I would give this dealership zero stars if I could. I drove in from Iowa City to trade in my prius for an all-wheel drive vehicle. I had looked up the value of my prius online and it said $12,000. They tried to give me only $5,000 for it. I was told that was the value according to their "better" sources. I was going to walk away and of course they were like "how can we get you in a car today?" So they brought it up to 6,500 knowing I still owed $7,200. I should have left, but I didn't and sold it to them... Well, I thought since it wasn't a very expensive car, my brother should buy it. So I told him to contact them the next day thinking it would be marked up to like $9,000 at the most. It wasn't worth anything, right? It's listed at $14,900!!!! I know they are trying to make money, but I was vulnerable and they absolutely took advantage of me. read more

So I am in Florida and reached out about a vehicle I seen these guys had. I give them all my info including complete address info and ask about the out the door price cause I am searching nationwide to see whats available cause I have no problem traveling due to the nature of the car industry and the vampires and low life scum that exist unfortunately at many dealers. my wife was in the business ovet a decade and have friends in the industry as well and my own experiences reflect the exact same sentiments. Anyway, Jackson Miller responds and asks for my license. I tell him I prefer not to send that and that they are the only dealer I have spoken to who has asked for that. He tells me that's their policy. Okay, I get it. But I am not in person. So the same way they want to be protected from possible fraud. I have to do the same for myself. I don't know who I'm speaking with via text states away. I've already supplied my full address information county and so forth you should be able to get me a price quote. we are solidifying a deal over the phone and you can easily confirm the validity of my auto loan by contacting my lender since that was part of the discussion. I even mentioned well you guys must be victims of fraud quite often lately. He tells me no that's not true. Funny Jackson when I called and spoke to John the finance manager, who is also one of the sales managers, he told me you guys have had issues of fraud you've had to deal with and that's why the do that. He also understood why I was hesitant to do that over the phone since I'm not in person and that this is something that they might need to think about for people getting quotes over the phone. Now, as I explained from the beginning, if we come to an agreement on the numbers, I would be coming there regardless in person to take care of everything so you would be getting my license at a point. And again you would have verification of identity from my lender and if I agreed to the deal I would also have no problem giving you my license via email or text then. Unfortunately, common sense is not too common anymore though. Jackson proceeds to give me a price, but it's not the complete out the door numbers. I say I already have this. That's why inquired that's common sense and he gets bent out of shape. He proceeded to tell me this is a different number than the number listed online. OK, that's cool but you should've communicated that from the beginning buddy. I'm not a mind reader stop assuming. He tells me I'm being difficult and we shouldn't do business because of some of the things I said to him, mainly the common sense thing. He tells me if you say that through text, I can't imagine what you would say to me sitting in front of me. Really bruh.. How soft are you. People like this have no place being in sales or in customer service. Now granted, we all have bad days, but give me a break. I told him Real sales people provide solutions, not problems and do not create difficulties, even though he tried to tell me from the beginning all they're so easy to deal with it wasn't so easy to deal with with simple things like getting a quote. You're better off telling people You don't wanna deal with without State buyers. I also did tell him to man up and grow a pair because at that point I was going to be difficult because of the bs and the lackluster call with John after who half agreed with me which is fine and the response of backing his sales people up which I respect. But give me a break. I then got a text today from the General Sales manager Ryan Vaassen. he tells me we've decided to move on from the deal. I've been moved on from the deal. You guys really think I'm gonna sit there and deal with that type of nonsense. You need to get off high your horse. He actually just responded again right now, and only decided to pick a part of a few things I had said to Jackson. Funny thing is you don't see me hiding anything that I said what you see is what you get I'm blunt. I'm direct. These guys don't deserve your money go elsewhere. read more

I was in the market for a new 2023 Subaru Impreza. I exchanged a few emails with Tyler Reinhardt concerning the Impreza I was interested in. As I would have to drive more than 200 miles to take delivery of the car, I asked Mr. Reinhardt to send me a purchase order for the Subaru. I did not want any surprises. I have not heard from him since. Several days after my last communication with Tyler Reinhardt, I received an email from Rick Petitgout at Riley Subaru. Here is my favorite portion of that email: ". . . our team works with you to ensure every aspect of car ownership transfer is conducted in a timely manner." I told Mr. Petitgout about not receiving a purchase order for the Impreza. I have not heard from him since. There is a happy ending to this experience. I found a Subaru dealership that was more than happy to accept my hard-earned $25,000 for a new Impreza. read more

(2021 Outback) Backstory to preface this review: my wife and I were traveling from Louisiana to Illinois and the car notified us that an oil change was due. Did not want to drive an extra 1,000 miles on the old oil. Would be five stars easily but I had called on a Tuesday just before noon and left a message, did not receive a return call by 3:00 pm, so I left another voicemail. I was about to give up on them but they called back the next day (WED - 2:11 pm - almost 24 hrs after my 2nd call!). Missed this call (that's on me) but when I returned the call at 5 pm, the service rep that I spoke with was very considerate and was also able to schedule the work the next day (Thursday). We arrived at Riley Subaru and were greeted by Austin. He quickly got the vehicle checked in and recommended the 36,000 mile maintenance which I declined, however he did do all of the checks for the mileage and discovered that the alignment was slightly off. That was covered by the warranty, and the whole ordeal was completed in just over one hour (oil and filter change, alignment and tire rotation). Overall, Riley is what I have come to expect as a Subaru owner. I would recommend this service department to anyone. My only complaint is that they should respond to messages in a timely manner when they cannot answer the phone. read more

I have never owned, considered, or even driven a Subaru vehicle until today. I had a model picked out online I thought I may like but when I arrived it didn't suit my height. The salesman suggested I try another model, which was much more amenable. He then proceeded to show me several examples from his lot until I found one I was willing to test drive. I liked it and we proceeded to sit down and 'talk turkey", the part of vehicle buying that I hate most. Long story short, I went from never having driven a Subaru to having a beautiful one in my driveway in 2 short hours. I applaud my salesman, Nick Pfohl, and his sales and finance managers for getting me in and out quickly and giving me what I consider to be one of the best dealership car buying experiences I've had. I rarely have praise for new car dealerships, but this is the first time I've felt like I've been treated fairly, both on the new vehicle price and my trade in value, as well as financing. I never felt like I was under pressure and I wasn't kept waiting more than a few minutes at a time. l have no experience with their service department yet, but if you want a fair shake on a nice new Subaru, these guys are great! read more

I'm from out of town and had a low oil light come on in my 2016 Subaru Forester today. I wasn't quite sure what to do, aside trying to find an auto parts place, trying to match my oil type and top my oil off. I was limited on time, having business to take care of the next day. Arriving late in the evening, l did a quick internet search and found Riley Subaru as closest to my location. I called and got Jeff Haun. He said that his mechanics were all gone, but invited me to come by and said he would take care of me. Jeff had his dress clothes on, and yet he got in my car, pulled it into the shop, topped off my oil and bid me best wishes (no charge). I was surprised, blessed and thankful for Jeff's kindness. Called three times for service. Closed on a Tuesday. Called next day and manager was at lunch. No one could help me. 2012 blown head gasket!!! No help. Asked if I could get it towed there. No help. Stranded at Christmas. No help. I am so disappointed with this establishment and the Subaru brand at this point. I love my Subaru and this has me totally rethinking my brand loyalty. I love the 5 star reviews for this dealership, what a joke lol! I don't know if it was because we didn't buy our Outback from them or if it was too old, being a 2009; but these guys are the worst! Left out the top motor mount bolt after doing the head gasket, the wife drove it around like that for a month or so. We paid for a 4 wheel alignment, they "completed" it and we then proceeded to shred one of the new rear tires. Took it to a local shop and they said the car's rear adjustments were never done as the equipment was inoperable, rusted tight. So instead of telling us we needed new parts to do the alignment, Riley just told us that it was done. I emailed the owner about all this, he couldn't be bothered to respond. read more

I just bought a Honda Element here, a limited availability car. John Corfman was an exceptional saleman. Even with a 30 year age difference, I felt we shared hobbies and he totally understood what I was looking for in a car. We bought had Honda CVR , a year apart. Additional warranties a bit of a hard sale, but just go in knowledgeable; the guy is nice as well. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO RILEY!! I took my car in for maintenance and they did the work and also threw in a car wash, which was nice.....HOWEVER, my car had gouges from some sort of rotating action against it (likely the car wash itself), and when we spoke to the manager he denied that any of his staff would do something like that and not let him know. He insinuated that it was already there (IT WAS NOT), and doing his utmost to make us feel like liars and cheats, offered to have his guys buff it out, but would not agree to any repainting. The scratches are still there, but are not as visible. I will not recommend them to anyone I know, and will never take my business there again. I don't care if I need specialized Mistubishi care; I'll go to a neighboring city to give my business to someone more deserving. read more
