Learning how to maneuver around cones.
    Eric R.

I'd never ridden a bike, and had very little experience with driving a stick. That said, 15 minutes into my first lesson Randy had me on the bike. Randy was always on time, very laid back, patient, experienced and obviously knows his stuff. The lessons are structured, however because they're one-on-one it's at your speed. For some reason I had a particularly difficult time picking up a skill, and Randy was patient and supportive in observing my error, showing me the proper technique and encouraging me to keep trying. I also appreciated the way each lesson builds on top of the previous, which allows you to learn new skills while improving on what you've already learned. I'd recommend "Ride with Pride" to beginners, as well as those who have taken group classes and still may need improvement.

Randy was awesome. He was very patient and assuring. He was so good that I only needed two lessons from him! :) I definitely recommend him!

Unfortunately as a new mother I was naive and being the only midwife in the area I gave this woman…read morethe benefit of the doubt in seemingly having no real information on doula services other than what I could have watched myself on YouTube. The sad fact of the matter is, this woman is unlicensed (NV doesn't require a license to practice midwifery) and doesn't really represent that of what a midwife or doula should stand for. My husband is a medical professional and knew from the start that she wasn't what she was claiming to be, but he stuck with everything because I thought it would be best if we had a doula for our labor. However, she violated so many HIPPA laws before hand.. talking to us about another couples birth experience that we took birthing classes with- i.e. giving specific medical information, and blaming them for a failed home birth that and being very unprofessional. At that point we decided to cancel our services with her for unprofessionalism and will not be using her as our doula. We had six weeks of birthing classes with her and she couldn't even remember the gender of our child. On top of everything she is violating her own contract with us and has stolen money from us since we have decided to cancel our services with her. We were issued a refund check and then the same day it was written she put a stop payment on the check costing me even more money and we we have started pursuing legal actions adviced by Clark County DA's office if she doesn't comply with restitution. It's disappointing that we have had such a poor experience, seeing as how this is our first child and we wanted it to be different, but I don't want anyone else to be misguided about her level of expertise.. or tricked into paying thousands of dollars and having a disappointing experience, knowing what I know now about the kind of person she is and the type of services you would receive. Do yourself a favor and get a midwife or doula in Vegas. I believed midwives and doulas were suppose to be the types of people who cared the most, but this has ruined my faith in that.

New Mom School - Here are some moms I met in the class! We got together at a brewery with the partners and babies!

After I had my baby I noticed I had people in my circle that weren't going through the same things as me. Although they had kids, we weren't going through the same thing at the same time. This is when I decided to look for activities I could do with my baby. I was skeptical because as an introvert I was scared to go out with my newborn (he was 3 months at the time) But I'm glad I crossed paths with New mom school again. I signed up and went from Newborn class all the way to their last class of Rising toddler. Through the classes I met many wonderful mamas that were all going through the same things, we could relate in the milestones our babies were having. New mom school had many professionals come in and educate us on things like pelvic exercises, on how to have a safe car seat installed, and even things like how to establish a sleeping schedule for baby. Even though for some this information may sound like it was a no brainer. When you're sleep deprived and learning as you go, as a first time mom I appreciated every advice. I found a village that not only listened to me but they also gave me advice. I loved coming to this place once a week and see my baby grow, and I am sad to reach the end of it. But hope other moms see this and know THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO SIGN UP. You got this!

I signed up for the Newborn Class and it gave me the chance to connect with other moms who have babies around the same age, which made such a difference in feeling less alone during those early months. It also really helped me get out of the house during those tough newborn trenches and feel more comfortable and confident driving around with my baby. It truly feels like a judgment-free zone where everyone is going through the same stage and genuinely understands what you're experiencing. The staff is amazing, and you can really tell they care. Vanessa, the instructor for the newborn class, and Megan, the Program Manager, were especially wonderful--so kind, patient, and incredibly supportive. They both created a comfortable space where no question felt silly, and their encouragement and support helped build my confidence as a new mom. By the end of the class, my baby and Vanessa were basically best friends--she helped me so many times when my baby was fussy and would even keep an eye on her if I needed a quick restroom break, which meant so much to me. I'm so grateful I found New Mom School and definitely recommend the classes to any new moms looking for guidance and a sense of community!
