Love the converted old farmhouse. You can really feel the history and the character of the building, which enhances the wine tasting experience. It feels like you're visiting the home of an old friend. We particularly enjoy the dry red wines and the sweet wines that Ridgewood offers. For the reds, the Merlot and Cab Franc were noteworthy for their balance and nice finishes. The Merlot was silky, oaky and smooth approach. The Cab Franc is a bit spicier, bolder and robust - wine to pair with a nice, hearty meat dish. On the sweet side of things, the Diamond is a subtle, light choice for those who are prone to be turned-off by heavier, acidic reds. The Peach Splendor is a pleasant surprise with a fresh, light, fruit-forward feel. Pair this with some chocolate squares if you're enjoying it after a meal. The Olde Orchard has a great "fall season" feel, complete with elements of apple pie, a hint of tartness and a blend of sweet. Finally, the Underground is a rising star that everyone seems to be discovering lately. It's a Merlot family member that gains a unique, but delicious flavor thanks to be un-oaked. Elements of blackberry and rose petals, with a semi-sweet finish and a nice, fuller body. This one has a little bit of everything and is probably the most intriguing option on the menu. Very clean. This place is so fun! Just discovered it after moving to Morgantown as we go around Berks County discovering different fun places to visit. We just heard about the Berks County Wine trail and my parents took the kids so we decided to go on a date night and pick the closest winery on the trail. read more

Overpriced and overrated. The wine wasn't that great and the place was decorated like a church basement. Plastic flowers on plastic folding tables with plastic folding chairs... definitely not what I expected to accompany their premium pricing. This is obviously a tourist trap as I can't see anyone returning after making the mistake of stopping here. There are far better options in the area for this sort of thing. read more

$9 for a tiny wine slushee is a bit much IMO. The property is interesting with it's historical appeal. Could use some historical fun facts in each of the rooms to read as you walk around a self guided tour. The bar tender was friendly and did a nice job explaining the property and site history. The wine was ok not great and overpriced. read more

We LOVE it here. The old farmhouse is very charming. We have really enjoyed their tastings. The rooms inside are quaint (could use a little more charm and décor) but the wine was really good. We really enjoyed the slushes in the summer. During their berks county wine and cheese pairing they had their outdoor little fire pits on. It was really nice to sit outside and enjoy. I'm excited to go back and enjoy the outdoor seating on the spring again or on a warmer day. We will definitely go back as they are launching some news wines soon! read more

Tracy and her staff were amazing to work with! We planned a wine tour to raise money for the METAvivor group (breast cancer) and they seamlessly accommodated our large group! They have EXCELLENT wines and exceptional service!! I can't rave enough about this historic/rustic looking winery. I can't wait to visit again. Nice wine tasting with delicious wines. They do not yet have their own vineyard and are fairly new. They said they will be setting up the vineyard for the upcoming year. So far their wines are very smooth and enjoyable. It costs $5 to do a tasting. If you're in the area you should definitely should stop by and check it out! read more

All their dry wines are delicious! Especially the Chardonnay which they use steel barrels & wood chips to make it just slightly oaky. The gentleman that poured for use was very knowledgeable and they make these pretzels that are super addicting! Great place! I'll definitely return with some friends read more

Ridgewood Winery is our go-to for a quiet, fun night out. It's not just a winery, though. Ridgewood is housed in a farmhouse dating back to the 1700s and it IS haunted. Not just rumored to be haunted...like, you-will-have-wine-corks-thrown-at-you-haunted. There is always something going on, be it bingo, painting parties, or ghost hunting. And even if you don't typically like wine, you're bound to find something you like (the Diamond, for example). If you like history, you'll like Ridgewood. If you like wine, you'll like Ridgewood. Went to Ridgewood early evening on a Saturday to do a wine tasting. I was very pleased with the people working there- the man serving us knew a lot about the wines he was serving us and the other staff members were helpful upon entering the wine tasting room. I was very pleased with the wine selection as well; they have a few new selections as well as a summer blush (watermelon based) and a sangria slushy! Overall, I am very happy with this place and would recommend it to anyone in need of a good wine. read more

I recently had my first visit to Ridgewood Winery last month on a recommendation from a friend. What a wonderful experience! From start to finish, we were warmly greeted and indulged in a lovely tasting where everything was explained in a very friendly manner. We then decided to stay longer and enjoy a bottle of wine in one of the rooms at the farmstead. It was decorated for the holiday; very neat and tidy too! Tracy, the owner, came out to check on us several times and the staff were all very kind and accommodating. There was a pretty good crowd that Sunday and the staff went out of their way to make every single person feel welcome and important. I will certainly be a return customer! Oh! And the wine...very good quality! I found some varieties that surprised me, and of course I purchased a few bottles for home. 5 star experience! read more

Came across the Ridgewood Winery at the Libation Celebration event at Allentown Cocktail week on Sunday and the lovely ladies were pouring generous samples of their delicious wines. The wines were really great, I particularly loved the Gewurztraminer (a crisp, dry white) and the blueberry one. It sounds like they have some really unique events at the location (murder mystery nights, concerts - all with delicious wine???) that I definitely want to travel out for. If you're in the area definitely worth a stop in. read more
