Dr. Glass at Urnise dentistry ruined my teeth…read more Dr. Urnise and I had discussed replacing the veneers on my 2 front teeth because they were old and starting to crack. It was end of year and I had money left in my HSA so I made an appt. Dr.Urnise was booked out for over 2 months so they made my appointment with Dr. Glass. Without any discussion, instead of replacing my veneers with new veneers, he replaced them with crowns. I look like I have beaver teeth. The crowns are a horrible color. When discussing color, I told them to make the new veneers match the old ones, they did not.,They are too large and are pushing 2 of my teeth out of place. They ride in my bottom lip and I am constantly trying to move my lip out from under my teeth. They rub the inside of my lip making it raw at times and now one of the teeth that is being pushed out of place is also rubbing the inside of my mouth. I have tried to adjust to them and just make it work. It doesn't work. I finally made an appt with another dentist and we will see if I have any options other than implants. A few years ago, I was seen here by Dr. Bowen while experiencing severe flu-like symptoms. I also had a bite on my arm that appeared a few days before I became very sick. I specifically showed him the bite and asked whether it could be related to my symptoms. His response was "No, I think you just have COVID. Go to City Market and get a test." I was then sent out the back door. Why he couldn't test me there I have no idea.... I followed his instructions, got tested elsewhere, and the result was negative. Dr. Bowen was rude, dismissive, and made me feel uncomfortable, as if my symptoms weren't valid or worth taking seriously. Over the years that followed, my health continued to decline. I became progressively sicker. It has since been confirmed that I have chronic Lyme disease. Luckily I had taken a photo of the bite and when I showed the physician who diagnosed me with Lyme the same bite I had shown Dr. Bowen that day, they confirmed it was consistent with a Lyme tick bite along with proper testing. Had this been properly evaluated at the time, my illness may have been caught early and treated before progressing into a chronic, life-altering condition. Instead, I am now living with a lifelong disease that could potentially have been prevented with appropriate medical attention. The dismissal of my symptoms and the failure to investigate a possible tick-borne illness had serious and lasting consequences for my health. I cannot believe this is my reality now. I hope this review encourages more thorough evaluations and genuinely patient-centered care in the future, because what I experienced here was dismissive, incompetent, and a complete failure of medical care.
