So I requested they only send her. She was fantastic and took time with my mother. I also care for my 1 year old granddaughter so the help was appreciated. Most of the time the caregiver did not know if she was supposed to report to us or not. She was confused. They said they would not send a new worker each time but did. Patience suffering with dementia need to see consistency and she did not get this. They sent a different caregiver practically every time. One time the cancelled the charges because it happened. Some of the caregivers worked on homework 80% of the time and sat in the house while my mom sat outside. I set up automatic payments for my convenience. They withdrew whenever a payment came due. They are very expensive. The last withdraw would not go through. I called the bank and they said they were trying to send it to her checking account. I told them several times she did not have a checking. Then they told me to send a check to the address they sent. Why should I because you all don't follow directions and submit a payment correctly? So I called the bank again and was told the same thing again. I emailed them to have them resubmit it. I just want to be done with this company. I did my research and they did not deliver.

BrightStar Care of East Lansing is NOT a company you want to work for, they will force you to stay…read morepast your scheduled time because they hire people without transportation, they literally provide an uber account to their employees and they still don't show up when they're supposed to, they will hire you in at their base pay rate and expect you to do CNA work when you're not even certified for that, they say that they have competitive wages but all of the other health agency's in the Lansing area are starting at more an hour, when you give them over a week notice about taking a shift off they will force you to still do it and make you take even more hours, when i was first hired i was supposed to have 2 days off a week until i was getting calls at all hours of the day to take extra shifts and i was working 2 shifts a day 7 days a week, don't get hurt while working for this company either because they will viciously yell at you and be rude, i had to call the office for a week and a half straight for 3 separate clients because their needs weren't being met, i was manually hoyering a 400lb man by myself for over a month before i was injured, made multiple attempts to get someone to help me and they refused, the only incentive you will receive while working for this company is weekly pay, save your time and work for a company that is legit and cares about the quality of care for clients over money..

Often the available staff members know very little about your loved ones condition, it's impossible to talk to a doctor and the nurses change so much that they don't usually know much. They are quite nice though and that's good. The facility is old and dirty. The floor in my sister's room was never cleaned in the three weeks she was there. Bloody, dirty linens were left sitting around in a pile for three days until a family member said something. The worst thing was that they took almost 4 full days to sign off on her passing, exceeding the 48 hour time limit and holding up the process of moving forward with her remains. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! If you can go elsewhere, DO!
