There was a ton of rotting wood and I needed it completely fixed to not only look great before getting an exterior paint job, but also to PASS INSPECTION. I have gone through extensive research when picking contractors.. maybe 7-8 quotes for each job, including everything to flooring to counters to Paint. When it came to carpentry I was surprised on how hard it was to find consistent quotes. My job was for the most part very vague, Please fix select boards with wood rot on a giantic overhanging patio so that it will look good for paint and also pass inspection. Most people didn't know where to even start it was so bad. Others told me not to waist my time and just completely remove the structure as it will save me money. Others came in as a low bid and seemed optimistic, but when time came for work they had no license. No bueno. Moises on the other hand was what I was looking for. Someone competent who actually understood how to handle the job and articulated it to me properly. Moises actually stuck to his original timeline, and involved me in decision making as the project progressed. On the final day after project was completed, I was surprised to see that he actually replaced/repaired more of the work than I originally thought needed. It was refreshing to work with a contractor who DIDNT try to cut corners. He also cleaned up on both days after his work really well. I had heard horror stories from other people who had remodeled and had problems of various kinds with contractors, so I was a little squeamish about the whole thing. But Carnik was recommended to me and I felt immediately comfortable with Nick and Carly from the start. I have zero designing skills, but Nick and Carly had great suggestions for the design of the upgrades. It was a big project, involving quite a bit of demolition; all new interior doors and closet doors; all new dual-paned windows in white vinyl retrofits; all new flooring--tile, carpet, and laminate--throughout the entire house, a conversion of one huge bonus room into two bedrooms, with a new walk-in closet; all new electrical outlets and switches; substantially remodeled bathrooms, especially as to the light fixtures and a new tiled shower/bath, and a lot of painting and texturing throughout the house; and glazed and repainted security windows and security door for the ground level windows and slider. CRD was fair and reasonable as to pricing, and the high work ethic was evident from start to finish. Time-wise, there were no lulls in the project; CRD had workers and subs here virtually every day to complete the project per our time table established at the beginning. It also meant something to me that CRD's subs had nothing but the utmost respect for CRD and its principals. Nick kept constant contact with me throughout the entire work effort. I now have a model home! I simply cannot imagine being happier with my remodeled house and the contractor who transformed it into this beautiful home! Nick and Carly are very conscientious and energetic, good people. I have absolutely no misgivings about hiring them to upgrade my whole house.
