It's a "Build A Bear" workshop on testosterone! Take the Build Something at a Birthday Party concept, and shift the focus from Teddy Bears to Racing cars and you have RIDEMAKERZ. Pick a car, customize it, add trim, a monster chassis, a sound package, and anything your budget allows, get the picture? It's a great concept, the store is bright and colorful, the staff was super helpful, and I liked how the customizing stations resemble pit stops and the stools look like shock absorbers. And you get a Yelp check in $5 off bonus!!

Tori made our first build easy and enjoyable! Our son loved picking everything out and building his own car! This is such a neat little place and our son has already requested this to be a tradition!

My son absolutely loves Ridemakerz! He has made three now and always lists Ridemakerz as his favorite part of vacation. This year, my daughter made her first "ride." She's hooked now too! It is such a fantastic experience and they get to take a personalized souvenir that they actually play with and will last for years!!! Pro tip: They put a 10 dollar off coupon in the beach magazine and coupon books. This will allow you to get a couple of free accessories or upgrade the tires/rims without hurting the wallet too badly.

So my girlfriend and I went into this shop cause she and I had walked by and she was like "That's dope!" So, once we went in the employees were very attentive and informative about what she could do with a car she chose. It was a fun experience and I think that even though it appeared like something for kids, it was still fun to act like a kid while in there!

Second trip here and both times were amazing. I have a 3 year old son who LOVES cars and anything to do with them. This is so much better for boys then build a bear! When we went in on a Sunday, both guys that were there were able to help everyone out in a quick way. The wait was not long at all and they were so great with the kids. Love this place and will come visit every time we are here. It is well worth the money.

Outstanding place to go for RC Cars. Service is awesome at RIDEMAKERZ. If I were to come back to Myrtle Beach, I would come here.

Even though small, they have quite a variety of collectibles. Including comics, games, action figures, records, etc. A nice mix of comics from 60s and up. A couple of old issues that I either have or have had in the past. It was a pleasant experience and nice chat about all things collectible.

While the shop itself isn't massive in scope, they are stock-piled with a whole lot of awesome stuff. There is a heavy emphasis on action figures and I saw plenty of the Marvel Legends, GI Joe and Star Wars figures along with several groups of classic toys as well, meaning older editions of this stuff that either were of their own personal collections or from others who wished to part with the treasures. Also before you ask, yes they have Funko Pops. Of course there are comic books both new and more vintage and while some of those are in boxes, the higher priced editions are up above on racks or the wall space to be showcased better. I didn't purchase anything despite having my eyes set on the brand-new Hasbro Cobra Commander. I didn't bring a big suitcase with me so I only had so much room to carry stuff back. The staff was friendly and I encourage all like-minded geeks to pay them a visit. There is surely a little something for all ages of collector.

Since there was a comic book store nearby I knew where I would be spending my wait time while they did their own thing. Upon arrival, I had to say that Power Comics was quite deceiving and didn't look to be all that big from the outside. Wow was I wrong because once I headed inside I saw that the place was huge. The display case counter where you pay is off to the left once you enter and all around are shelves, racks and stands of all kinds with every bit of geeky coolness that one could hope to find. On the main floor they had a few tables loaded with long boxes for books that had moved off of the current releases batch over to the back issues but sadly I didn't manage to find the one single item I was looking for at the moment. This isn't their fault of course and I am just adding more words to the Yelp ;p On higher shelves above the reach of most people were the pricier issues and I mean comics that were in the high hundreds of dollars each. The main floor also had a massive Funko Pop section that I only looked at from afar. I didn't want to find myself snagging any of those since I didn't have the biggest suitcase with me for this trip. Truth be told my Pop additions are few and far between anyway. The glass counter had a number of collectible card sets. On the second floor was the pricier stuff with numerous gigantic statues that ran from the low to high thousands of dollars. I loved quite a few of them but I've neither the space nor the finances to bring even one of them into my small NYC apartment. Among the impressive statues were the Venom-Pool, a cross between Venom and Deadpool and an amazing Skeletor lifesize bust and chest piece. Eventually my folks joined me here and my father was impressed at the level of geek recognition I had for most of these characters. I joked that I could name more Avengers than Yankees or Mets on any day of the week. There were also some long boxes up there as well and they seemed to hold full runs of limited series and a number of collected editions. I didn't thoroughly peruse them so if there were more in there to discover I hope you find something you desire. My exploration found me discovering one of the McFarlane Toys KISS "Psycho Circus" action figures. It was the Space Ace one and with the legendary Ace Frehley having passed last year I just had to grab it. I do wish that they had The Demon but I didn't see one. The staffer onsite was not too chatty but it was early and there is a lot of store to pay attention to so I don't fault them for that. Suffice it to say there is a little something for everyone and I highly recommend this place if you should be in or near Conway, SC for anything. I look forward to going again when I return down to these parts.
