Extremely rude and very unhelpful. I wouldn't buy a life preserver off this guy if I was drowning.

The Unger's have a great reputation and are honest people. They always try to give you the best deal possible...they did for me!

Purchased a helmet for my son. They had a very wide selection and the staff was very helpful. My son loves his helmet.

Gary is a good dude. When I moved from Reston to Alexandria a few years ago, I went looking for a…read morelocal shop that was extremely BMW-friendly, as my new address made shops like RRT and CoHo very inconvenient. Some quick searching pulled up Martin Motorsports. I decided to just wander in after work one day and chat them up to get a feel for the place. Long story short, I immediately felt comfortable with Gary and his technicians. I DIY most work but farm out the work I either can't do or don't want to do to whoever I can trust. And I trust Gary quite a bit. I have two BMWs and a truck, and his shop services them all. Last winter, my old truck (a 2005 Yukon Denali) had "an oil leak" that I couldn't track down. I brought it to Gary and asked that they fix it. Here's where the "good dude" part comes in. He called me after they diagnosed, and told me all of the issues they had found (4 oil leaks, slipping transmission, leaky center diff, and rusty brake lines). Knowing me, my financial situation, and that I used the Yukon to tow the one BMW to racetracks all over creation, Gary straight-up told me "we aren't working on this unless you want to fix everything, and that doesn't make sense given what it's worth unless you're that attached to it." Needless to say, I appreciated his openness and honest opinion. Breaking down on the highway with a car and trailer in tow would be a nightmare. I ended up trading the Yukon for a newer pickup. Gary also has dealt with many aftermarket warranty companies. One friend wanted her 335i looked at before the warranty expired, to have any warranty-friendly items fixed in time. I just bought a 2006 M3 that came with an aftermarket warranty and would like the same thing done. In both cases, I've called him up and had "oh yeah brother, I know that company, bring it in and we'll see what we can send to them and I'll get you a quote for the rest." Gary and his shop are solid, honest guys with a lot of experience. I would recommend Martin Motorsports to anyone, with the knowledge that they won't be taken for a ride and will simply experience honest, friendly service.

I trusted he would replace old coolant hoses that I had concern with. I was lucky and saw an upper hose burst when I arrived home. He did replace the cooling fan clutch that was overpriced. Shame on me for not doing the job myself.
