This very basic hike will work for anyone, and it is a cute little hike to start your trip. The…read moretrail is only .85 miles, and it only has an overall elevation increase of 290 feet. The trail has some pretty wild flowers, and if you really want, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies does guided nature walks between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. During this time, the trail is closed to bikers, which is a nice perk if you are walking. The biggest issue we had was finding the trail! I finally found a website where someone said the trail head started at the end of lot 7, and while a bit hidden, it is there! If you take the bus up to Snowmass Mall, the trail is very close. Parking is a struggle so I would take the free bus. The other hard thing is that this trail gets very muddy if there has been any precipitation so plan accordingly. My friend and I were not overly excited about this trail, and I would recommend using the Nature Trail to get to the Rim Trail South, as these paths are connected by the South Rim Connector. It's a bit harder, but the views are much better.

We really couldn't have gone on riding without it getting fixed, and the owner was, thankfully, able to jump right on it, throw in a spacer on the steering tube and send us on our way. He was slammed between rentals and all kinds of other stuff and could have easily turned us away, but he didn't. Thank you very much for your help, we will be back next time we are in town!

He not only took time from answering the phone, answering questions and giving directions to another family, but patiently helped me navigate a computter to register myself and family. They had multiple sizes to choose from and the process of renting and returning was easy. They canisters are old and used and can be tricky to open because of this. However a great deal especially if you forget to bring one to your campsite which you need to have one in aspen.

A few days after the purchase I noticed they didn't charge me for the vest. In good conscience I called and paid over the phone. Turned out we were way too busy mountain biking, hiking, and enjoying our travels. To add to the delay, my father died and we hade to get back to Colorado to manage his estate. I finally got to try out all this fishing gear in August. To my disappointment the waders leaked massively. Ugh! Wished I'd have water tested them back in April! Obviously the seller knew they were JUNK and was NOT forthright with Ragged. I tried to return them yesterday and the English accented clerk was delightful. She called the seller and he apparently declined the return, stating it had been too long. Apparently this seller peddles lots of gear there. The friendly clerk defaulted to this corrupt sellers decision. We left very dissatisfied and said they could just dispose of the waders. To which the accented clerk snidely said they would recycle them...hmm? At least I have a a clear conscience about paying for goods they forgot to charge me for. One can only hope others don't fall prey to this Unconscionable dynamic duo! Beware!!!

Paddleboarding on Twin Lakes is not for the faint of heart! I would call myself an intermediate…read morepaddle boarder, and this was both a physically and mentally demanding experience for me. The owners were very friendly. We had booked an afternoon session, but it was pouring rain, so they told us we could wait it out and start later. They also do not charge a late fee if you go for over two hours, which we were grateful for because we got lost amongst the islands, and it was a difficult journey to find our way back and paddle against the currents. I was grateful they provided us dry bags and recommended that we bring extra layers. The weather changed really quickly as it was sunny when we started and later became overcast, rainy, and cold. It was very windy, and the currents were strong (at least for me). I also fell in the lake, so it was nice to have dry clothes to change into. Something that did throw us off was that the Google maps location takes you to the office, while the launch site where they actually have the rentals out is a completely different place about a 15 minute drive away, so we had to backtrack after we got to the office and read the sign with the correct address.

He was so nice that we decided to turn back after setting up camp to try their paddle boards. I've been paddling for years in FL. These are some of the best paddleboards I've come across. Excellent condition, stable and super comfy. The young lady that worked there (didn't capture any names sadly) was just as helpful and sweet. They pointed us to an excellent location with incredible views and we ended up there most of the day. These guys seriously made our trip! Can't thank y'all enough! Keep up the great work :-)

I reserved two mountain bikes from Crested Butte Sports and paid an extra $25 per bike for early…read morepickup so I could be ready for a big ride. Total anticipated bill was $304.50 for the two mountian bikes. When I picked them up, I was shown the Squidlock suspension lockout feature, but when I got home, it didn't work. I called the shop and was told the bike had a known failed Squidlock and they had no replacement available. This is frustrating because the suspension lockout was important for my planned climb on the 401 Trail Loop, and I could have rented from another shop that had fully functional bikes. When I returned the bike and explained my concern, Audi, the owner was defensive, saying most mountain bikes don't have Squidlock (true, but nearly all modern bikes have a suspension lockout). Regardless, renting out a bike with a known failed component without disclosing it is unacceptable. I was only offered $25 off the rental, which did not reflect the impact this issue had on my experience.

I, unfortunately fell and consequently was a bit late in returning the bike, but Michael was extremely kind and considerate of my situation. (Thank you Michael). The bikes worked wonderfully and Aspen is an amazingly beautiful place to go explore - especially on an ebike. Highly recommend this place, and it is very close to the bus RFTA.

Fantastic hike to the lake: Roughly 2.8 miles with about 2000 feet of elevation gain. Lovely vistas and streams the whole way. Wildflowers abound aplenty all along the trail if you hit it right. Great campsites ( please pack out everything and no wood fires). Great hike to Electric Pass with slight exposure. Dogs are allowed on the trail. Smallish parking lot Last mile is on bad road and a small car might have problems....just saying

Amazing views of cathedral peak and other mountains. At the lake there were backpackers that camped out over night to hike cathedral peak. Definitely a climb only for experienced people especially with all the snow. The parking lot is small and up a dirt road that low clearance cars can reach. The path is hard to find in the snow at the top but we just followed footprints and the sound of the water. There is no service on the road and ok the hike. Highly recommend this hike, especially when the lake isn't iced over.
