I am reposting my review that I took down on Saturday after receiving a phone call and text messages from the business owner intimidating me to take the messages down. I took a dress to be altered that is satin material. I had taken a dress here before that was not satin, and whoever did the alterations did great, which is why I went back. 1. I paid by check up front. I thought the price was fair. 2. My dress came from Lulu's in perfect condition. In fact, the tag is still on it. Had I seen any snags in the satin during the fitting, I obviously would have sent the dress back to Lulu's. My dress was not snagged when I left it in the care of the business. 3. She pinned the bottom. After, I came out and asked if we could adjust the halter so the V didn't plunge as low. The way it was pinned was the way I wanted it. I tried to show in the picture what I got versus what I wanted. When I complained about the neckline not being what I wanted, the seamstress told me she didn't do it that way because the dress wouldn't hit the waist where it should (the bottom of the V). This was never discussed during the fitting. She never called to discuss the change with me. 3. It wasn't ready when I was told it would be ready. That was fine, I came back the next day, but know that your garment might not be finished at the agreed upon time and they might not communicate that with you ahead of time. 4. I was obviously upset. She claimed she could try to fix the snags and would redo the halter. I told her I did not trust her with my dress. This ended up being a good thing because our next stop was Men's Wearhouse. A very kind gentleman there looked at my dress for me. The seamstress at Right Fit tried to claim she couldn't have caused the damage because she never worked on the parts of the dress that were snagged. I learned from the man at Men's Wearhouse that if the satin wasn't protected by something like a plastic covering, the satin would have snagged on parts of the dress even if that part wasn't actively being altered. He even found snags (smaller than pictured) throughout the skirt that I hadn't initially seen. He took it and examined it under a magnifier and said trying to fix it would damage it more and that it is damaged beyond repair. I was referred to another seamstress who got me in right away. 5. After I posted my review - about 2-3 hours later, I got a call from who I am guessing might be the business owner. He yelled at me for my negative review. He tried to claim I didn't pay. I may have misunderstood this as he was yelling at me and was a little hard to understand. When I told him I wouldn't continue to speak to him on the phone, I hung up. My husband called and tried to reason with him. He got nowhere with whoever he was talking to. 6. I then began getting text messages threatening me to take down my review or he would post my information on Google. He said he would sue me for damaging his business. They do have great reviews for altercations for pants, and as I said before the first dress I took to them (I want to say it's Jersey material, but it may be a spandex/poly blend). The bottom of the dress was altered exactly like I wanted, so my initial review gave them a one star credit for that. I would now give them no stars if I could after how they handled this situation. Bottom line: - Take a picture of your garment before you leave it in their care. - I don't recommend taking anything satin there. - Know that if you post a negative review, it is possible you will receive the same treatment I did. read more

My mother took her dress for my wedding to get altered. She needed it hemmed. The lady also said she could take it out an inch on both sides, so two inches total. Prior to this alteration, my moms dress zipped. We go to pick it up and the dress won't even zip. My mom asked if she took the dress out and she said "Yes, I took it out 2 inches on both sides." My mom was in tears because there was no way that within two days she gained over 4 inches and her dress wouldn't zip. She had to pay $115. I know how to do alterations, so when we get home I take a look. The lady took IN two inches on both sides. Her stitches were horrendous, too. I had to rip out countless knotted stitches. I cannot believe she had the audacity to lie and tell us it was taken out. The dress was not even hemmed correctly. Instead of taking the fabric in to hem it, She made 4 looped stitches to pull the hem up. With one move, the entire hem could fall apart. With less than 12 hours to my wedding, a kind woman reached out that she could fix my moms dress. She is a seamstress and said that the dress was almost ruined. She stayed up until 1230AM fixing the mess this woman created. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. $115 that my mom will never get back for work that was equivalent to a toddler. read more

They do great, quick work. Have taken several pairs of pants there and all done within a day for $10. Hems have lasted several washings without loosening at all, a problem Ive had at some alteration businesses. My go to spot and highly recommend. Awful!! Ruined a $100 pair of pants I'd never worn by taking off several inches too many, no way to fix them! This used to be such an amazing shop before the original owners moved away and now it's just shoddy workmanship. She pinned them exactly at the right length while I was wearing shoes so I don't know how this could've gone wrong. read more

Horrible customer service. Wanted more to alter a dress ($80) than the dress cost. Lady was very rude, will never go back.

Normally I have never had a problem with using this place until I sent my daughter there to get a dress tucked on the sides and dropped it off a week ago. Said it would be ready on the 14th by 2 pm. She went in at 6 pm and it wasn't finished. She needed it for family pictures on Sunday afternoon. The lady said it would be done on Sunday morning anytime after 11. So we went in at 1 and guess what, still not done said it would be ready in 30 minutes. And still had the audacity to have her pay full price for their mistake. We will not be going back and I will not recommend this place anymore! read more

Holly and Jerry moved out of state in Spring 2018, and sold the business to Holly's relative, Amy. So far I've had no real complaints on the 4 items I've had her alter... but I I miss Holly's "eye". She was able to tell me what would look best. Amy will do what I ask for... but I haven't felt confident yet that she has Holly's eye for how things should fit and look. Also, I came to pick up a dress and it wasn't ready. I'd hoped to take it with me for a weekend trip. She offered to do it in 20 mins... but I wasn't confident enough yet in her to want a rush job. Took jacket to have sleeves shorten but went I got it back work was not done but Amy charged me 35 dollars. If you need something repaired pick some one who is honest. if you live in Peoria find anybody else. read more

Do great job, but the people who actually do the alterations are often gone and they leave their kids to take care of customers. Took lunch hour on two occasions to go there and both times the children said can you come back another time because we "don't know how to do that". Very time consuming and frustrating. read more

I took a pair of pants to a seersucker suit in for alterations. They needed hemmed and cuffed. Also, the waist needed to be let out 2"! The work they did was beautifully done within a few days. I highly suggest taking your tailoring needs to Right Fit Alterations! read more

Did some research on tailors near me that could do a quick and decent job sewing a name tape onto my military uniform. Right Fit did not disappoint! Dropped it off and had it back in hand a few hours later. Cost was very reasonable. Friendly customer service. Highly recommend! read more
