Right at Home has been VERY helpful for us and my 89y.o. legally blind mom who is living in our attached granny unit. Mom was quite reticent about starting any type of home health but Right at Home has been there for us when we need them and then some! The staff is all very caring and patient. They have flexible scheduling and only a 4hr minimum when they do come for a visit which is great. No weekly or monthly minimums which was very helpful for us. My mother in law was a client for the last year of her life. She had dimentia and could definitely be a handful. On good days she was quirky and funny and easy to be with but the bad days were....bad. Karla, her caregiver was wonderful with her. She seemed to have endless patience and never lost her smile. When we needed extra care Nicole, in the office, was always very efficient and helpful and most important, she is very kind. I didn't work with Becky as much but she was great too. RAH has provided excellent care for my mother-in-law who is 93, frail, and quite stubborn and challenging to care for. The caregivers are competent, responsive, and caring. Carol and Robert make an excellent team and provide fantastic, positive support for their clients, employees, and for family members like us. When problems have arisen, they solve them efficiently. We have had caregivers cancel at the last minute and they always found someone to cover, including the nurse or themselves. We have had to modify the type of care my mother-in-law receives more than once, involving multiple changes in staffing - from part time care, to round the clock care, to 12 hours a day, and then to 8 hours a day. Twice the changes have been abrupt. In every instance they found good care and rapidly. We've seen quite a variety of staff members because of this. We have no complaints and much praise for their hard work in a challenging environment. read more

RAH has been superb for us. My wife has early onset Alzheimer's and Lewy Body dementia. She is in excellent health otherwise, therefore quite active and sometimes difficult to handle. The care-givers that RAH have provided us have been excellent. My wife has never been a home-body, she likes to go out. The care-givers take her on walks, they go out to lunch, and they go shopping together. My wife can no longer remember names (including mine), but she still recognizes faces, and when the care-givers arrive she literally jumps up and down with excitement. The staff at RAH is likewise excellent. Robin, the care manager, comes by frequently to make sure we are satisfied with the care and to answer any questions or concerns we may have, and also to offer suggestions on how we might improve my wife's quality of life. Nicole provides excellent coverage of scheduling issues, letting us know if any of the care-givers might be late or sick and finding coverage if necessary, or finding coverage for those times when we need unscheduled help, All in all, we've found RAH to be very responsive, and very empathetic as well as efficient at providing for our care needs. RAH was the perfect match for my active 89 year old Mom who needed a companion for a few hours a day during the week. Mom lived with her family, yet needed companionship, some help with showering, and the opportunity go get out of the house on weekdays. Therese was Moms companion; they took walks, went grocery shopping, visited local parks and galleries, went out for lunch or tea, and always had lunch together whether out or at home. Their bond helped my Mom to comfortably continue to be in the world. Therese always showed my Mom respect, interest in her life and experiences, and helped with Moms memory by looking at photographs, asking questions and demonstrating a desire to know the woman on a deep level. Mom passed recently, her last several months were so much more comfortable and meaningful thanks to the care and independence Therese and RAH provided. read more

Two weeks after hiring Right at Home, I got a call one hour AFTER an evening shift was suppose to start. I was told, after so many excuses that I had to interrupt and find out if something had happened to my father, that the caregiver couldn't make it and they couldn't find a replacement. Huh. In addition, they initially had no staff for weekend shifts, so I hired a separate agency who had no trouble supplying weekend caregivers. They now have all of our business and Right at Home has been let go. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Right at Home. We arranged assistance for my 96-year-old father who was not anxious to admit he needed help. They were patient, kind and really listened to him as we worked out his care. They were flexible and visited many times. He especially liked Linda and she was very supportive. My 89 year old Mom was fortunate enough to receive the very best care from Right at Home. Mom was a very active and engaged woman, who spent seven months with the lovely Therese; their days included grocery shopping, visits to the hair salon, daily walks, trips to local parks where my mother of eight had the opportunity to enjoy watching the little ones play, and chat with the parents, sharing her wisdom and enriching her own experiences. Whether they were out and about, or sharing a quiet day at home watching an old movie, the hours my Mom had with Therese were companionable, and helped my husband and I attend to our daily responsibilities without feeling that Mom was lonely or in need in any way.
