One of the worst experiences I have ever encountered. If I could give this zero stars, I would. As the young lady employee was helping me to the best of her ability, the owner/manager decided to chime in and start viciously yelling at her employee while also telling me I was wrong on the way I was using my card To play games. She fought with me over $.50 at that point I didn't care about the game was more about the principle of her being so mean nasty and blaming me for using the card wrong. One of her games accepted my payment twice, but only gave me one play and that's what the whole debate was about. I would never go there as an adult and I would never ever bring my children there to be in such a negative environment of an arcade establishment. She doesn't deserve a family friendly business. read more

Was there yesterday September 20, 2023. At first the woman behind the counter was very helpful. So I started playing and realized it was almost a dollar a game!! So I went up to her and asked her how much a game it was? She said .95 cents a game. I told her I thought that was expensive since the day before in Sea Isle it was only ,50 cents a game. Her response was this to me: Di you know where you are? Real Estate is more expensive here in Stone Harbor". I was shocked and dismayed at her rudeness to me. All I did was ask a question. Have to agree with rest of the comments. Very rude owner works here (middle aged woman if you see her), yelled at my wife and I for playing a free game found on one of the machines. I used to work here, and it was miserable. First off, I never signed or filled out any paperwork, my aunt, an accountant, hounded them for weeks to get a W-2 for me and when I did get one it was over a decade too old. the treatment was brutal, I was used as a verbal punching bag regularly, I worked long hours, I was rarely afforded lunch breaks, the four-ish months I worked there I was paid twice, my schedule was constantly in flux (all employee schedules were marked on a white board in a closet) I'd often work several hours extra cleaning the place at night, regularly, as an inexperienced minimum wage employee, I'd be made to operate the entire arcade alone for the whole day and then would be screamed at for not doing everything perfectly. The mother of the mother daughter operation was cool. She was calm, and serious, and didn't yell or get mad. One time I messed up a drink I was making for a customer and she pointed it out to me. I apologized and she, sternly but very calmly replied "Don't be sorry, just do better next time." her daughter, the woman who hired me and oversaw most of the arcade, would go ballistic over a smudge on a window. Absolutely by far the WORST place I have ever worked! Being my first job I thought I had it made. An arcade so it seemed like I was gonna be around fun and make money! I was all for it! Until I started... I remember at the time I was 17 this was back in 2019. I was taught how to run the place by myself and got to a point where I did it very well, first couple days was not bad, but I was always weird to me how she wanted to go home all the time to do something. Making excuse after excuse to leave, and not even a week in and I'm running it all by myself bc she has to keep going home, and even when she was there she just stayed in her office! I was on shift with a coworker one day and she says, "hey I'm gonna run home rq I'll be back" it was for some package or something I forget the excuse this time. Anyway point is that me and coworker were absolutely swamped and busy when she left, we thought we handled it well since we cleared out the place, so we deservingly patted ourselves on the back. At the time we didn't know she couldn't just leave us alone. Well when she comes back she instantly yells at us bc we don't seem "busy" she then threatened our jobs and she said "if I catch you guys doing nothing again you're fired". Like WHAT we literally just did your job for you!!!! While you WENT HOME!!! So she wasn't even THERE! So I quit that day bc fuck that level of disrespect. She is so so ignorant, and on top of that I had to fight tooth and nail for a paycheck of barley $120!!! That she owed me!!!! I fought for almost half a year To get that money!!! By that time I got it I had another job already!!! She sent email after email, and called and called, and also had me come in!!! Absolute bat shit crazy!! Do not EVER give your time to her as a customer or employee, she is rude, inconsiderate and deserves the book thrown at her and her place shut down! read more

A nice place for the kids to enjoy some time especially on a rainy day. Rigi's is a small arcade with approximately 20 different styles of games. Most of the games are assimilated to the ticket prize system. The staff is just there to punch the clock and not the friendliest. Rigi must be a Red Sox fan as a good amount of prizes and decor would say so. Go in here with a budget in mind, ecause the mostly outdated games will suck the coins out of you. read more

I didn't spend much time inside of Rigi's, but I did spend hundreds of hours outside of Rigi's on the insanely small patch of grass that surrounded the water tower on 96th Street. That little patch of grass was THE place to meet after all of my friends and I would finish our summer jobs for the evening. (This will totally date me, but this was before the time of high schoolers owning cell phones. Yes, this time existed. I am clearly ancient.) Rigi's is exactly what it looks like from the outside - an old school video arcade. Small but good selection of games. We came here for Rigi's Gourmet Italian Water Ice. Chocolate was my favorite, surprisingly, and watermelon wasn't half bad. My husband said that the cherry was good - very fruity. The sign says that it is made fresh daily with real fruit. The service and establishment was phenomenal. All of the games were working, and the worker was constantly cleaning machines, the floor and wiping everything down. The owner was very kind and professional. She truly loves her business. read more

I worked there a summer or two ago and i was only 13-14 at the time and i applied in June and i got a phone call around august saying that i got the job but once i started, i hated it. i never got paid the correct amount and i was left there unattended with no manager or no owner for hours at end which is illegal since i am a minor and they tried to tell me that i said i would work until November when i told them before i started that i had school starting in september but told my mother i signed a contract saying i would work until nov. but i never signed anything! would not recommend ever working there! the owner called the cops on me, a 14 year old girl because i told her i quit and the cops had to go to my mothers places of employment which was completely ridiculous. Don't waste your money. We dropped $80 on the kids there and the plump lady behind the counter was completely put out when my kids were looking for the toys and candy. There was no one in the place. At one point she said to the kids "you aren't going to pick a bunch of small things are you?". She made a lot of grunting and comments with each selection by the kids. She limited the Jolly Ranchers to 5 per kid. Go to Avalon where the kids get actual prices for their tickets and the people aren't rude. Rigi's is a Stone Harbor classic - with the best of water ice in the entire town, hands-down. I've been playing there since I was a kid, and now my kids playing some of the very same games. While that may sound like a point against an arcade, I think it adds to the charm, and many young kids seem to love being able to play the older video games. As someone who's been here decades, it would be a sad day if Rigi's ceased to be on 96th street. read more

The games r ok, but the prizes suck. The customer service is terrible, and the old hag that works there is nasty and rude. She will give ones in your change that could be bigger bills and give u lip when u don't tip her with them, and the water ice and drinks r overpriced anyways. read more

Our experience at rigis was terrible!!! We wish we could give it 0 stars. Many of the games there were out of order. The room was the size of a closet, there was no space to move around. It was packed with broken games and crying babies. The employees were super rude. When trying to count tickets the woman behind the counter yelled at everyone standing at the counter to back up because one person was getting a prize. How can we back up if there is no space?! Finally when we got to the counter the woman kept screaming "whose next" in my face as I was standing at the counter. When she managed to count our tickets she ripped up two of them that I could have given to another person in my group. When i was contemplating what to get, she asked me "why do you look surprised?" For no reason. I had 30 tickets and only could get 3 tiny tootsie rolls. I had spent $5 and all we got was 50 cents worth of candy. I wish I could have gotten jolly ranchers but they were 15 tickets. I didn't see much more of the rude lady because shortly after she had to run over to fix a broken ski ball machine. read more
