There was a fairly long standing issue I had with the original caulking around the windows that they pointed out, and did an amazing job of making the caulking look really good again. Given the way costs for this sort of work have gone crazy around Glenwood Springs, the final price for all the work seemed fair and reasonable - especially given the high quality of the work.

It's extremely hard to find a general contractor in this area to do smaller projects that aren't the million/billion dollar ones up in Aspen but Sean was fantastic at making me feel like my project was just as important as one of those! His quality of work is very skilled and very detailed. He won't leave until the job is completed to perfection. His crew is very friendly and professional as well. I have had him install two large butcher blocks to my island counter top, which came out even better than I expected and his sanding job was beautiful. We are also in the process of having him install cement pavers and extend our sidewalk and driveway. I could tell early on that Frank wanted to take the time to understand exactly what I was looking for. He communicated clearly and kept every commitment even when surprises popped up. I didn't feel like there was any runaround, or shady behavior, or even calls that went to voicemail. The team was honest, fair, and gave us guidance through every milestone.

I was having budget concerns during my project with Mcswain builders. The person in charge of the…read morefinances for my job came to home, a guy name Caleb Mikenos. He had spread sheets and invoices that all showed my project would in fact come in under budget. He explained that there were problems with their new software and that some items were in there twice, and some needed to be removed, not to worry. I ended up being over $120,000 over budget. I paid for everything and more. There was also a two month break in the project because Frank Mcswain filed the incorrect permits. He also ordered the wrong windows according to HOA criteria so they had to be removed and replaced. I paid for both sets of windows. I asked if they all open and close properly, SURE SURE. They don't. 3 don't open at all. I was told they are under warranty though, so just schedule some more work. Frank and Caleb lied to me throughout the entire project. I paid way more than the contract price and Mcswain team completed about 80 percent of what they promised. I also heard from some of his subcontractors that they were not being paid. So on one hand Frank Mcswain was charging me extra and on the other not paying the men doing the work.
