This is a very nice RV camp ground that is open May through October it has a general store it has nice clean bathrooms and a gas station it also has propane exchange and there's a restaurant/bar nearby and the people that run the place are very nice also and the guy that runs a register is not bad himself read more

We stopped her on our way down to one of the local lakes. It was a really nice convenience store. They also have a restaurant and an RV park. They have all the standard convenience food with drinks, snacks and some hot foods. They had some cool items also that I wouldn't have expected, too. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked nice. So did the RV park. It's easy on and off the highway making it very convenient. It could be nice I would definitely stop at Rim Resorts again. It's a great spot to get a cold drink on your way to some of the local drinks. read more

Great food, great service. Nice outdoor seating area. The only thing that would have made it better would have been for there not to have been a table full of screaming kids. The service is great and the servers are very friendly! I ordered the chicken quesadilla, chicken wings, and a cup of coffee to go. The chicken quesadilla is huge, is like 14 inches pizza, filled with a lot of cheese and big chunk of chicken, serve with salsa. It tastes very good and filling, we only finished half and have left over for next day. The chicken wings, I ordered the hot (buffalo sauce) wings and garlic parmesan wings. The wings size and the taste are pretty standard, not bad at all. The cup of coffee taste quite good, it really helps me to kickoff the morning. I wish I could try their smoking gun BBQ, they only had it on Saturday. Will definitely come back for it on the next visit... read more

Had 2 lunches, 1 dinner, and 1 breakfast at the Rim Resort Cafe on 8/25 and 8/26/2017 Good food, friendly staff, great outdoor patio space. If you're there on a Saturday like I was, get the BBQ served between 2pm and 7pm! Stayed at the Forest Lakes Lodge just West of this cafe which is at MP290. The lodge does not have a restaurant but there is one right next door. It got such scathing reviews that I never gave it a chance. The Rim Resort Cafe came to my rescue and I had a good meal and a great time there. Thank you wait staff and cook! read more

We stopped here on our way back from a hunting trip. I got the veggie omelet with green chili's and it was delicious. My boyfriend got biscuits and gravy, half stack of pancakes and overeasy eggs, bacon and toast. He says this is one of the best breakfasts he's had in a while. We stopped here to grab a bag of ice and an ice cream cone for our little one. It was about 10 minutes to closing time; as we walked in, we greeted the clerks, or maybe it was the owners. This is when the problem accrued. I felt like I was an unwanted vagrant and that I was doing something wrong. They seemed to not want our business or our money. The funny part is that my family has owned a vacation home in Forest Lakes longer than the owners of this roadside shop. To be exact, we have been members of this community for over 47 years and have always supported the local business. to be treated the way we experience is beyond what Forest Lakes community members expect. Thanks to FOREST LAKES GENERAL STORE, we collected our bag of ice and a carton of ice cream and will continue to support the new owners and their quest to be a successful business in our great community. As far as Rim Resort General Store & Gas, they will never see our family or friend's business again. I understand when closing time is close and you want to go home to family, you may be in a hurry to close shop but be respectful and communicate to your customers so that they understand. Being rude to the point of insulting customers is not the way to run a small business. The forest Lakes General Store is our recommendation. read more

Stopped in for breakfast, in the past it was 4 out of 5 stars, must be under new owners the worst. I ordered country breakfast toast ( they were out of sour dough) Hash browns,sausage eggs over easy,coffee. What I got was eggs over hard, frozen pre formed hash brown patty,undercooked sausage and Luke warm coffee. My wife had the breakfast burrito, the gravy was burnt, and had a ton of pepper added, the inside was Luke warm to cold. All this for $24.00, I would not recommend this for breakfast, don't know about lunch, but not going to find out. read more

First of all, let me say that I NEVER, EVER, send food back. I would NEVER trust a stranger at a 2nd attempt at 'correcting my food'. Restaurant management doesn't pay these people enough-- and so that you'll recognize the signs that the management is lying, the management will speak the words, 'they earn tips'. The flaw in their logic is that the food & servers should be expected to be good, thus never needing a tipping system. I also KNOW that a tipping-systemed waitstaff will take it out on the customers. And so, on to our story... We tried to order breakfast on day one, and was told that since it was 10:35am, they were done serving breakfast. Okay, no problem, so we ordered burgers/sandwiches. They were OK, although each one was pretty standard fare. No surprises. The next day, we woke up early, and they opened the store as we arrived at 7:15am. We were anxious to get the breakfast that we had been denied the previous day. Each portion we received was big enough for two people (definitely a plus). The only issue that my family found was that everything except the biscuits and gravy was SUPER peppered and salted. It was so much so, that it seemed drenched in seawater, and none of my family members could get thru 1/4th of their plate. My eggs were OK, although I couldn't finish my potatoes/corned beef hash because of the over-seasoning problem. We'd ordered a group plate of biscuits and gravy, and that's what everyone ended up eating. The biscuits & gravy were MOST EXCELLENT. We boxed up the unused, over-peppered food, and I had been hoping that it would've been better later-- but no dice. It was just too much seasoning for anyone to eat. We ended up throwing the leftovers away the next day. Now for the big 3: Service: This part was mediocre. It was plastered-on smiles from waitstaff that was not in the mood to be there. I'm not sure if it was the early morning hours, or what, although it happened with both waitresses that we encountered over the two days. Refills were forced, because they never seemed to come around frequently. They seemed shocked when I finally walked back to their area to ask for refills. Taste: The burgers were normal, and nothing to write home about. The biscuits & gravy were the best we've tasted in years. Every other breakfast dish had so much salt & pepper that we could never finish them. I don't know how to undo too much salt or pepper, and I'd expect retaliation if we'd brought it up. Price: This was 30% higher than what you'd expect. I realize there are other factors, like, 'they're way out in the woods', and 'this is a Ma & Pop shop', but I felt raked over for not only the bill, but also the over-and-above, EXPECTED wait-staff tip. No need to try this place, unless you like biscuits & gravy. I realize that there are 100 other scenarios on how it could've been worse, and that's why this place garners my two stars instead of one. My husband and I stopped by the store to put air in a low tire. We were just passing through and got some gas. We had to come back because our tire went flat. We were not prepared at all. Ted and Ryan were so very helpful. Helped us put a spare on so we could get to a tire shop. They were so kind. Most people would not have taken the time to help. So appreciative. Cute little store, cafe and resort. We will come back and experience those things again. We learned a valuable lesson to be more prepared on road trips. read more

Met the owners 3 years ago when they 1st bought this nice store, cafe, and RV resort. They both are very nice and personable. Then I started to eat at the cafe and let me tell y'all, there is no better place to eat than this place. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The Friday Fish Fry is soooooo goood!!!!!!. The Saturday Bar-B-Que is just as good, if not better. You won't go wrong whether you're stopping to have a bite, need gas or propane, or something at the grocery store! read more

I have come to this place from time to time. Recently they have acquired new management and let me say these new people by far are the worst. I waited a total of 15-20 minutes just to get my drink. It was so bad that I received my food before I got my drink! Waitresses were running around like they were chickens with their heads chopped off. Not a big enough place for this to be an issue. Under-staffed and not well kept. More than likely will not be returning. Now on the other hand the Store has friendly employees and well kept shelves. read more
