Both of these practitioners were excellent - highly professional, very friendly and completely attentive to the concerns I raised regarding my long-standing hearing problem. I was given a full examination and evaluation and I was given all the time I needed, by both these practitioners, to discuss and clarify my questions. I left this visit with a clear understanding of my treatment options, a pair of trial hearing aids, and with the names of specialists available for additional consultation if necessary. Mainly, I left with confidence that I've found a treatment team on whom I can rely to provide me with excellent ongoing care and support for all my hearing issues in the future. Needless to say ,the other , Becker ENT , would only fit her in at an office 40 minutes away and with an appointment time 4 hours from the time of the call, when they have an office 10 minutes from our house. She even called last night for an emergency call for this problem. She was in pain and the site was bleeding. She did everything they told her to no avail. I guess 12 hours of pain wasn't enough. (And, I have seen hundreds of doctors over the years.) She orders all the necessary tests, reacts to issues in a timely manner, has excellent follow-up and I believe has saved my life a few times. For instance, in 2006 she sent me for a random ultrasound of my native kidneys (which are non-functioning, by the way). It was discovered I had a mass on one of them, which ended up being cancerous and thankfully was removed before it could spread anywhere. Many times her suggestions, thoughts and comments are more on spot for issues outside nephrology than other specialists I have seen. In addition to be a wonderful doctor, she is friendly, upbeat, and a very nice person.

She has a sonogram and Dr Vusakin finally came to see her on Tuesday afternoon! He claimed that she has a tumor in her kidney. After the hospital found out that my mom's Medicare Part B is not active, he told me to go home and come back to do further testing when she gets her Medicare active. Not to mention that didn't care that she's 74 yrs old & disabled with Rheumatoid Arthritis and in intense pain. I was devastated that the hospital and Dr Vusakin told me that she can't get medical attention because she doesn't have insurance. I would never go back to Penn Medical & specially to DR VUSAKIN. He only cares about money not helping patients. I told him to go forward with further testing for the tumor but she told me NO to my face, she needs to have her insurance active. Shame on Dr Vusakin. I recently visited the doctor's office for a physical examination with the nurse practitioner…read more About a day later, I received a call from a nurse informing me that I needed to repeat my blood tests in two weeks due to a high white blood cell count. She inquired whether I had been feeling unwell recently. I shared that I had experienced some side effects like coughing, vomiting, and spitting. I initially attributed to my medication and mentioned that the nurse practitioner had adjusted my prescription that very day. I may have been unwell. The nurse kindly offered to arrange a callback from the nurse practitioner, and I happily accepted. The nurse practitioner called me back, introducing herself with a "Hi, this is Nurse Practitioner Yvonne." I responded with a friendly greeting, asking how she was doing. "Fine," she replied, "but my nurse mentioned you were upset about your results. Let me explain she said." She then delved into the reasons behind my two-week wait to redo my labs. After what felt like an eternity of about five minutes, I finally had the opportunity to speak. I clarified, "I was never upset about the results; my concern is the delay. I work closely with many people and want to take precautions to prevent anyone else from getting sick." Her tone shifted, and she remarked sharply, "I checked your results, and you're fine. What kind of exams do you think should be done?" I suggested tests for common issues like flu or COVID, or even a virus panel--after all, I'm not a doctor. I then asked whether it would be possible to consult another physician. She firmly replied, "We don't do that here. Why do you need another doctor?" I expressed my worries about the unusual side effects I was experiencing, which didn't seem normal to me. In that moment, she retorted, "You can do what you want; I'm not continuing this conversation," and abruptly hung up. Moments later, she called back, asking if I wanted to review the rest of my physical results. At that point, my disappointment poured out. I conveyed how much I had admired her and believed I was getting genuine support for my treatment. "I've decided to seek another doctor," I told her, feeling the weight of my decision. With that, she hung up again. I still think to myself why wasn't I asked how I was feeling, or to come back in to run tests. Its so weird no one called me back to see what happiened and I get a letter saying not to go back there. Stay away from the nurse practitioner; see a doctor if you go here! She was very weird talking about how she is making everyone do a tetanus shot hmmmmm.
