I have never met a nastier chilling piece of work then the intake women from At Home Nursing. Before she left our home in Santa Rosa she promised to send someone the next morning, Nobody came and nobody called. Several years ago I met several nurses who worked for At Home Nursing for a short time. They were wonderful people, however, they also strongly disliked and avoided this same women whenever possible. Some of the providers are truly amazing (really went out of their way to connect to my grandparents on a personal level as well as figuring out preferences) but this was a rare exception. Most providers do not seem to have proper training and told us that they weren't able to do the basic tasks that were in my grandfathers care plan, and gave attitude. The people running the business were dismissive and defended their staff (to be expected) while we had other home health providers, family, and neighbors as witnesses to the significant issues taking place (that were never corrected). read more

They take the time to review every caregiver to make sure that they are well skilled, and orient them with a staff of senior, experienced caregivers, and nurses. The owner oversees care of every client and makes sure that the family is a part of every decision make on behalf of the client being cared for. There is a reason that this agency has been a vital part of Sonoma County for 21 yrs, they care, and know what they are doing. At Home Nursing and their team were critical in helping my Father who was suffering from dementia and beginning stages of Alzheimers. The company is a joke. I would not recommend anyone to use or work for this company.. The nurses weren't given a lot of training and didn't have good things to say about management. At Home Nursing has been assisting my sister for a number of years. They have helped her get additional funding, take her to doctor appointments, took her to get glasses and dental care. I live in Washington and am only able to get to California once a year. At Home Nursing has been a godsend for me. They stay in frequent contact with me to keep me posted on how she is doing, and if there are any issues that need to be addressed. They also arrange for conference calls when she has doctor appointments so that I can discuss her situation directly with the doctors. I have found At Home Nursing to be very caring and my sister is very fond of the staff. read more

The worst!!! No background checks!!!! My aging father recently was released from the hospital and this agency sent a person to care for him. We were assured they do thorough background check but for 8 months the person who was sent, robbed my parents blind. Since he was in the house alone for several hours a day, he had plenty of opportunity to search through every drawer and closet looking for valuables. He stole over $20,000 just in jewelry. He eventually spent a year in jail but that didn't bring back my mothers sentimental jewelry or silver or any other items he stole. This person had the nerve to sit across the table from my father every day, looking him in the eyes, knowing that he was robbing him blind. We treated this man as if he were a family member. After his arrest, the sheriff discovered that he had been reported for theft in several other states. A thorough background check would have revealed this and my parents would not have been violated. The owner is arrogant and was non sympathetic. Shame on you!!!!!! I would not hire these people to watch my dog let alone a loved one. I also have a close nurse friend who worked for this agency and she confirmed that they are unprofessional and unscrupulous. If you love and value your elderly parents, please, don't use this agency. They don't protect the elderly. Absolutely as bad as it gets!!!! read more

Things have changed with this company in the last year., All for the better. I know Carolyn, the Marketing gal, and we sat down to chat about things recently. At home nursing has provided Blood Pressure check days at several senior communities for free and they continue to provide consistent caregivers for people in their home as well as Independent communities like Oakmont Gardens. There has been tremendous growth in the way they manage their team and back ground checks are a must in this day and age. They are a reputable company in Sonoma County and you have the opportunity to Interview caregivers before you sign up. Give them a try. read more

I used At Home Nursing for in home care of my elderly father. All of the staff were competent, compassionate and professional. Once we got the kinks out of scheduling the service was dependable and appropriate. The caregivers provided excellent care and we never had any problems with staff or management. My mother always was set in her ways and wasn't sure she wanted strangers in her house, but from the first introductions she felt comfortable and commented on how helpful "her girls" were. It sure was a blessing to myself and my brother to know she was being taken care of when we couldn't be there regularly. We were more fortunate in that the two companions for my husband were wonderful. They both left for better paying jobs and from that point everything was a disaster. I am the sole caretaker of my husband who suffers from PCA -- similar to Alzheimer's Disease. I was given inadequate notice of replacements, told I would have to pay to have them trained by the former companions or I could accept a senior staff member to train. The new nurse (the one we started with had also left the business -- we were never told about this until the end) had not updated my husband's care plan. It was significantly out of date as his condition has changed. This is too bad because the owner and senior staff use a primitive manual system for scheduling and billing. We were happy with our helpers and after trying to resolve issues unsuccessfully, we had to terminate this company's services. Our lives are just too fragile right now to have play games with incompetent management and administration. read more
