Called and gave them my deposit, and they told me they would call back when they got the battery in which was supposed to be a day. Never called me and I had to call them days later to find out it already arrived. After finally finding a time to come in, they said they can't get it done in time even though I was told it could be and would only be 30 minutes. Left my laptop there and came the next day excited for it to be fixed only to find out they got the wrong battery. Not a reliable place to get things fixed at at all. read more

RIP OFF!! UNETHICAL!! I brought my laptop in for repair. They insisted that I purchase a "Dell" charger (although there were lots of comparable products available at other stores and online for significantly less). They sold me a USED Dell charger for $95. I brought it home and it did not work. I made the mistake of returning to them - They charge me another $95 to repair the plug on my laptop related to "charging" and then gave it back to me with a different used charger that wasn't even manufactured by Dell. I returned a third time and they said that the internal battery on my laptop needed to be replaced for another $59. I just received my laptop back today and it does not hold a charge AT ALL!! They are UNETHICAL!! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID!! read more

Lines through my screen less than 24 hours after replacement. When I brought it back the employee got so hostile he had to be removed by the manager. They honored no warranty. The repair cost 200 dollars. So they basically stole 200 dollars from me, and that guy should not be helping the public, ever. read more

I had purchased a new Motorola Edge 5G uw back in August and cracked the screen the second day I had it. I called a couple retailers that accept the Verizon insurance and they said that they couldn't get a screen for Edge. I went to Richmond geeks and they said that they could get a screen by the following day. So I left my phone with them. The next day the associate calls and apologized because after assembling my phone while replacing the screen, the touchscreen didn't work. She explained that this was an issue with the screen. And that she would have another screen the next day. I explained to her that I needed a phone for personal reasons and so she gave me a loaner phone for the evening. Which was an extremely good gesture of good faith. I received a call the next day informing me that my phone was ready. When I went to the store to pick it up I had also ordered a tempered glass screen protector for a few extra $$ and for my troubles the associate let me have the screen protector for free for turning a 90-120 minute job into a 2 day job. Very pleased with customer service and expertise here. Dropped my iPhone 7 when out of case and the face cracked. Rode it out for a while but today the screen stopped functioning. Richmond Geeks saved the day! I initially went to the Batteries Plus down the street, but they had no one trained to fix a 7 screen tonight. I'm grateful that they referred me here! I got here at 20 til 7 and figured they wouldn't be able to perform the service tonight since they closed at 7 but they graciously offered to do the work anyways. The price wasn't as low at BP, but they did a great job and were super friendly and accommodating so I don't mind having to shell out an extra 20 bucks. read more

There was a miscommunication about what I needed for my computer (there was a delay in the start-up, and it updated repeatedly), they thought I was ok with it being completely wiped clean to "start over" - but I hadn't backed it up (probably something I should have known to do). I had all my photos for my 8 year olds entire life and my Master Degree papers and projects; needless to say I was DEVASTATED. They worked very hard and did everything they could and RECOVERED everything (it took several weeks). Then they didn't even charge me! What a wonderful and sweet gesture. Walked in and got a fast, friendly and free diagnosis for my boyfriend's broken iPhone 5 rear camera. For just $55, they replaced the entire camera with new hardware and its looking, and working, great. We even decided to have a new tempered glass screen protector installed for only $20 more (he's prone to dropping--and breaking--anything expensive!) They were nice, but that's were it stopped. I broke my phone screen and I went to them to get it fixed. The first screen left blue and white spots on it. So I went back and asked for another one. The second one did the same. So I asked for a refund, which they gave me after putting back a cracked screen on (which surprisingly didn't give me the blue stuff...later on that). I went straight to fruit fixed in Carytown and got a screen fixed there. It's as good as new now. The blue spots were from using a non apple screen (a third party). Fruit Fixed is one of the only stores in Richmond (aside from Apple) that uses Apple screens. They are nice, and seem helpful with other things. Just don't go for an iPhone screen replacement. read more

I recently took my computer back due to a faulty repair on their behalf. In their system there was no record of the service that they performed despite me having a record on my charge card. Excuses were given that they couldn't access tickets prior to May yet they were able to find a work for me from December. The man I spoke to was rude and not willing to help rectify the situation. He left me sitting at the counter as I waited for a reply from my husband - he walked out the door. I then had to ask the man in the back if he could help me. They wanted to charge me again to repair the faulty part they installed. I was constantly questioned as to why I had not come in until now and I aimply states that I was not comfortable going out since mid March due to. COVID-19. I even had to ask this man to put on a mask. Our experiences at Richmond Geeks has been frustrating - they replaced our battery and our computer still didn't work properly. Next they persistently told my husband that we had the wrong charger. It was the one that came with the computer. Next they said our charging port was bad so we paid for that service and part. Since the. Our computer still will not charge or run correctly when plugged in. Their customer service was awful. I will never recommend them or use their services read more

I Phone 6 Plus wasn't working due to the charge port being dirty. The guy took it too the back ...came back in like 3 min and plugged in a charger and it was good to go .. for free. I wouldn't even give them one star. They did a horrible job at replacing my iPhone screen. They said they use top quality replacement screens but it's a lie. Walked in with a cracked iphone screen. I waited in the store while they replaced it and got it back an hour later. I'm not sure what the other person is talking about in regards to the home screen sticking up higher than the glass. I did not have that problem. The store is very mom and pop style. What you see is what you get vibe. I put a screen protector on my phone (that I got there) and haven't had any issues with it being dirty or having trouble cleaning as previous reviewer stated. I was charged $100 for wrong diagnosis, they did not fix the problem and then I had to listen to a gratuitous speech to throw away the laptop. I found Richmond Geeks online, and saw they they handle battery replacements, as well as screen, camera, and speaker replacements. I went in on a Friday afternoon, and I was in and out in under 10 minutes, and it only cost $45. The battery is Apple brand, and is guaranteed for 3 months. The men working didn't seem all that professional and when I got my phone back I saw they had made calls from it. The replacement glass for my iPhone is not very good. It's not as thick as Apple glass and the home button sticks up past the glass. The glass is also impossible to keep clean. I have to take it out of the case and clean the screen every day just from using the screen. read more
