They recommended one truck and two men to help and it was about $110 an hour plus a truck rental fee. I paid in cash so I got a small discount on the hourly rate. Rather reasonable compared to the other quotes I got. They were great at communicating with me leading up to my moving day as well as the day of. My movers, Dmitri and Bohdan, showed up right on time and were very professional, friendly, and efficient. They helped disassemble my furniture (and put it back together) and wrapped up everything as needed. I even had a giant plant that I wasn't sure how to move, but since I was only going a short distance, they wrapped it up and secured it in the truck to take over. At one point I even got a little emotional about saying goodbye to my old place and they were so sweet to me. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and can't thank them enough for the help. Initially, the company appeared to accept responsibility by sending out a restoration crew to clean up the water damage immediately after the incident. However, after weeks of delays and "claim reviews," their attorney and insurance company ultimately denied the claim entirely based on the liability paperwork signed before the move. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that responds one way in the moment, only to later refuse accountability for damage caused during the move. Accidents can happen. What matters is how a company handles them afterward. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling unsupported, misled, and stuck dealing with the consequences in my new home. I strongly advise proceeding with caution. My move took place on March 13th and was poorly executed from start to finish. A job estimated at three hours took well over six hours due to inefficiency and lack of coordination. During the move, my property was mishandled, resulting in a broken mirror and damage to the walls. Communication throughout the process was minimal and disorganized, with no clear updates or accountability. I was also charged an unexpected $500 overtime fee. While this fee was eventually refunded, the circumstances raise serious concerns. I was informed that a full refund would not be considered because, in the company's history, they "do not do that," and that as long as the move was completed, the quality of service was irrelevant. While interactions with Shayne (Branch Manager) were frustrating at times, he did make efforts within his authority and indicated that approval was needed from Ben (Regional Manager) to process a full refund. It was implied this would be approved, and Shayne appeared confident in that direction. However, once escalated, communication became inconsistent. Ben was unavailable, and this was later referenced as a reason for delays. When I spoke with Brian (CMO), the response did not reflect a thorough review. Instead, assumptions were made, the tone was patronizing, and there was no meaningful effort to resolve the concerns. At no point was there accountability, de-escalation, or empathy. This experience raises serious concerns regarding service quality, communication, and leadership accountability. Proceed with extreme caution.

From the onset, it was very easy to call and communicate with Todd and the team. He performed an in-person walkthrough and gave an upfront quote on packing/moving costs, as well as the estimated length of time. I was moving out of a very difficult apartment that had only 1 elevator, no loading bay, and an extremely long hallway circuit. None of this was an issue on the day of the move. A team of 3 movers had no issues packing, loading, and unloading all of my stuff. There was no damage to any hardware/furniture, and the final cost was right in the range of the estimate. Over the past 10-years, I've moved 7 times for work and this was BY-FAR the best moving experience I have ever had. American Moving is a gem, and I will absolutely use them again for any moving/transport/relocation needs.

A couple of times the move involved extra steps to get or move items to/from additional houses or storage units. The workers are hardworking, outgoing, friendly & trustworthy. I was impressed with how efficient they worked. They really hustle & really never stopped for a break to ensure that we were moved in as little time as possible. They will have you moved within about half a day! If you have ever moved & done it yourself , you know very well that it will take you almost the entire day to get everything moved, the truck refilled with gas (another expense) & returned to the rental company on time (and also inconveniencing someone to follow you so you can get back home) They work methodically to stack up furniture, boxes & personal belongings in their truck so that everything is stable and secure and additional trips aren't needed. All of the times they have moved us, they have been able to get everything done in within one trip. They will also ensure that breakable items are separated, and give them to you to put in your car. All of the times we used them, nothing was damaged or broken. When they unload the truck, they will ask you where exactly you want the items placed. Their price was reasonable & straightforward. There were no additional fees or charges added after everything was completed. You won't have to worry & feel bad about having to ask your friends & family to help you move. You also won't have the added expense of buying everyone who helps beer/ drinks, lunch & possibly dinner too!
