It's pretty safe. We do it every time we go. The hardest part is swimming back against the current. But anyone who is a mildly decent swimmer can handle it. I'm no champion swimmer and I can swim it without any problems- my 9 year old did it too with a little help.

I love that I could sit at one table and see both of the play areas so my older kid could run back and forth from playground to splash pad. Several people were on their lunch break either eating or stretching their legs along the paths. I've never been to a park that has so many art sculptures throughout. They were all animals either as groups or solo and they were lovely. I took a lot of pictures of the sculptures. The sound of the falls from everywhere was so relaxing and peaceful. We strolled from one side to the other and spent a couple of hours just enjoying the scenery. I love days like that!
