I knew from previous dentist visits that my wisdom teeth were ok and I felt hustled so I never went back. Today's Family Dental took me in and told me exactly what needed to be done without trying to milk my bank account. They made accommodations to get my work done before my vacation so I would no longer have any tooth pain and could enjoy myself. The staff was great and a special shoutout to Amy for going the extra mile to get me in and also keeping me calm throughout the procedure. Dr. Cook had a wonderful southern accent that helped keep me calm and made sure to reassure me throughout the procedure that everything was going great. Keep up the great work! You have solidified my future business and I will always recommend them to anyone who asks!

However, my last visit, the front desk made a mistake, and charged me for my routine cleanings, that were covered by my insurance. I paid it, but didn't think about it right away. After discussion with my wife, I went back for a filling, and requested my monies to be put back onto my CC. I was told they didn't have the ability to do that, and would write me a check. That was over six weeks ago. Every time I have asked, I am told the office manager was not in. I would think that after six weeks, I should have been re-imbursed. I really like the staff, but regretfully, We will be taking our dental needs elsewhere in town. I will be stopping by tomorrow to see if they have my check ready. This is not the way to conduct a reputable business.

It was the absolute WORST EXPERIENCE EVER: I am 66 and this dentist - Andre Cardoso and his office person named Ave could not have done more damage yesterday at his new (February) office in Grand Junction where he practices one day a week. Without meeting me or speaking to me (which was promised), he canceled a long overdue and anxiously awaited appointment (my initial Medicare got messed up around the pandemic) that was made to simply have an exam, xrays and a pano 3D and a cleaning. I based my entire decision on an Aetna Medicare Advantage plan policy on the fact that the appointment was made, paperwork sent, appointment confirmed by virtue that he is (maybe soon to be was?) an Aetna affiliated dentist. They canceled the appointment and gave it to someone else a week later (yesterday) and a week out (in summer when offices are booked way out) with no explanation and turned completely deaf ears and cold, dead hearts to the catastrophic result. I am now forced to scramble and get the urgent dental exam (serious pain, possible infection) through a non-Aetna dental office which would have been 100% covered if I kept the original choice in plans that I changed the same day with a new application on the final day of the quarter (May 31.) based upon this appointment June 14. I will be charged 50% of all fees for an 'out of network' dentist now (which is ludicrous considering I was thinking they were lovely and a miracle office.) I will be following through with a Small Claims Court filing if he refuses to pay the charges that his office will have me incur - and I wonder why he would jeopardize a new practice (and give a black eye to the retired dental practice he bought to build up a GJ clientele) as the two of them are 100% responsible for me having any charges. Aetna would have paid all his office charges - and I would finally have understood by the pano exactly what the diagnosis and prognosis was and begin to find a resolution. They claimed they don't have the expertise to solve the problem (which, remember, he hadn't seen me or a current picture of my jaw bone, etc) and therefore, he wouldn't do a simple, basic exam to shed light on the pain that prevents me from chewing on that side. I wasn't looking for a specialist: I was looking to siply finad out what was going wrong. A terrible experience and a very vocal enemy to make: I was prepared to sing his praises, his receptionist Ave and I knowing how serendipitous the appointment was and instead, I find myself wanting to tell the entire Grand Junction, Montrose, Delta, Olathe, Cedarege and beyond communities to avoid this practice like the plague. I implored them to honour their word and simply see me and take the 100% paid by insurance fees and counsel me what to do/where to go for relief/assistance. Nada. Very poor customer service/business practice. I don't see this business making it in a community where word of mouth and reviews make a difference. Shame on a 'doctor' for ignoring whatever 'Hippocratic-type Oath' the dental providers sign. I have been mercilessly and nausea and insomnia inducing yesterday harmed by such cruel indifference. If I could give them both negative 5 stars I would.

I paid $170 for each child for a dental assistant to run a toothbrush over their teeth and take a peek with a mirror. the staff is very nice, but they are not dental hygienists. Please don't bring your kids here for a cleaning. take them to a place staffed with actual dental hygienists.

Dr. Glass at Urnise dentistry ruined my teeth…read more Dr. Urnise and I had discussed replacing the veneers on my 2 front teeth because they were old and starting to crack. It was end of year and I had money left in my HSA so I made an appt. Dr.Urnise was booked out for over 2 months so they made my appointment with Dr. Glass. Without any discussion, instead of replacing my veneers with new veneers, he replaced them with crowns. I look like I have beaver teeth. The crowns are a horrible color. When discussing color, I told them to make the new veneers match the old ones, they did not.,They are too large and are pushing 2 of my teeth out of place. They ride in my bottom lip and I am constantly trying to move my lip out from under my teeth. They rub the inside of my lip making it raw at times and now one of the teeth that is being pushed out of place is also rubbing the inside of my mouth. I have tried to adjust to them and just make it work. It doesn't work. I finally made an appt with another dentist and we will see if I have any options other than implants. Since the pain kept coming and going I decided to hold off doing anything until the next week -- that is, until Friday when the pain started to be explosive. Then, I was ready to take action! The problem is that all dental and endodontics offices are closed on Friday. I called the emergency number for the doctor and shortly after Dr Clark called me back and told me to meet her at noon. I felt terrible about interfering with her day off but she couldn't have been more accommodating. When I arrived, Dr Clark whisked me into the office and took care of me in a wonderfully pain-free manner. Since she was alone, she did not to do the entire root canal but just did the part of the procedure that would alleviate the pain. I am the biggest baby when it comes to dental work. Dr. Clark's manner was reassuring and she took care of me. People, if you need an endodontist, she's the one to see. In addition to her expertise, she is a sweet upbeat gal who I wouldn't mind having a cuppa coffee with! I wholeheartedly recommend her. I go back on Monday to get the procedure finished and I know I'm going to bring her some kind of gift. How many people want to give a present to an endodontist??? That's how good she is.
