She recommended doing a biopsy of 3 areas. I thought that was routine procedure. As she does the biopsies, she noted most people wanted the areas checked over time. Good to know now that I'm in the middle of the procedure. She cauterized the areas. When home doing wound care, I find she removed the entire area that looked odd. The wounds still haven't fully healed after over 3 months and they will scar. I have 2 areas in the back of my calves that look horrible. First, reviewing all options with me should be done. Telling me that the entire discolored areas will be cut out and how slowly those biopsy areas will heal, and that they will scar, would have influenced my decision. I didn't have enough information to make an informed decision. Now I have still healing wounds on my legs. Yes, I did go to follow-up appointments and was told legs heal last and slowly. My summer was ruined due to these wounds and I'll be scared. Not impressed at all with the care.

Over this last year I have seen her just blossom into such a wonderful and caring PA. It's been easy to schedule an appointment and/or go into the office for urgent care. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes to be seen (they must schedule really well). The doctors are very thorough, friendly, knowledgeable and with good follow through. One of most wonderful things about the practice is that they listen to you....no turning their back to you while they use the computer or anxious to move on to another patient. They address you by name and ask about things we've talked about in the past. I've been cared by them for little issues as well as suggesting/follow up surgeries and other more involved procedures. Chris, their Medical Technician, is the best. When taking blood, you can't even feel the needle and he always gets it the first time. He is very personable and makes giving blood a breeze! Stethoscopes are decidedly old school as doctors stare into laptops occasionally coming up for air to discuss symptoms and diagnoses with the enthusiasm of a metronome. The docs could just as well be holographic or stuck in the metaverse (for that matter, so could you.) "At the tone, please download your balz into the 3-D printer." You never forget for a moment that you're "on the clock." The good news is that procedures and testing that were once outsourced are now conducted in-house with most results available next day. Maybe there's something to be said for efficiency after all. Medicine's brave new world is alive and well here. I just might get used to it. Four 3-D stars.

For the first, I have a chronic condition and I knew which kinds of medications did not work but I was prescribed those anyway rather than something new which did work. For the second, I was given a treatment that was equivalent of a bandaid on a large wound, and it caused the problem to get worse because it was ignored even longer. For the third, I was simply dismissed without any examination and told I was too young to have the problem I explained. I went to Urgent Care several times while I was a patient of this practice because I knew it would be better than being ignored.

She inquired whether I had been feeling unwell recently. I shared that I had experienced some side effects like coughing, vomiting, and spitting. I initially attributed to my medication and mentioned that the nurse practitioner had adjusted my prescription that very day. I may have been unwell. The nurse kindly offered to arrange a callback from the nurse practitioner, and I happily accepted. The nurse practitioner called me back, introducing herself with a "Hi, this is Nurse Practitioner Yvonne." I responded with a friendly greeting, asking how she was doing. "Fine," she replied, "but my nurse mentioned you were upset about your results. Let me explain she said." She then delved into the reasons behind my two-week wait to redo my labs. After what felt like an eternity of about five minutes, I finally had the opportunity to speak. I clarified, "I was never upset about the results; my concern is the delay. I work closely with many people and want to take precautions to prevent anyone else from getting sick." Her tone shifted, and she remarked sharply, "I checked your results, and you're fine. What kind of exams do you think should be done?" I suggested tests for common issues like flu or COVID, or even a virus panel--after all, I'm not a doctor. I then asked whether it would be possible to consult another physician. She firmly replied, "We don't do that here. Why do you need another doctor?" I expressed my worries about the unusual side effects I was experiencing, which didn't seem normal to me. In that moment, she retorted, "You can do what you want; I'm not continuing this conversation," and abruptly hung up. Moments later, she called back, asking if I wanted to review the rest of my physical results. At that point, my disappointment poured out. I conveyed how much I had admired her and believed I was getting genuine support for my treatment. "I've decided to seek another doctor," I told her, feeling the weight of my decision. With that, she hung up again. I still think to myself why wasn't I asked how I was feeling, or to come back in to run tests. Its so weird no one called me back to see what happiened and I get a letter saying not to go back there. Stay away from the nurse practitioner; see a doctor if you go here! She was very weird talking about how she is making everyone do a tetanus shot hmmmmm.

At both locations, be prepared to wait a long time without explanation or apology (unless you ask repeatedly) and listen to front staff discussing confidential matters. Despite these misgivings, I went for a follow-up appointment - which didn't happen because there was an issue with my name in the software they use. All through the repeated text/email updates and the portal pre-registration, my name was correct. Why this glitch, god only knows. My choice was to wait until they could figure it out, or reschedule. While having listened to the front staff discuss the issue loudly and at length (without realizing they were talking about me, as if I was not sitting there RIGHT in front of them) without telling me why I still wasn't being seen, I decided I had no more patience. Oh and when a doctor tells you he's looking forward to confirming a rare case of *** in you (for his own development?) after just having told you it could potentially be a tumor - and you put him straight by saying "well, I hope it doesn't get confirmed!" - his bedside manner needs work.

Dr. Bialy has been my nephrologist for 20+ years…read more Dr. Bialy is by far one of the most competent, thorough, and knowledgeable doctors I have found. (And, I have seen hundreds of doctors over the years.) She orders all the necessary tests, reacts to issues in a timely manner, has excellent follow-up and I believe has saved my life a few times. For instance, in 2006 she sent me for a random ultrasound of my native kidneys (which are non-functioning, by the way). It was discovered I had a mass on one of them, which ended up being cancerous and thankfully was removed before it could spread anywhere. Many times her suggestions, thoughts and comments are more on spot for issues outside nephrology than other specialists I have seen. In addition to be a wonderful doctor, she is friendly, upbeat, and a very nice person.
