horrible place , stay away , they run tests to rack up the bill and never call you back with results , they talk to you like you are an idiot and say they had tried several times , i am fed up with this unprofessional place . Richmond Primary Care is a very caring office, they offer lots of service wait time varies from short to very long but they give you the time you need and care a lot about you. They offer flexible hours and are there 6 days a week. They start early in the morning and are available for all your needs. Please ask for Margie she is very nice and accommodates your requests. The office is VERY poorly run, just frustrating to deal with. My parents were with the office for over 5 years. Dr. Tirado is nice but nice doesn't necessarily mean you care anymore. He seems tired now or just not interested, my suggestion is to get staff who care and a manager who will make your place run efficiently. You do not see that many patients to have the chaos that you do. I've seen your schedule, you may need one or two people dedicated to answering phones in the back and then the overflow of calls to go to your front desk staff, this is a big hint for your manager. You need to start to care about your patients, believe me it's easy to do. I switched my parents from Richmond Primary Care because of the ridiculous hold time, almost 15 minutes on hold just waiting for an appointment. A couple of girls here are helpful, Jeanette and Margie, but they have a few new people who give major attitude. Over an hour waiting in the waiting room with my elderly dad, who had an appointment, he wasn't a walk-in. If you ask, how long will it be before your seen, the front desk personnel, gave you major attitude for asking, front desk is totally atrocious. Medical Assistants (like Gianna) who don't even greet or say hello. I do believe the owner of the practice, owes it to his patients to look at these reviews and ensure his patients are well taken care of. When you have a family member running your practice regardless that she's an RN with management underneath her belt doesn't mean she knows how to manage a practice, it's obvious she has poor, VERY POOR, management skills. She needs to be there to see what's going on, ask your employees are they overwhelmed and they will tell you yes. It starts with staff, clean up the horrible 80% of staff that you have, it's not hard to find people who give a sh*t about your patients. Your patients deserve better care because they will leave, we did. Mt. Sinai is starting to come into Staten Island, they have great care, staff are awesome, they care. They make it a priority for staff to give the proper service because this is a business to them, as well. They need to give great service because without patients, they would never exist. I transferred my parents care to Mt. Sinai and I couldn't be more pleased, my parents were a bit hesitant to leave Dr. Tirado because elderly people are not used to change, but they are EXTREMELY happy with their new doctor. Mt. Sinai's system makes it helpful for me, living a busy life, that I can take care of my parents care through a user friendly patient portal. My parents can call the office too and know they are getting a friendly voice and people that are paying attention to them and what they need. I'm hoping Dr. Tirado's manager takes this review seriously, and not take offense, it's a wake up call to do your job or throw in the towel and get someone who knows what they are doing. it's a shame how your office treats patients and nothing is done about it. I worked on Staten Island for 12 years as a pharm rep. In that time, I have gotten to know just about every primary care physician on the island, week in and week out. I know who is progressive, who is more conservative, and I definitely know who takes good care of their patients. Dr. Tirado and Dr. Kirpan have styles very different from one another. That said, they both take excellent care of their patients and are independent, yet still collaborative, decision makers. They did not always select the meds I carried. When I have a medical question, Dr. Tirado is one of two doctors on the island who I always still trust for sound advice, even now that I do not travel there anymore. I would send family members to RPC confidently. read more

tried to contact the office 0n sept 1st and sept 2 no one answers this is usually the case.TH although the office staff is friendly and courteous,the phones ring off the hook no one answers. also any time at pharmicy tries to call regarding a refill of a perscription they claim they get no results. this office needs an office manager who will upgrade the customer service. phones should not be ring more than 3 times before someone answers or it goes to voicemail the phone should not ring 15 or 20 times. this is an ongoing problem that dr tirado has been made aware of,but there has been no improvment.i guess he doesnt choose to resolve it. The only reason I give this office 3 stars is that I love Dr. Tirado and the rest of his staff here. It is clean, but the nurse staff could use some work. Granted, I usually have appts later in the day, so maybe I'm seeing the result of a long day with cranky sick patients. Regardless, if you aren't prepared to be friendly and work with people, don't get a job doing exactly that. You will wait a while before being seen, appt times don't seem to make a difference here. But if you are looking for a Dr who will actually care about you at the end of the day, Tirado is your man. read more

Dr. Tirado is appreciated. As for some of the staff, gave them enough chances. When you give people the chance to 'not' make the same mistakes again and again, and they still do, 'and' they lack any consideration to at least apologize, again- Rebuke their behavior. Incidents witnessed: -In November 2018, my elder relative was asked by Dr.Tirado, to have her chest examined by another male physician. She was told by the receptionist, to get unclothed and to go wait in examining room to be seen by male physician. Because she wasn't ok with that, she asked the receptionist, to please have 1 out of the 8 female staff to be present in room during the examination. The receptionist refused and told her: "No, we're busy here. The male physician is a nice guy, just go get unclothed and wait in that room." Thankfully I was there. Ten minutes later, the same thing also happened to another elder woman. Her daughter was told to be seated in the waiting room. You could see how apprehensive she was. Again, the receptionist refused to have a female be in the room to be present there. I said to the young lady: Just go in that room where your mother is, I did that, so can you. -Once, I tried to call to follow up about an appointment. Phone kept ringing and automated music was on for extended amount of time. When the receptionist finally answered, instead of taking accountability, and instead of simply apologizing for the long wait, she said an excuse: "It's because Dr. Keith left." -In August 2019, just three months after I'd already gotten a full check up by Dr. Tirado, and everything was fine...I got a call from the receptionist, she said: "Um we were just calling, we want you to come in for like, a well visit check." I said: "What is that, for a what?" Receptionist: "A well visit check, check up." I said: "Even though I was just there in May?" Receptionist: "Yeahhh" I said: "Is there a reason why?" Receptionist: "Truthfully I don't knowww. Hold on." (Automated music on) "We got a note from your insurance company, they want you to come in for a well visit." I said: "I've never heard of that." Receptionist: "I guess it's a yearly check up. I know you were here in May." I said: "Dr. Tirado said everything was fine with me." Receptionist: "Alright maybe that's just for a follow up." I said: "It's just very odd to me, because, Dr. Tirado said I don't have to come back till next year." Receptionist: "Hmm. Yeah it does say your annual was on May" I said: "I already went to my follow up appointment after that." Receptionist: "Ok it was an error on their end." (Receptionist vaguely said sorry, and she hung up the phone on me.) Usually, medical offices call the day before your appointment to notify you of your scheduled appointment the next day. Not once in previous years has this place done that. I've been to other clinics, with more patients. Where, there's just one lady at the front desk, and all calls are handled promptly in respect to every caller's time. No extended wait on hold. Then, there are the several times I was told to fill up "another" cup with urine, for lab tests. Including another repeat incident, when, the receptionist who was there on the morning of January 30, 2020, at approximately 11am, would not apologize for the missing urinalysis result. Nor for the time wasted. Instead put me on hold for five minutes, then after put on hold on the phone for another four minutes, made excuses for the PA, was inconsiderate of my time, and she said: "So do you want to come in and drop off another cup of urine? So do you want to drop off another cup of urine?" Didn't resolve my concerns while I was on the phone. When I asked questions, and asked that I speak to the P.A., or to someone in charge, she made more excuses and put me on hold again for an extended wait time of another four minutes. I hung up, and called back, to cancel my appointment. No answer, no one picked up. Unprofessional. Unacceptable. The receptionist called a whole day later, leaving a message, expecting me to still go there (like nothing happened), and to be there much earlier. I got the message. Of course I chose not to go back there. Not, after that receptionists' disturbing behavior. It is two years later, since the first missing urinalysis incident in 2018, and the same waste of time, due to negligence of staff to do their job correctly. Receptionist has shown a pattern of being inconsiderate towards others' time. She was unprofessional. It is because of inconsiderate behavior like hers, that an increasing amount of the community chooses to have nothing to do with them. They were able to schedule me an appointment within a week, so that was good. The website was very useful. When I arrived for my appointment, I couldn't find anywhere to park. It looked like the staff used the little bit of parking available--it just looked like doctor's cars and it looked like they had been parked there all day. I finally parked across the street in a dentist's lot and went in. The receptionist didn't acknowledge me, just called the name on the clipboard and helped him. After I put it together that I needed to put my name on the clipboard to be acknowledged, I sat down. I was called up very quickly and asked to fill out new patient paperwork. I did and returned it to the desk. I overhead her taking credit cards from two patients before me to "hold on file" for their co-pays. I don't agree with that at all, so I geared up for my respectful declination of such request when it became my turn. The waiting room was full and the people around me were talking about having waited three hours to be called and given test results. About 50 minutes past my scheduled I appointment time, I decided this isn't the place for me. I went to the window and a different woman said, "What's wrong?" I said, "Can I reschedule? I didn't anticipate it taking this long." She said, "What? You're next! When was your appointment? You didn't even wait a full hour." I said, "Well, I need to go." As I walked away, she yelled, "I thought you wanted to reschedule!" Luckily I just moved here and I was just looking to get established with a primary care provider, so I didn't *need to be seen. I'll keep looking for a place where it won't be so obnoxious. read more

I've been seeing Dr Kirpan now for over 3 years. I used to go to her other location but now go here. She spends time with you and answers any questions you may have, I love her! I've also seen Dr Tirado and he's pretty good as well. The only negative to this group practice is the wait time. I have waited two hours before and my fiancé has waited three hours. We are satisfied with our treatment, but not happy about the scheduling. On the other hand, a lot of primary care physicians in America have a long wait time and this may be an issue that comes from within our health care system. read more

Extremely disappointed today! I alway love going to see Keith or Dr. Tirado. Today, my husband had an appointment for 1:30. arrived at 1:15pm. The only reason I continue to go to this office is because of Dr. Kirpan, who is a wonderful diagnostician and quite thorough. Waiting is horrific and they don't even offer a selection of magazines to read. When trying to call it's a journey to Neverland. The recording is a waste as are the people who answer the phone. (Should you get to hear a human voice). You are placed on hold constantly and then you are disconnected. They truly can use some upgrade with customer service. I called three times today to cancel an appointment and have yet to speak to a human being. All I've gotten was a useless recording and then someone telling me to hold on and wala I'm disconnected. What a waste of my time. The front desk of an office should provide a comfort zone for patients, whether in person or via the telephone. I wish the doctor's would realize what is going on there as I'm sure many patients are disillushioned, yet are fearful of voicing their concerns. Patients have to remember that doctors and doctors' staffs work for them and, as patients, we are entitled to excellent service which starts with a telephone call. read more

Dr. Kirpan is a great doctor. She goes over all blood work line by line and is easy to talk to. This aside, she has NO respect for people's time. Her wait ime is absolutely ridiculous! I have waited OVER 2 hours to see her. This is normal for her. Sometimes shes not even in the building. I wouldn't recommend her because of this. read more

Yes the wait times are long, but seeing Dr. Kirpan is worth the wait -- she always gives me the time necessary. And Yes, the magazine selection could be better -- I have learned to bring my own reading. And yes, the parking could be more accommodating for an office building this size -- I have to park down the street and walk. And yes, the scheduling could be less crammed.
