This wasn't the first time he stood us up without a warning either. As far as the retaining wall, my 80 year old grandma would've built an equal quality wall as they did. I asked them to build about a quarter of the wall but after I saw them working on it decided to finish it myself. I paid about 20% of what they charged me to build the rest. Bottom line, SUPER expensive, poor quality work, poor quality customer service. Look elsewhere.

Matt was initially very professional... until he was paid. When we asked him to come out to address the issues we were having, he did. Once. And they installed a backsplash all the way around the area that was being run over by rainfall. After that, I was told that the backsplashes would ALWAYS be getting clogged and I would have to clean them myself. Ah... to go back in time and not spend that kind of money. Some lessons are more expensive than others. Take my advice, DO NOT purchase these. Spend that money on a whole home generator or something that actually works. And spend it on a proven business that stands by their product.

In the end I wanted a top notch product that would work (so I would not have to). As an engineer I was drawn to the Valor style guards. The "S" shape and the slight bow make great sense to make sure water has time to enter the gutter thru the screen and prevent leaves etc from sticking to the screen. I found this design superior to the major competitors. We contacted Matt from Gutter Filters of Houston and he came to the house and measured my gutters and noted all corners etc. it took about 30 minutes to get measurements and do a quick layout of the roofline. We then spent another 20-30 minutes reviewing the options and pricing etc. We agreed to an installation date and his team was here on time and got the job done quickly and then cleaned up after themselves. They made sure all my gutter seams were sealed and all debris in the gutters cleaned out. The guards are not visible from ground level which is nice. We have not had a hard rain yet, but I did take out the garden hose and sprayed the roof on full power to simulate a hard rain. The "S" curves worked exactly as designed to slow the water and make sure it all got into the gutter with no overflow. So far so good. We would recommend the Valor style guards and Gutter Filters of Houston to do the work.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PROJECT…read more We previously hired Outer Image in the summer of 2011 for a backyard pergola, patio, and a fire pit, as well as a redesign of our front entry. That project was on budget and on schedule and because of this, the project was very successful. My wife and I both have keen attention to detail and everything was completed with utter satisfaction. We continually were complimented on the overall design of our property and this was due to Steve and his creativity. Fast forward to the summer of 2020, we decided that we wanted to change the pergola out for a covered patio as we wanted an area to sit that was protected from the weather. We had multiple contractors price out the project and ultimately decided to hire Outer Image again. Steve's pricing was competitive; in addition, his design and attention to detail are what made us ultimately chose them again. Since our original pergola was still structurally sound from 2011. Outer image recommended keeping the main structure and just removing the top pergola portion to build the vaulted roof structure. This was a huge cost saving to the budget. Outer Image took care of all of the drawings, designs, and permitting with The Woodlands. As soon as we received approval, they worked with us and the pool contractor to coordinate the schedule, site access, and overall coordination so we could complete both projects on time. There were some roadblocks with typical Houston weather and the Outer Image crew was very accommodating and continued to keep the overall project in line. In addition, any questions that arose during the project were addressed and reviewed directly by Steve in a timely and professional manner with a thorough explanation. During this process, we added some additional scope by changing the original 2011 wood deck to an Azek material, replacing some gas pipes in an outdoor fireplace, as well as adding some lighting and electrical to the new structure. All changes were easy to make and the team at Outer Image was happy to accommodate them.
