OK, I know it's crazy to list this as a tourist attraction, but it actually IS a tourist attraction. Here's why. 1. This building is expected to burn 400,000 tons of Copenhagen's solid waste and the building cost $690 million dollars to build. From this waste, it creates electricity and actually produces more clean water than it uses. The goal is to reduce emissions to almost zero and be the cleanest incineration plant in the world. 2. It is also a major sports facility with a major climbing wall (you can get to the top by hiking, climbing, or by elevator. The climbing wall is 85 meters high (280 feet). 3. There is a rooftop cafe on the top, as well as a bar at the bottom. 4. Hiking and Running: There is a 490 meter long winding path to the top.(a third of a mile). This includes both steps and a running path. 5. Skiing and snowboarding: The artificial surface allows this to operate all year long. The special surface is made of Neveplast, which mimics the feel of snow. You can rent ski and snowboarding equipment, there are lessons available, and different slopes for varying abilities. 6. Viewing the city: The view from the top alone, makes a visit here a tourist attraction. So, as you can see, CopenHill is much more than "just" a garbage and recycling plant.

A nice stadium that holds 28k, it was very clean, the pitch was in good form, and we were able to access the clubs cafeteria, clubhouse and practice grounds, which was really awesome. It was really cool to see what the club members do, as well as eat in their cafeteria. They had trophy cases full of their hardware they have won over the years. It was fun to see their collection of pennants on the walls against various teams, including big ones like Manchester United and Barcelona. The food at the cafeteria was decent, and very reasonable. I'm used to food at stadiums being extortionally overpriced. The cafeteria had big glass windows with great views overlooking the practice pitch. Really impressive. Access inside the stadium itself was easy and quick. Home and away fans were segregated by seating sections and entrances, which comes in handy when not hosting friendly matches. The stadium was mostly full, and a perfect size for an intimate and lively atmosphere. Both he and visiting crowds brought out their voices and sang their songs and chants. I enjoyed my few hours at this stadium. Getting there we took a taxi that dropped us off right st the entrance, and getting back to town, we took a public bus, whose bus stop was close to the stadium grounds.

The grass is artificial but always green and really nice to play on and the skater hockey rink is the best in the whole of Copenhagen. Keep in mind that the place is always crawling with sports people so consider joining the sports clubs there.

This 16th century town square sports impressive brick architecture, colorful houses dating from the 1600-1800's, and a peaceful courtyard. Known for its restaurants and nightlife, it is abundant with outdoor terraces. We hear it is very popular in the summertime and even though we were here on a weekday in the winter, the restaurants and bars were packed. Even with it raining there were couples strolling down the cobbled streets via lamplight or packing into the delicious smelling restaurants. It was definitely fun to see in the winter but we would love to return to enjoy it in the summertime.

The day itself was my favorite kind of day, a gentle rainy one that most would consider unpleasant or dreary. Not me. I purposely don't take summer vacations or vacations to hot places. My goal for the first part of my day was to visit the Malmö Museum (Museer in Swedish) and Castle (Malmöhus Slott), but I also made time to really explore the Kungsparken, or King's Park, as well. This was really an unavoidable thing anyway as I had planned to continue to follow the canal into town to meet my friend after work for dinner, shopping, and goofing off. I'm big on the free outdoors when I travel, you can tell. I enjoyed the little clusters of flowers most, but also the canopy of different tree species and the series of trails, bridges and passageways along the canal, which borders one end of the King's Park. Weeping Willows create shade and privacy. I found the park very romantic! The many benches along the trail would have been perfect for a rest, but alas in the rain that was not an option. It's an 8 plus acre park, and a complete circle would be great exercise. The route I took through altogether was 2 miles of walking. If you're headed to the castle fortress and museum anyway, you can't miss it. Note: The Yelp listing also says "Zoo," but if there is one in here I didn't find it...
