I went in to be a few hermit crabs for company for the 1 that I currently have. I was not sure which ones to pick from the vast selection. Rain was so incredibly helpful. She steered me toy new 3 new crabs and took the time to help me pick out a shell for my current crab. She was just so nice. Patient and a wonderful person. Jaws is one of my all time favorite movie and even though the store only has a small section of Jaws merchandise I found what I was looking for.. they do have a bunch of tshirts and sweatshirts by the entrance. Other than that they have a huge variety of about everything you would need or want. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the clothes was comparable to most other big beach stores As far as price. Also the kids would love the store also. Lots of toys, sand toys, hermit crabs, shark necklaces, name plates, etc. and a tank in the middle of the store where they have a couple of baby sharks with warnings about not to put your hands in the tank. So many resort wear shops but this one has the ridiculous shark photo op, so we stopped in here. It's exactly what you would expect--cheesy towels and t-shirts, stuffed animals, toys, beach chairs... none of it spectacular quality but whatever, you're on vacation! This is a great gift shop! There is an aquarium in the middle of the store with sharks and cownose rays in it, which was very cool for the kids. My kids also loved walking into the shark's mouth to get to the front door! Prices weren't outrageous and some of the products were much better quality than some of the other really cheap shops on the main strip. read more

I wish i could give this place 0 stars. I talked to Terry a while ago and she was completely rude. She was using profanity behind the counter and my 2 year old Mackynsleigh-Grace heard and now keeps calling her daddy these words. I bought a simply southern clearance shirt and it had what looked like a mustard stain on it. TERRY said that it "came with the shirt" and proceeded to tell me to just hurry up and buy it. I later found out she was LYING and it did not come with the shirt. i put it in the wash and now my whole washer smells like mustard. The only good thing was there was a young ginger gal who was very sweet. Still beyond disappointed with this astronomical behavior. DONT GO HERE! read more

If you're driving down Hwy. 17 in Garden City/Murrell's Inlet and you see a large shark head with its mouth open, then you have happened upon Jaws Resortwear. When you walk in the shark, the theme from Jaws starts playing. The reason I am here - packing for the beach, I forgot my swimsuit. Who does that? Plus, I am a big woman so I need a place that sells my size and not just the "itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini." Not only do they sell clothing but they also have an area that sells souvenirs. I went in, was pleased when I asked the sales person what size the swimsuits went to and proceeded to pick out a suit that I liked. I didn't try it on because I hate to do that. There is a sign on the register that says No Returns Exchanges Only. Well, of course I found that it wasn't the style of suit that I wanted and I was going to have to exchange it. When I returned the next day, there was no problem with that and I was able to find the style of suit that I wanted. Would I come back here? Yes, I would. And that's the way it is. read more

This was a really nice store with a lot of reasonably priced souvenirs, clothing, and beach decor. The staff was friendly, and it was clean inside. They had very cute hermit crabs for sale as well. In the middle, there is a large topless shark tank with several fish and a few sharks in it. We really enjoyed shopping here. However, the reason for the three stars instead of more is because we thought the largest shark was too big to safely survive in the tank. The little ones swam all around the tank, while the biggest one just laid there. In my personal opinion, I think the owners should turn it over to the local aquarium (if it can't safely survive out of captivity). Another thing we disliked was that they had deceased baby sharks in glass tubes for sale. As an animal and nature lover, it just seems wrong to me. read more

Do not be fooled by this tourist trap! The store clerk does not like kids. They have a big jaws outside that looks enticing for young people. Inside they have a little shark tank with mucky water. Their merchandise, toys and candy look inviting for curious hands to touch. I followed my kids around and before I told them to leave, the store clerk was barking from his perch. He obviously has no understanding of parenting. He harassed me with his phone camera and threatened to call the police. Put a sign out for NO KIDS WANTED if you can't handle them! read more

The employees are absolute jerks. This store has many antiques but I was barked at when trying to pick up a shark head because I wasn't being careful enough? Extremely hostile environment and not friendly to kids at all. I'm 18 years old and the same guy kept treating me like I was a little kid who was gonna break everything I touched. I also bought these two lighters I thought were super cool and had a whole conversation with the man at the counter. If I could give half stars I would give one and a half for that man as he was the only friendly person in the store and I had a great conversation with him. However after I tried to leave, the same man who harassed me about touching their own product accused me of shoplifting the lighters and demanded I came back and paid for them. I told him I had the receipt but if he was that worried about it to call the police and I'd show them cuz I wasn't talking to him anymore and he should ask his employees before asking me. Again, the only good part about the store was the man at the counter with the beard I talked to about the lighters, if I could give a half star I would, only for that man. This place is awful though and from what I've read in other reviews I am not the only one to have these type of problems. It is what it is...a tourists souvenir shop. The entrance is cool, and the ominous shark movie music is a nice bonus. The merchandise is cheap and poorly made, but you get what you pay for. The entrance is cool you walk through a shark mouth. What I didn't like are the the hermit crab cage and the shark tank looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. The hermit crabs are one of the first things you see when you enter the store. There were dead crabs all in it. The shark tank is in the center of the store. It made me sad to think the poor animals had to live like that. There are a ton of t shirt designs and souvenir items. They had a variety of price ranges for t shirts. One of the better tourist trap stores in the area. You enter the store through the mouth of a giant shark (fun for photos). Inside is a wide variety of clothing, shoes, mugs, and more. Our kids loved the live iguanas and the shark tank. The reason I didn't give 4 stars was that we were all somewhat disturbed by the hermit crab cage--a low open box at the front of the store. It has a tiny sign that says not to touch the crabs, but the location at the front of the store and the open box meant that it was surrounded by people picking up the crabs, dropping them, and spraying them aggressively with a bottle of water sitting by the cage. The cage also had way too many crabs and smelled horrible. read more

ripped off. weighed my candy with the scale that's as by the candy section, and it said it was half a pound. but when i went up to pay it said it was 1 pound. then the lady CONVENIENTLY says that the scale by the candy station is broken. never told us that when she saw us weighing them, didn't apologize either. made us pay the price that was on the second scale, and didn't even offer a discount. very disappointed. will not be going back. read more

We have made our souvenir purchase here every year during our annual April vacation, but that ended today. We walked through the store collecting our purchases, but when we went to check out the two workers behind the counter ignored us. after a couple of minutes I stated loudly that we were ready to check out. They pointed vaguely at the store and told us "she" would help us out. "She" never showed up and the two unhelpful workers disappeared, so we left our planned purchases on the counter and went to a different store. Go ANYWHERE else. read more

I received a text message from my daughter so I pulled into their lot for a minute. Two women who worked there came to my car and yelled at me and accused me pulling into their lot twice a day when I haven't even been that way in over a week. They said if I don't go in the store that I can't go into their lot. I bring my guests here when they visit but never again! Also they are way overpriced especially when there are so many other stores nearby with the same items much less expensive. Not to mention the workers are always so nice at other stores! This place is awful! Shark aquarium is filthy and disgusting! Awful customer service! The workers are rude and unprofessional! He screamed cause my four year old was excited about the fidget spinner and touched the glass! When I apologized and said that he is only four the employee continued to be rude! I put all of my merchandise down and told them considering how they were so rude I would not buy anything. That just made him act even worse and he told us to leave which we were doing anyway. When I asked earlier in the conversation to speak with the owner, he claimed he was the owner. I would never subject my children to that place again! My four year old left in tears. Absolutely worst customer service! Do not take your children here!!! Not to mention the prices are ridiculous. Same bathing suit down the road for half the price, along with other stuff! read more

The customer service is wonderful, they make you feel like you're a part of their family. And my next favorite thing- actual AFFORDABLE prices! You can definitely tell this is a family owned and operated business by the cleanileness and the hospitable customer service. I came by Jaws Resortwear on my vacation with my family to pick up a few things, and we absolutely loved this beachwear store! I have been to many beachwear stores but this one topped all of the others. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the amazing staff at this store and throughout our shopping they would check back up on us! It was wonderful customer service. Everything was so neatly folded and displayed- I was able to find a few new bathing suits for myself and my whole family found great things for themselves as well! The atmosphere of this store was just overall very welcoming and enjoyable to be in. I have had bad experiences with other beachwear stores around but was so pleased by this one. I will for sure be making my way back into this store every year my family comes back to vacation! Also the simply southern collection in this store was so good! such a wide variety of all their collection, i was very pleased. Overall the staff here were so great and friendly. The best customer service I have experienced in Myrtle beach! They had be laughing and smiling the whole time- Keep up the great work and I will for sure be making my return next year!! read more
