I've been here three times in this past year since I moved here. I have to say that in my opinion; this business is thee absolutely best managed business in Ridgecrest. I never have a problem with their employees who are always professional and competent which has to be attributed to their manager. In fact, thee best employee in Ridgecrest that I've interacted with in Ridgecrest was a young man who worked their ticket booth. If my memory serves me correctly he wore glasses. The theater is always clean and well maintained. This business is the gold standard in Ridgecrest and I always look forward to patronizing this business. It's a-ok. This is a place that brings many memories, I've haven't been here in so long, it was confusing for a bit finding #7, but got to John Wick 2 in time. There was no previews, or not that many as it started on the dot. Sound was good, my cousin enjoyed his popcorn and asked if the large is refillable (which is not, unlike AMC). It's bad enough that we only have one movie theater in Ridgecrest; but we are also stuck paying the high prices we pay to get into this theater, and equally as bad are the high snack bar prices. So when I watch a movie, the least the theater employees can do is let me watch the ENTIRE movie in peace - and that includes the ending credits. As someone who is currently in the business of filmmaking, I want to know who is responsible for doing what in every movie I see. But most importantly, when a company such as MARVEL sneaks extra scenes into the end credits, I don't need the theater employees snapping on the lights so they can come in and do as little as possible to clean the theater and get in my viewing way. They have 30 minutes minimum between shows when the theater is empty to turn on the lights and pretend they are earning their minimum wage pay checks. On more than one occasion I've watched them come in and police the obvious empty cups left in the cup holders while bypassing piles of popcorn and wrappers scattered under the same seats. I can't remember ever seeing an employee bend at the waist in order to sweep under a seat. I have complained to management before and was assured that employees are supposed to wait until the entire theater is empty before turning on lights and "cleaning" the theater and that this would be re-affirmed to the employees so this would not happen again. But here we are, trying to watch the end credits on Wolverine and the theater is still HALF FULL of people and the lights come on! We had to shout for them to go out before they were shut off. After the first scene was shown and more people left, the lights snapped on again. We asked they they be shut off again, they were. Not even two minutes and up they go again and this time an employee wants to stand there and argue about cleaning the theater. Now, Stan Lee, the head of Marvel has an appearance in every movie - it's contractually guaranteed for him - and we've, at this point, still have seen no Stan Lee. So we are sure there should be another scene coming with him in it. But now we can't enjoy that because these characters called "theater employees" who have 30 WHOLE MINUTES between shows to clean, want to get it out of their way. Why? Is there a party in the back room they are missing? I paid for this movie from START to FINISH and I paid too much for it as far as I'm concerned. So let me watch the freaking picture! Don't shout obscenities at me and argue. I'm the customer and your half effort at cleaning the joint can wait. Especially since I was told by management, that is the way it is supposed to be. read more

I haven't been there since the whole earthquake debacle but wanted to take a moment to update: Since it is the only theatre in the entire town of Ridgecrest and basically reflects the rest of the town, I will not give very personal opinions, just state observations on my visit: PARKING: Old cracked asphalt or dirt. STORE-FRONT: Bland, outdated. TICKET-BOOTH- Computerized, sufficient, friendly staff. CONCESSION STAND- sufficient. Condiment bar is no longer. Jalapenos are now in small ~2" square packs that hold about 8 slices and are available for purchase. Self-serve fountain drinks. SEATS: Many sections of seats have been upgraded and there are a few (3, I think) small stadium seating theaters as well. SOUND: Sufficient--not bad, not the best. PICTURE: sufficient. CLEANLINESS: average to less than average. ATMOSPHERE: Bland until you get lost in your movie. Then when the movie is over, bland again. WEBSITE: Sufficient. SOUND: sufficient--not bad, not the best. PICTURE: sufficient. The last movie I saw in the 1st quarter of 2013 had a number of sound and picture hiccups/glitches the first 5 minutes or so. None after. I believe it was due to a wind-storm that was wreaking havoc on the electrical system (so they said). CLEANLINESS: average to less than average. ATMOSPHERE: Depressing until you get lost in your movie. Then when the movie is over, depressing again. WEBSITE: very basic. Personal MySpace pages from 15 years ago were more elaborate. Forget about trying to access movie titles and times on a smarl-phone. read more

You don't have a choice on movie theaters, this is the only one. So I think there's no point in rating this movie theater, correct? Haha. This place can't stack up to the stadium cinemas in other cities, but it's tried throughout the year to upgrade by adding two new rooms and upgrading the chairs from uncomfortable to tolerable. So...considering it's the only one in the good old RC -- aka Ridgecrest, Cali.... it really is a-ok. Some theaters seems a bit worn and torn. It isn't brand new but it's clean. They usually have a good selection of the newest movies and the kids that work there are pretty cool. Don't expect glitz and glamour. I LOVE that the movie theater is coming up with fun events like the summer throwback series. The ticket prices are affordable and I love that the second snack bar is getting use again. The staff are incredibly friendly and lines move quickly. I love that previews are kept to a minimum (no waiting 20 minutes for the movie to start like at an AMC). Theaters 1-4 could use a face lift but they aren't terrible. I would go for the AC alone. read more

There's not much I can say positive about this place other than the kids that work here are always cheerful. There's always energetic personnel willing to jump to it and fill the jalapeño container for the obligatory hot dog. Apparently the snack bar was closing and we ordered a hot dog before that which she snarky commented would take 10 mins as we waited for the hot dog when the hot dog was ready she then refused to give us the hotdog because the rotator was getting off. she then decided to microwave the luke warm hot dog. if i wanted a microwaved hot dog i would go home to do so i don't expect this kind of service at a movie theater i paid to get in and paid to have a rotated hot dog she then talked back as we politely said we don't want the hot dog with a rude tone worst service ever!!! read more

This theater is a pretty typical theater- I enjoy all of the movies that I have seen in it. I am grateful that there is a theater in Ridgecrest- I don't need anything particularly fancy. I do wish that we had some more options for cheap movies once in a while- some towns have cheap matinee kid movies in the summer time. I do like the monthly promotions that they are doing now. I will be definitely watching some movies on Tuesdays in November (movies are the same price all day). read more

The people at the theater are nice but the theater itself isn't very comfortable. The seats don't recline and it feels pretty small inside. Screen and sound quality was excellent. I have been in much better theaters that have a much more comfortable environment and that is why I have rated them with two stars. read more

My gripe with this theater is that they don't give a wide range of movies. I have to drive out of town just to watch a certain movie. This was the case when the movie Black and Blue came out, and now the movie Queen and Slim. I understand that the earthquake shut down half of the theater, but they should at least switch it up to give those who would like to watch the movie a chance. read more

If it were possible to rate lower I certainly would. We played for 3 tickets to watch Alien Covenant. One of the employees demanded we leave the cinema and go into the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II" showing instead of what we payed for. Nice small theatre. They have two (or maybe more) larger, more modern cinemas with comfy seats and quite a few older ones. Typical theatre; overpriced, sticky floors, and the staff consists of booger-nose high school kids that don't give a damn. Quite charming really. This is a good place to see a movie. Coming from LA, I am accustomed to spending $100 for a family of five for a movie with some popcorn. This place was significantly less. The theater isn't very glamorous, but the screen we watched was fine and the chairs comfortable. Food was well priced and they offered us free water. Neat experience. read more

Starwars opening weekend packed in the small old theater, full house how stupid can they get. Went to see John Wick 2 this evening with my wife. These theaters are in very bad shape. Broken seats, a hand rail completely ripped out of The wall in the theater we were in (7). Very ghetto. I went today with my brother and best friend with the intention of watching 22 jumpstreet I am an adult who was with two 17 year olds.... They did not let us into the move because they need to be accompanied my an adult... and each need to show ID.... UMMMM? What am I? an adult!
