Visited mid April…read more Five to seven minutes walk from Interlaken Ost you will reach Interlaken Harderbahn, funicular that will take you atop in 10 minutes. Paid two tickets for $32.84 with our hotel discount. Views are stunning! You can enjoy the beauty of Interlaken, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the famous Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks in one spot. There's the overhanging viewing platform with glass floor to bring the viewing experience to the next level. Restaurant and hiking trails are available. Highly recommended while in Interlaken!

Yelp Review 2026 #125:…read more Harder Kulm was only a 5-minute walk from our hotel. The front desk told us it's a nice place to visit and gave us a discount coupon for 15% off tickets. We got a 50% discount for tickets because of the Swiss Travel Pass so we used that instead. Be sure to get roundtrip tickets so you don't have to stand in line again to buy a ticket to go back down. It had been raining on and off the days we were in Interlaken. There's thick fog the afternoon we went. Normally, it's foggy in the morning and clears up in the afternoon. We went to the station to take the funicular to the top of the hill. It was a short 10-minute ride. It was raining and foggy but we stayed until it cleared up a bit. There's a restaurant, a viewing deck, a little park, some wooden sculptures. You can see both Thunersee and Brienzersee. I had already been to both in the morning so, I wasn't pressed about not having a clear view of the two lakes when I went to Harder Kulm.

Yelp Review 2026 #123:…read more Jungfraujoch is a must-visit if you're in Interlaken...or Zurich even! My first trip to Zurich was in February several years ago, I took a bus to Interlaken and 2 trains (Grindelwald, and Jungfraujoch) - it's not complicated. It's an easy day trip from Zurich, and a half a day trip if you're already in Interlaken. From Interlaken Ost, it's a train ride to Grindelwald, a gondola ride to Eigergletscher via Eiger Express then a train ride to Jungfraujoch. Traveling in the spring can be unpredictable. Sometimes it's raining all day, it could snow, it could be extremely foggy. Your hotel in Interlaken has a channel where you can watch the live cam of Jungfraujoch so you can see if it's worth going or not. It's almost always foggy early in the morning during spring but it clears out by around 10am...sometimes, it doesn't. Once you get off the Jungfraujoch station, you can read information about the place. How the place keeps getting warmer due to climate change. The Research Station Jungfraujoch is the highest in Europe and in the world. Elevation is over 11,000 feet above sea level. There are movies/ shows that were filmed here. So, it gets pretty crowded. You have to go to the Sphinx Observatory where you can see the Alps and Aletsch Glacier from outside. On a clear day, you can see Germany and France. You can walk in the snow. There's a cafe, a Lindt store and a gift shop. You'll see some cute ice sculptures.

We got lucky we booked it on a day that it was not foggy/cloudy. Bucket list, checked! What a memorable experience. Amazing views on our way to Jungfraujoch. Tour is little pricey and crowded BUT totally worth it! Enjoyed every moment touring inside Ice Palace while collecting amazing memories at Spinx Observation Tower and Plateau. Just to be aware of the altitude sickness Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Drink plenty of water.

It is open everyday from March 15th to November 15th, and can be seen for 8 CHF. If you take the train to St. Maurice, you need to take a short walk out of town, and about a 10 minute walk up a hill to see the cave. At the entrance to the cave is a cafe with a nice terrace, you can grab a bite of something to eat. I didn't try the cafe, so not able to provide a review for the food. Once inside the cave you walk through a narrow twisting passage for about 1,500 feet, and as you get closer you can hear the thundering water grow louder. Supposedly there are 63 twists and turns along the passage. I don't remember there being that many, but I do remember their being several. I went during the spring time as the snow was melting, which is the best time to come, as the waterfall is even more impressive. I do remember the passage being wet and needing to be careful to watch out for puddles along the way. After the final twist you come to an opening and I remember being overwhelmed by the size of the large waterfall crashing down inside the cave. The sound of the water was deafening. I wouldn't have been able to hear anyone talking to me in the room. I tried to take pictures inside, but it was very difficult to get a picture of the 50 meter- 77 meter high waterfall (the height seems to be arguable, as I have read different resources claiming different heights). I would definitely come back. The only silly thing is that whoever the current owners are, went and did something stupid. In accordance with the name of the cave, the owners put up barbie doll fairies along the path inside the cave leading up to the waterfall. Thankfully their is no stupid plastic barbie to ruin the beauty of the waterfall, and the waterfall itself erased the memory of the plastic silliness for the duration of time I was admiring the falls.

We stayed here as a family (including a child) and would not book again. It was our fourth year in Saas-Fee and we've always had good experiences there until this year. In fact, if anything was available at the time on short notice (we were there during new years) - I would have paid double in order NOT to stay there. Getting there / finding it was a problem: On arrival there were no taxis available, and in the dark--carrying luggage (and ski gear)--we couldn't find the property as it on the outskirts and very high uphill. We ended up calling several times and exchanging photos just to locate it. That's a bad start, but it got a lot worse. The access path to the property is outright dangerous in winter: The approach to the apartment was basically a vertical sheet ice, part of it a very steep incline followed by a path which was also covered in ice. This was genuinely hazardous--especially if you have a child, heavy bags, or ski equipment (we ticked all those boxes). A winter rental needs safe access. I ended up carrying 40 kilograms of luggage up the slope and falling several times before finally arriving to the appartement. I had hiking boots on. Our bag was totally destroyed as were we arrived. Also our child fell several times during the week that we stayed there. No hot water (and gaslighting by owners when reported): We didn't have hot water for two days on December 31st and January 1st, and couldn't even wash our kid for new years celebration. Initially, the owners brushed us off saying they had not received any complaints from the other apartments. As if we don't know what cold water feels like. The "explanation" we got was basically that there is one boiler shared across three apartments and in "rare cases" you may simply be without hot water until later in the day. What really crossed the line was the communication: instead of owning the issue, it felt dismissive, and came across as gaslighting--as if we were imagining the problem or didn't understand what we were experiencing. We were not asking for a debate; we were asking for a basic utility to work or an immediate solution as we were there with child. Later on the owners admitted that something had gone wrong. They offered us "compensation" in the form of paying the tourist tax (CHF 13,5 in total...). This felt extremely insulting in the light of the fact we paid several thousands for this property for a week. What a mockery. A family holiday in peak season in Saas Fee costs several thousand CHF in addition to the property expenses. Location is far from the slopes/village Be aware: walking to the ski area / village is roughly 30-40 minutes, and the walk back uphill is very heavy, especially if you're carrying groceries or ski gear. Fine if you're training for an alpine ultramarathon, not fine if you're trying to have a normal ski holiday with a child that gets tired after a day of skiing. Taxis are expensive and not always available. They're about CHF 45 per trip if you can get one, but they're not always available. We ended up paying up to CHF 180 per day going to and from the ski area. Property Bedroom and toilet are situated next to each other and separated by a large window, so if you turn on the light at night when going tot the toilet, the light will also be visible in the large family bedroom (all 4 beds are in one room). Expect to be woken up several times a night. Also, there was no sauna in our apartment contrary to the pictures (we did know this upfront).
