My father decided on that 1st visit that "this was the place for him", and fortunately there was an apartment that would be available to him in a week's time. Unfortunately, as is often the case with elderly parents, we experienced a medical "emergency" with my Dad several days before his scheduled move-in. The amazing team at Abbotswood moved mountains to get him in-house, and under their expert Living Well @ Home skilled nursing care...an answer to our prayer as we could not give him the care he needed. The team at Abbotswood is enthusiastic, respectful, responsive and incredibly professional! The grounds are beautiful! The interiors are updated and bright! The restaurants serve wonderful food, and are accommodating for each resident's particular needs! I doubt you will find anything in the Triad that is even close to the gem that Abbotswood is!

Marian Ragsdale, their Director of Sales and Marketing, met us with a warm welcome. Then what I immediately saw was a bright, cozy gathering room filled with people enjoying one another. All around on the walls I saw beautiful artwork, tastefully incorporated with fine furnishings. It was "swanky." We walked past a dining room where the tables were covered with white tablecloths and set for company. Marian showed us several residential 2-bedroom apartments. They were bright and beautiful. I had seen the floor plans, but they didn't do them justice. Let me just say that if you are considering whether to tour a community, do it for sure. Standing in the middle of each room, I could easily feel myself living there. If that were not enough, the services that they provide - fine dining service, housecleaning, light-bulb changing - anything you are now doing at home they do for you. Lastly, I thought it would feel like hotel living, but I say it's more like living in a neighborhood. I wanted to come home and pack!

Elderly Care the way it should be…read more My 95 year old aunt stayed here very briefly after a lengthy hospital stay. Unfortunately she passed away but came to enjoy the staff and facility during her few weeks there. From a family perspective, they are great to work with, very understanding and flexible. Can't say enough about the care she received. They were attentive, patient, and compassionate. There's a special place in Heaven for the people in this industry and I'm thankful we found them at Country View.

I would never recommend ANYONE put their family member here. When visiting this facility I noticed…read moremold growing in toilet bathrooms, sinks with dirt in them, no visible trashcans, dirt all over the floor, roaches crawling everywhere, mice, etc. I also noticed that the floors looked like they hadn't been moped or swept in ages. I noted that staff were not wearing gloves when assisting patients, they were rude, and not caring. Many of the staff were behind the care base not paying any attention to the residents or they were outside on the patio area smoking. Upper management was also rude and unwilling to talk. Call lights did not work, handrails were sticking and had trash all behind them, and some cats were allowed inside of the building after being outside cats, they were crawling all over everything. This place was not up to par, I don't understand how anyone could let their family live here. Not enough staff to run this building much less take care of the amount of residents they had.
