Täsch is just between Zermatt and the lovely village of Randa. Many just use it as a base to go…read moreskiing or pass it on the way to Zermatt. But if you got a little time on your hands, be sure to spend a while here. There is a wonderful trail going along the river. Especially in winter it's a magical place. Easiest way to access is to walk from the train station a bit north, then there's a small bridge crossing the river near the Camping Site Alphubel. It's a very easy walk and not really busy at all, which is a surprise because it's a great little walk. It's mostly very flat, so suitable for almost everybody. They take care of this trail very well, it even can be done if you have a stroller with (and a bit extra strength to push). Follow the trail to the small Schalisee (Lake Schali) where you can cross the bridge and go back to Täsch on the other side. Or just follow the same way back. The trail does continue though. You could walk all the way to Randa. A beautiful trail through Winterwonderland. A nice and quiet escape from the busy (but fun) streets of Zermatt.

Allen and Erik were our pilots, and they took care of us from the base to the take-off point and made sure we were fully prepared and we had a blast! We got the best views that most tourists don't ever get to see! Totally worth it! Make sure to bring hiking boots and there is likely to be snow during take-off! Makes walking through it so much easier. BTW, Allen is hilarious, so if he's your pilot he will make you laugh!

I also preferred their locking carabiners to others I have used. Kudos to Zermatters too for sending us to them when I just wanted to rent gear and not hire their guides.

0 stars if I could . They gave my son a board with loose bindings. The screws were not correct for…read morethe bindings so trying to tight them at the lift was useless. Then the next day my husband wanted to upgrade to VIP board they gave him a broken Bindings, he had to ride the gondola all the way back. If ruined his whole half day. They don't want to compensate him for the lose cost of his lift or anything. They are horrible they need to do quality control before giving out shitty broken boards . BOOts were mid to horrible quality dare I say they were SHIT. They won't wax my board in the morning either. Boot size selection was poor slim to no options. After these issues we returned all out gear and went to Julen Sports, who are amazing!

This trail here in Saas Fee is a fantastic thing to do. The trail is well taken care of, in winter…read moreseason full with snow, but easy to walk on. With a stroller or wheelchair quite difficult to do though. You'll need a bit of extra-strength. To find this lovely trail just walk from the bus station/car parking down to the gorge with the FeeVispa running through it, cross the bridge and there you are. The trail leads to Saas-Almagell, but you can head back to Saas Fee anytime. In the beginning the trail leads you through a small forest and the opens up with some nice views of Saas Fee and the Valley. A couple of benches are on the way, perfect for some photo ops or to rest your legs. Snow around you, snow under your feet, a blue sky. It's heaven. Truly a magical Winter Wonderland. And it's a free activity. There weren't that many visitors around, which was suprising, but also a good thing. It's calm, it's quiet, it's peaceful. When in Saas Fee and you got a little time on your hands, be sure to check this trail out. Alone, as a couple, with familiy. It's something for everybody. There's a nice restaurant on the way as well: the Waldhüs Bodmen.
