejected the repair for the second time. Right now, this is all hind sight. I should have tallied the red flags and realized was happening. In the midst of it all, I demanded that they make this right and to quite wasting my time. I insisted that I was not interested in good enough. The shop representative shook my hand and looked me in the eye as he said that he would "go over it with a fine tooth comb" before he contacted me again. I was in for a treat. Two days later, which was Friday, I got a call at 4:15 pm that my car was ready. The shop closes ~5:30. I went the following Monday after work. I state clearly again...I AM CURRENTLY GETTING A COMPLETE REWORK AT A DIFFERENT BODY SHOP. Round 3 was the most surprising. I was outside with the shop representative and the owner. I didn't even get the decency of the owner to introduce himself to me since this was our first in-person interaction. I find that odd, especially given all the trouble I experienced with the repairs. Instead, when I pointed out how bad things still were and that I wasn't going to accept the vehicle, the owner said that "this is as good as I can get it." The owner was rude to me, raised his voice and made me feel uncomfortable. The only option I was given was the key to my car. I definitely hoped for the best. I gave the shop 3 opportunities to get it right. The shop damaged the interior of my car because it was completely covered with body repair dust. I would NOT recommend this body shop. I am getting a COMPLETE REWORK of this body shop's workmanship. I cannot believe how BAD my experience was dealing with this local body shop. Don't gamble! read more

I developed a dent in the left rear of my mocha bronze Buick. Everyone I dealt with at Richie's was professional, polite (even the owner). After looking at the area of repair they gave me a return date of 9-5-17 to start repair. When I arrived there on 9-5-17 they called Enterprise to pick me up. The body shop kept my vehicle for 7 days. When I went to pick up, I knew where the dent was, but I couldn't find it...lol. The area was smooth, paint blended in perfect.
