    Freshly baked breads
    Leyang Z.

Up to now I only tried their sourdough and rye bread. The rye was not made purely with rye flour, actually I guess the wheat flour takes up to more than 50%. But it contains some rye kernels. The sourdough was pretty standard. Compared to the bread baked by The Bread Company, recommend this bakery for those who want to eat healthy bread but have not tried pure whole wheat/pure rye/pure sprouted bread etc. Btw I really like the decor in this bakery. Very colorful and cute! Also note that they serve lunch.

    Tres Leches Cake

My friend got me this Tres Leches cake from Rick's Bakery and I loved it! Decent size but was able to hold it up one hand (as seen in photo)! The flavor was amazing and the cake was spongy/soft! I would definitely return to buy this cake for the next birthday party!

We've had a hard time finding a bakery we liked in the area but Rick's seems to be winning us over as the local gem. They have burritos, empanadas, and savory items in case you aren't looking to satisfy a sweet tooth. It's a good bakery that also meets the cafe vibe with the food offerings and indoor/outdoor seating. They offer desserts on display in two cases. You have the option of getting a single slice or mini version of tarts and cakes as well as whole cakes. They also sell cookies and cannolis. If you're looking for a recommendation-- the chocolate/fudge cake is not overly sweet but definitely decadent and satisfying. The tres leche cake is delicious and incredible. We have also tried the fresh fruit tart and it's filled with pastry cream and fresh fruit, but wished the peaches weren't from a can; we thought it was mango just looking at the tart which would've been out of this world. Service is friendly and they do not rush you when you're there. Apple Pay is accepted.

I ordered an almond croissant, a Tiramisu, and a cheesecake. All of them were delicious! The price was very reasonable! They also have bread or festival cakes for sale. Will try other options in the future!

    Happy Fat Tuesday! King Cake
    Rachel W.

I waited until the last minute to try and find a King Cake on Fat Tuesday. Dumb mistake. When I couldn't find a cake after stopping at several local grocery stores, my husband came through and made a trip to Rick's (after calling to see if they had any) to pick one up. I wanted to love this. I really, really did. Unfortunately this Cake was so dry it was like eating sawdust. I liked the subtle flavor, but it was hard to get past the need to drink water just to flush this dessert down. Dry and dense is tough to swallow. It was $15.00, which was a very reasonable price given the size. I wouldn't come back and buy this again, unless it was fresh out of the oven. I guess I'm used to the moist King Cakes from the chain grocery stores. This was our first time trying Rick's. We'll definitely be back because they have so many other delectable things to offer and generally have great reviews. I think we just visited late on a very busy day.

Good selection of fresh breads and pastries. The empanadas are tasty, they should try new flavors for the Vegan option. The croissants did not have the traditional pastry (buttery, flaky, layered French pastry), however the filling was tasty. I would recommend the empanadas Please follow me on Instagram @tryatreat

The service was quick and friendly, the barista described the options available and had good recommendations! Good study space with WiFi, bathrooms, and a water fountain around the corner. Just be prepared to wear a jacket on either end of the cafe near the doors, can get windy upon opening! Thai Tea Caramel Canelé {5/5}: The best canelé I've ever had (okay, I admit, I've only had maybe 6 in my life). Great caramel and good Thai tea flavor. The texture was AMAZING with a nice slight crisp and chewy outside and almost custard-like inside. I got 2 more before I left Green Onion Kouign-Amann {4/5}: A caramel shell outside of this very flakey pastry that I had plenty of green onions mixed within the dough. It was a great play on sweet and salty flavors with delicious flakey layers Jade Cloud {3/5}: Peach oolong tea with matcha cold foam. Just a personal preference thing, but the flavor combination of peach, oolong, and matcha was not my favorite. I can see how someone who likes this flavor profile would find this drink refreshing!

We got a couple of croissants and a canele, and we each ordered an espresso drink. It was everything she promised - and more. The croissant was flaky and buttery. Would definitely come back on my next visit. In the meantime, I'll just have to ask my friend to bring pastries to me when she visits!

I've made stuff with okara before and like the particular flavor and texture-- it feels drier and denser because of the soy pulp, but it's something I like. However, a few weeks ago, (6/6/26) I had a disappointing experience with a staff member there while picking up an online cake order. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.

Drinks and food themselves are very interesting and well made. Not in a "this is amazing", but it was good. My group and I enjoyed everything that we ordered, so the drinks and food were probably designed to please as many people as possible. The variety in their menu is interesting and I'm surprised they were willing maintain their diverse selections. The location is more in a hole-in-a-wall spot. Parking is a pain, but it's in a walking neighborhood amidst a bunch of stores and restaurants. It's a nice place to pop by for a quick drink or dessert after a huge dinner or for a walking break. The biggest concern I had with the place is that it's really not designed for people to stick around. Very few seats or uncomfortable standing areas. Everything is made in house and not overly sweet. I especially love their whole cakes or cake slices since they are made with whipped cream which is very airy and light. Owner change their offering everyday, so it's always a surprise on what I can find when I visit. Moment Bakery is a Chinese-style bakery on Green St, located near the university campus. In…read moregeneral, their cakes are not overly sweet, and they're relatively light. They're my favorite bakery in the area: I'm a really big fan and have tried many of their items (as you can see from my many photos...). My favorite items here are their cream cakes, milk bread (which they call toast), and the cakes with taro and/or mochi. I also highly recommend ordering custom cakes from them: I've ordered three custom cakes (including my wedding cake) and they were all delicious, beautifully decorated, and reasonably priced, especially for the quality. The character designs they do on cakes are super cute. Their menu changes every day, and the milk bread usually comes out later in the afternoon, around 3:30. If you can read Chinese, they have a WeChat group where they post their daily menu. They also sometimes have specials for holidays, e.g., mooncakes for Mid Autumn Festival. I've tried too many of their products to list here, but here are a just few of my favorites (you can check my photos for more details): -Cream Cakes (about $8-9 per slice, depending on the flavor) - these are light and not too sweet, and I really like the whipped cream. My favorites have been the black sesame cream cake, durian cream cake, taro cake, and jasmine milk tea cream cake; the fruit cream is also a classic and is delicious as well. I loved the black sesame cream cake so much that I got it for my wedding. -Toast (Milk Bread) - this comes in two sizes and several flavors; a small is around $5 and a large is around $9. My favorites are the taro and the pork floss flavors, but all the ones I tried have been great. It's very fluffy, soft, stretchy, and slightly sweet, and it's especially great when it's still warm. It's by far the best option for milk bread in town (it's much better than the version at Suzu's Bakery, for instance). -Purple Rice Cream Cheese Bun ($6) - bread with cream cheese, mochi, and purple rice filling. The mochi and purple rice combo is delicious, especially when the bun is still warm. -Taro Mochi Cake ($9) - layers of sponge cake, mochi, pork floss, and taro. The perfect combo in my opinion. I also like their Taro Roll and Mochi Roll, which are smaller versions with sponge cake, pork floss, and one of taro or mochi in the filling. -Mille Crepe Cakes (around $10 per slice, depending on the flavor) - these have relatively more cream compared to crepe. My personal preference would be for more crepe, but I really liked the durian mille crepe and the sakura matcha mille crepe that I tried here. In addition to cream cakes, they also make a variety of other styles of cakes, including mousse cakes, cheesecakes, Basque style cheesecakes, and tiramisu. The cream cakes are my favorite, but the mousse cakes and cheesecakes are great too and are not too sweet. The tiramisu is one of the sweetest cakes I've tried here, but I really liked it as well. The service is really kind and sweet. For custom cake orders, they're very friendly, kind, and thorough. I definitely recommend giving them a visit!
