About a year ago, I switched my insurance over to Allstate. Their prices were good, they offered a…read morediscount for safe driving (Drive Wise), and I felt the agent was honest and cared about my family. However, in September, Allstate determined that my oldest daughter still lived with us and added her to my insurance without my consent. They claimed that they tried to reach out to me first through email and phone. After searching my email, I found 1 of their attempts, but it was buried with other junk e-mails that they sent me (no wonder I didn't see it). I'm unsure if they called me.... Finally I noticed that they were going to withdraw money out of my account, so I immediately reached out to my agent. In order to get my daughter off my insurance, I had to sign something saying she will never drive my car and if she does, I'm responsible for any accidents she may cause. This made me mad since my daughter moved over a thousand miles away several years ago and rarely (if ever) visits, and she has her own car with her own insurance. But I didn't want to pay for someone who lives in another state, so I signed the document. Allstate still charged me for her. I reached out to my agent who claims that they cannot do anything about it and I'm out the money. They recommend that I call Allstate directly, so I did. Allstate was surprised by my call and said usually the agent calls and works stuff like this out. They told me they would call me back in 20 minutes but never did. Be warned. If you use this agent or Allstate, they will falsely accuse you and take your money. Also their safe driving reward program is a scam. The only way you'll get the full reward is if you never drive your vehicle.
