I live in Tennessee and actually drove down to Granbury to do walk-thru at several other facilities, some of those were nice, some not-as-much. I actually recommended another facility since I didn't know of Mercy Homes at the time. Through some errors in communication with the family, I ended up driving back to Granbury from Tennessee to specifically do another walk-thru at Mercy Homes. My mind was already made up with the other facility, but I wanted to entertain the idea so I came down. Boy I'm glad I did. There are some major major bonuses to this place during the walk-thru that I really liked and appreciated. A.) My mother is very in tune with nature and likes being outside, the other facility I was looking at didn't really have that option. And the version of it that they did required nurse intervention to allow the resident outside to the porch if desired. That's not the case here, there's a secure back-yard that my mom has full access to, and now they are putting up gates to allow resident access to the adjacent house (which is being opened up as the next home in this complex). She can go out there whenever she wants to, and will be able to securely go to the next house as she pleases. No place I went to offered any level of this openness. B.) The staff ratio is outstanding, of course we were the first resident, but each home will have just a few residents with 24/7 staff on-site in that home. My mother was rather 'complicated' when she got there, attempted runs and escapes, and the staff dealt with it fantastically while adjusting medications. They got her balanced out and she was back to being my mom again! I have a feeling that other facilities might have given up on her and just tried to get her to rest. I cannot stress how appreciative I am that the staff here took the time to figure out what my mom needed, they found it and she's now doing great! C.) My mom absolutely loves it here now. She still have pretty obvious dementia, but she's happy now and laughing about it, having as good a time as she can while dealing with this disease. She told me she's worried about being kicked out now since she's doing so well, I told her that's not going to be a problem and not to worry about it. Lol. She loves the staff, they've become friends and legitimately likes hanging out and living at the house. Family came in last week and we all went by to pick up mom, went out to dinner, Bob's on the Square for karaoke night, and a movie. At the end of the night, she's telling us she wants to go back home to Mercy. The staff has no issue now with all this. Absolutely astounded to see the turn-around in my mom, she still has her diagnosis, but she's now living life again and enjoying it. Seriously, you are doing yourself and your family member a disservice by not having this place on your shortlist. When people figure it out, these rooms are going to go fast. SUPER glad we got in at the beginning.

My problems with Texas Health Surgery Center of Cleburne began on September 10, 2025, when I was…read morethere for an injection into my lower back with Dr. Scott Berlin. The pre-operative team was great; however, the problems started with the Anesthesiologist. As I was getting onto the table and the nurse was prepping my lower back, the Anesthesiologist made a very inappropriate comment about my butt. Then, in post-op, I was woken up by the nurse quickly raising the head of the gurney. I then asked the nurse to please lower the head back down, and she refused. I explained it was uncomfortable and was making me dizzy. As the room started to spin, I asked for meds to help with the dizziness, and they refused to provide relief. The post-op team then told me it was time for me to go home and started dressing me. After that, a nurse moved my legs off the gurney and put me in a wheelchair. I told them again that I could not see straight, they responded with "it should pass soon, let us get you to the car. My visit on September 29, 2025, was similar, except that my issues began at check-in. I arrived on time and signed in. However, I was not acknowledged until about an hour after I arrived. I watched as the front desk staff discussed what to have for lunch and prepared for a team photo. Again, the pre-op team was excellent. However, once again, the same Anesthesiologist made the same inappropriate comment about my butt. This time, I did mention to him that the comment was "creepy". In post-op, the same thing happened. I asked to lower my head, and I was told no; it is time to go home. I again was dizzy and the room was spinning. I told the nurse, and she took out my iv and put me in the wheelchair without anything to resolve the dizziness. On October 20, 2025, things got worse. I woke up from my procedure with 10/10 pain. I was given pain meds; however, the pain was still very intense. I was told there was nothing more they could give me, and a nurse tried to take out my IV. I told them no, I was not ready to be discharged because of uncontrolled pain. They offered oral pain meds, but I refused because I needed something more fast-acting. Again, the team told me there was nothing more they could do for me, and it was time for me to leave. I also overheard a nurse tell another member that I was drug seeking. Dr. Berlin then informed me that if I choose, I could go to the ER for pain management, but the facility could not give me anything else. I told him that was fine and asked him to arrange for a transfer. He said, "We do not do that; you will have to go on your own." My last experience was on November 3, 2025. This time, I asked to have my escort in pre- and post op with me due to my past experiences, and I was told by Dr. Berlin that "we do not do that unless you are an infant." The Cleburne Surgery Center website states, "You and your family or escort will stay in the room until it is time for your surgery." As well as "During surgery, your escort will stay in a waiting area and will rejoin you in the recovery area after your surgery." https://cleburnesurgical.com/during-your-stay/check-in-and-admission/ I was then spoken to by Dr. Berlin and the Director of Nursing, and I voiced my concerns about my post-op experience. I was then reprimanded for my actions during the post-op period on October 20, 2025. I tried to explain my actions and that, after how I have been treated, I did not feel safe without a non-biased witness (escort), but was met with veiled threats. During Pre-Op, I was given extra attention to ensure we did not have a repeat of the last visit. I assured them that I am not that person; I need proper pain management and maybe extra time in post-op. They told me that most people only need 15 minutes from when they arrive at post-op to when they leave. Once I got into the OR, the Anesthesiologist jokingly called me a problem child and again commented on my butt and also my choice of underwear. Once I was in post, I was again woken up by the swift raising of my head. I asked the nurse to lower my head, and she stated, "Do not start, you have been counseled." I told her, "You are fired" (meaning that she was no longer in my care team). She said, " No, Im not and called for the DON. By this time, I am in tears. The DON came over and told me what was going on, and I repeated the encounter. I asked again for my head to be lowered because it was uncomfortable for me to sit like that, and she said no, adding that it was time to go home and that I could get comfortable in the car. I asked how long I had been in post-op, and she replied, '30 minutes.' She then starts going over my post op instructions and demands I calm down, stop crying, and sign the instructions. When I leave the facility, I am still crying.

She was busy and said that he could soil himself and she would change him. Every time he needed assistance when she was on duty, she never answered the call light. Sent employees looking for her and they could not locate her. I had to assist him myself. My husband has always handled business himself, but after 3 days here, they put him in diapers. Nursing is so-so. My husband had a bandage put on his arm so tight that when I came in the next day, it swollen to twice it's normal size. Speaking with administration over any issues, they gaslight you and make it sound as if it is you, not them. The business admin acts like he has a medical degree and doesn't even have all of his facts straight. He gets about 10 minutes of rehab a few times a week and only once a day. The food sucks (I tasted it). Even a lady down the hall was yelling for help. She called me into her room when I walked by and asked me to help get her out of that place.

The beds weren't the new technology like the big city hospitals have. Staff was nice, but the wait was crazy! We were scheduled for 0800 for pre op, we didn't get called back untill 1030!!! Wow. That was way longer than any other surgery we've experienced. Tho I can verify if it was a hospital issue or the doctor running behind. The staff was very caring. They followed everything to the T in regard to making sure my wife was set and good to go before they released her. Managed the pain well, and the lady that did the discharge read through almost all of the paper work to make sure we understood. For surgery it was decent.

Went to seek help for my wife that was just bitten by a copperhead snake and she was experiencing extreme pain! She was wearing leather sandals so there was only one puncture wound. The doctor came in measured her leg and left without saying a word. The nurses started talking poorly about him, then one of the nurses told us that my wife didn't get bit by a snake she doesn't know what it was but definitely not a snake. She said this after I showed her a picture of the snake that bit her. Her response was well just because you see a snake doesn't mean you were bit by one. My mouth dropped! My wife was sitting in a chair with her feet propped up on a stool when she put her feet down she was bit and immediately screamed raised her feet again and told me she was bitten by something big. It was dark so I got a flash light when I started to look with the light she spotted the snake by her right foot when I saw it and put the light on it it went under her chair again. I had to take the light off of it before it moved to a safe distance for her to move and for me to take a picture of it with my phone to bring with us to the hospital. Even after telling this so called medical professional everything she still told us that she guaranteed that whatever bit her wasn't the snake that was under her chair! Ridiculous!!! Had we not have been on vacation at the state park and thought I could get her somewhere else I would have left then and there! Hind site I wish I would have! They gave her nothing for pain and even scoffed at her when she couldn't bear weight on it to use the restroom and seemed put out when she retrieved a wheelchair. She spent 6 hours in immense pain and discomfort only to be wheeled out and dropped off at the back of the vehicle where she struggled and almost fell out of the vehicle because she couldn't use her right foot. Don't take anyone you care about to this facility! P.S. The park rangers found the snake at the same campsite the next night under someone else's chair and relocated it.

At the moment there is a change in upper management, so everything is hectic. There are some…read moreamazing nurses and CNAs who are employed there, but the care that is truly needed is not being met due to staffing shortages. Also the pay rate needs to be increased, as the saying goes...you get what you paid for... the current employees are not being paid what they are worth. They do the best they can, which is all they can do.
