However, that day my yard wasn't cut, nor did I receive any notification from V.A. Landscaping. I called multiple times on Friday morning but the provided number went to voicemail. I also tried texting, to no answer. When my texts were finally responded to, I was told they would also NOT be cutting my grass on Friday. When I asked why, I received another message stating that the yes, my yard would be cut that day and that the previous text was an error. ‍ When they did arrive, they cut my grass with a weed-eater instead of a mower so it was very uneven and much of the cut grass remained sitting in my yard. When I contacted VA Landscaping with my concerns, I was told my yard HAD to be cut with a weedeater because my grass was so high. This was absolutely not true (see picture below). I then asked for a discount or refund. Thats when my texts stopped being answered.

But once you have hired them for more than one job, you'll see their real deal. They are SHADY and lazy. They would STEAL one of my steel T-posts after I told them no when they asked for one multiple times while they were working on my yard (I had several lying around). Only reason why I found out was because I needed to borrow one of their tools after they were about finished and they pointed me to one of their trailers, and the dad thought I'd caught him so he handed me my T-post from his trailer. Let me explain the LAZY part. I'd told them specifically to grind the crepe myrtle roots and stumps really well after they cut them down, because I knew too well how invasive these can be. They said sure sure. Days later and now 4 months later, I'm still dealing with all the huge roots left from the crepe myrtles and bushes they left me with because they were too lazy to grind them well. I also think it's partly because they didn't want to dull their machine etc. Reason why I say that is because I'd asked them 3-4 times while they were working to GIVE ME THE MULCH from the stump grinding etc. They said OK OK. At the end, they gave me nothing. I asked them, where's my mulch...They were like, how much you want? Then reluctantly scooped up a wheelbarrow or two at like 7pm...then said they'd give me pure mulch from their jobs later on (didn't want to stay later). I said, why didn't you grind them and give me the mulch while you were working? Kevin said they didn't want to use their machine too much. So, there you go. They did two jobs for me, over $2000 each time. I spent pretty pennies on them and that's what I got. I debated for a long time whether I should write this because I wanted to let bygones be bygones and not ruin someone's business but I'm too upset. And the world needs to know the truth. You, their potential customers, should know. GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

We needed a very tall Ash tree removed, a number of broken, dead and overgrown branches removed and we further needed to raise the canopy so our house was visible from the street and the our backyard didn't feel so closed in over the pool. When I called, he came out promptly to give us a quote. We surveyed our property together, discussed what we wanted done, and he made some suggestions about how he would trim the trees for safety and best growth. In comparison to other quotes we felt he gave us a very fair price. On the scheduled work day, Zack and his helper, Jaime, arrived 10 minutes early and began taking down the Ash tree in our front yard, close to the house, that had died. He and his helper have a technique to remove the large heavy branches to prevent damaging the house and the lawn so no huge dents in the lawn and no damage to our house or other landscaping. After that, they moved methodically from tree to tree removing everything we had agreed upon. I watched as he considered which healthy but overgrown branches to cut so the trees would not only look good, but grow nicely. Jaime carried away ALL the debris and fed it into the wood chipper. My yard was pretty much spotless when they were through. Zack told me first thing that the person with the stump grinder would come the next day. I believe he ended coming that evening and made short work of the stump, filling the hole with the stump debris. I then hired Zack to do the same at my Mom's house. This time he was trimming two unruly Magnolia trees, two out of control Vitex and two other trees. Again, he carefully selected the branches on the Magnolias and they look so much better. The Vitex trees were cut back quite a bit but they were totally overgrown, almost tree size, so while they look quite bare now, I know by the end of the summer, they will start looking as they should. Overall, Zack was very professional, friendly, did what he said he would do, took great care with our property and our trees and did an honest day's work for very fair price.
