Initially the company was wonderful and they followed their guidelines and treated patients and employees wonderfully which is why i joined the company. This is no longer the case. I have seen a drop in quality work with trhe client and money is now the bottom line and no longer the client. Sun City office is run by New Jersey management and are not familiar with this area at all. I would've said go with Bayada Home Health therapy three years ago but now I would say go with anybody else.

Protocol is to contact us to notify where he is taken. About 11:30 am I received a call from my father that he was taken by ambulance to the local hospital. I contacted Aston Gardens and spoke to Bill. The security person missed contacting us. Information was passed on to another person to write a report and call us. Today is 26 Nov 2023 at 10:30 am and no one has contacted us. My father has been a resident for over six years. When he moved there management was more caring and this place was wonderful to live at. Budgets have been cut thus shortcuts in many departments including staff, weekly apt cleaning (he lives in a 2 bedroom 2 bath with a 45 minute limit to clean and wash sheets), food quality is mediocre, no hot breakfast except oatmeal. Recently the health department shut the dining room and during the hurricane no transformer so all the residents lost whatever food they had. It is disappointing that my father and other residents have to put up with this. 11:53 am

Although I live in Ohio, I have visited a friend who is a resident at Aston Gardens three times in…read morethe past year. My impressions that follow are based on about 15 days of participating in some of the daily activities, meeting dozens of residents and generally eating two meals a day in the main dinning room. Also as a baseline, I live in retirement community (CCRC) which is fairly similar to the living style of Aston Gardens. On my very first visit in February, 2013 at my first breakfast meal, I was introduced to 5-6 men by my friend and we joined their table. After almost two hours at the table, I walked away thinking that I cannot remember the last time I have enjoyed myself so much with new friends. Most of all, they made me feel very welcome to Aston Gardens and all went out of their way to speak to me individually. During my 5 day visit, I met many more residents, visited some in their apartments, some in the pool, some in golf carts and lots on the sidewalk and hallways. Because of the very diverse population, it seemed I was always bumping into folks that I had something in common with and all seemed willing to share their backgrounds. I returned in early August, 2013 and was warmly received by those that I met earlier in the year. I had the opportunity during all my visits to see the Assisted Care facility since my friend's spouse is a resident in this separate building. My impression was the Assisted Care service is excellent. You will never forget the handsome dog who will often meet you at the front entrance. My most recent visit this week, February 28, 2014 is no different than my past experience. I feel very much a part of Aston Gardens and look forward to many more visits. On a special note is that I was able to attend a monthly resident meeting after a specially prepared breakfast that was held by the Director of Aston Gardens At The Courtyards. There were nearly 200 in attendance. Toward the end of the meeting, the residents were asked if they had any questions, complains, suggestions and etc. I was very impressed with the constructive remarks by residents but most of all, I hardly heard any complaints. It seemed to me that this group was very satisfied with the management of Aston a gardens. If I did not have 5 children and 10 grandchildren in the Ohio area, I would pack my bags and become a resident immediately here at Aston Gardens.

However, 'aging in place' may happen, but there is very little attention given to residents with health issues unless you have great insurance and they will send the resident to therapy 3 times a week. If you want to use your own pharmacy, good luck. Again, they deal in volume and if you do not fall into standard operating procedures, prepare to make a lot of calls and visits to make sure things happen correctly. During this COVID pandemic, I could not get anyone in the marketing or business office to answer the phone--always sent to voicemail. They do have an automated system to give you generic updates, but good luck with talking to an individual to get any questions or issues you may have addressed. I ended up moving my elderly parent from this facility as quickly as I could due to the 100% isolation--including all meals delivered to the residents. They have little to no contact with anyone and have to stay in their rooms.

I also understand that many people don't seek help because of a real or imagined social stigma to doing so. However, I believe it's important for all of us to share reliable resources that may be helpful to others in need of emotional healing or support. I chose the Holistic Mental Health Clinic as a resource for emotional healing, particularly in the area of post-traumatic stress. I was hesitant to make an appointment anywhere, and I am fortunate that I chose this clinic. The clinic provides a professional and safe environment in a medium-sized office building located in St Peterburg, Florida. It is located in a partly-residential area of the city on a main street where parking is not a problem. There is a dedicated parking lot next to the building that offers free parking. My experience at this clinic was rewarding. My counselor, Lynn, was very professional, intelligent, capable, thorough, and caring. I found Lynn to be reliable, dependable, well-grounded, and honest at all times. Lynn added professional guidance and value to my healing process and she taught me coping skills that were proven, balanced and effective. Lynn was never judgmental. She always had my best interests as her primary objective. Lynn never promised unrealistic expectations, and she skillfully facilitated my healing process emotionally, physically, and spiritually by offering insightful and proven strategies that I could adapt to my lifestyle. Although Lynn was an essential part of my healing process for whom I will always be extremely grateful, the professional relationship we had between us was based on self-empowerment and mutual cooperation, not dependence. She presented opportunities for healing and learning, but never encouraged me to do more than I was comfortable doing. She identified challenge areas that I had not seen, and gently but confidently encouraged me to push through areas of discomfort and challenge myself when I felt ready. As far as my expectations as to outcome, Lynn created mutually agreed upon goals for my sessions, clarifying both health-related and cost-related expectations. She never cut my sessions short. All my expectations were either met to my satisfaction or exceeded. My health insurance does not cover counseling, but my overall spiritual, emotional and physical well-being is something that I value and I juggled my budget to afford this investment in myself. I have never regretted that I did so and the results I experienced were both impressive and have been on-going. The clinic was at all times transparent in its billing practices, accepted credit cards as payment, and accommodated my scheduling and budget concerns to the extent it could do so. Like many professional organizations that are entirely service-based for individuals, this clinic similarly charges for "no show" appointments. I never had the impression that fees were more important than my well-being. I recommend this clinic for anyone experiencing a mental health challenge and I encourage you to set up an initial consultation. However, whether it will be a good fit for you -- or right for you at this time in your life -- is something you and someone at the clinic will need to determine (you should ask what the rate for an initial consultation would be in advance ). Collection agency said that they would follow up with St. Anthony and let us know if they needed any additional information from us. That was a couple of months ago. Never heard back from the collection agency again. Need for a zero star review stands. Make sure you get paper receipts if you have the misfortune of having to deal with these folks.

She is allergic to cats and was never told that I have cats. Again, lack of communication within this company. Had an emergency out of town, called Care Team to let them know. While I was out of town, the nurse that was supposed to come called and said that she would be coming out at such and such a time. Once again, lack of communication within the company. Explained that I would be back in town on a certain date and that the next scheduled infusion, which was scheduled, would go as planned. I had expressed this several times and I was assured that there would be no problem, that the info would be passed on. Again, lack of communication. As a retired nurse, I understand how a nurse can be spread thin. I understand that miss communication happens. But the lack of communication and lack of staff by this company is inexcusable. I have had home health before, nursing, CNA, PT and OT. and never had the problem like I do with this company. Not sure how many nurses do home IV therapy but this company needs to loosen the purse strings and put their patients first and not their pockets!!

Mom eventually moved in as a resident in June of 2022. Dorothy and her staff immediately made her feel at home, and of course, my trepidation of moving my mom away from home was eased. Dorothy and her staff were always eager to share updates of mom with the family along with pictures and videos. The resident was always spotless and cleaned without any storing disinfectant smells. It was really warm and inviting. It did not matter what day or time I visited. It was always the same. The care given to my mom was exceptional, to say the least. I went out of the country Christmas of 2022, feeling confident and relaxed knowing mom would be safe and cared for. Dorothy and her staff extend their to the end. Dorothy, Victoria, and Angela took time to attend my mom's funeral. That was truly special to my family and I. Thanks, Dorothy & staff.

This home is kept pristine and pricing is very reasonable compared to other options-- especially since guests receive much more individual attention. Later, when mom's memory did fade, the gentle, caring nature of Dorothy and all of her helpers was a great comfort to us. (My brother was horrified at other 'memory care' facilities he'd visited as they smelled, were depressing, and guests were ignored.) The thoughtful attention my mom received at Dorothy's was phenomenal. My mom considered Dorothy as more of another daughter. The love and care that she received was such a blessing and something that no money could buy. It was a gift. Mom was made to feel special. Thoughtful little things were done for her. As I live at a great distance, they would send photos of mom opening my cards and presents and she always had a huge smile. These would touch my heart and mean so much to me. With my mom's passing, we take great comfort in knowing that she was loved and cared for in the very best way possible. Dorothy is an absolute angel with the biggest heart and loving nature. She selects staff who are also caring. We could not be more grateful for the loving care that our mother received at Dorothy's.
