Paddleboarding on Twin Lakes is not for the faint of heart! I would call myself an intermediate paddle boarder, and this was both a physically and mentally demanding experience for me. The owners were very friendly. We had booked an afternoon session, but it was pouring rain, so they told us we could wait it out and start later. They also do not charge a late fee if you go for over two hours, which we were grateful for because we got lost amongst the islands, and it was a difficult journey to find our way back and paddle against the currents. I was grateful they provided us dry bags and recommended that we bring extra layers. The weather changed really quickly as it was sunny when we started and later became overcast, rainy, and cold. It was very windy, and the currents were strong (at least for me). I also fell in the lake, so it was nice to have dry clothes to change into. Something that did throw us off was that the Google maps location takes you to the office, while the launch site where they actually have the rentals out is a completely different place about a 15 minute drive away, so we had to backtrack after we got to the office and read the sign with the correct address. read more

4 of us arrived in Twin Lakes, not really knowing where the best spots for camping are or if we'll even find anything still available. Luckily ran into a good samaritan who happened to work at SUP & Cycle. He went above and beyond w helpful tips and directed us to the perfect camping location! He was so nice that we decided to turn back after setting up camp to try their paddle boards. I've been paddling for years in FL. These are some of the best paddleboards I've come across. Excellent condition, stable and super comfy. The young lady that worked there (didn't capture any names sadly) was just as helpful and sweet. They pointed us to an excellent location with incredible views and we ended up there most of the day. These guys seriously made our trip! Can't thank y'all enough! Very knowledgeable & nicest business owners! We decided to tool around the Leadville area after Labor Day; which apparently is when peak season ends. Found SUP & Cycle then called the next day. They were great explaining the inventory, weather conditions, where to put in & how to communicate with them in case anything came up. We were traveling in a small RV & unsure if tying down boards to the roof was feasible. Not only did Jeff & Caroline get 'er done but their demo helped teach us how to do it ourselves; which was important for returning back. This place is great! We were in Twin Lakes for a week and Jeff - the owner - has been super helpful and provided us plenty of suggestions of activities to do in the area! We also rented a "fiesta" paddleboard for a tour of the lake at sunset and several mountain bikes for a ride in the mountains. All equipment was in perfect conditions and Jeff helped us put everything on our cars. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for outdoor activities to do in the area (which is beautiful!) I used them for bicycles and water boards. A fantastic experience all around. A few hours of biking was great to soak up the views. The lake water was cold so don't fall in while standing on the board.... J & C were friendly and accommodating. Transportation of rentals are explained, and is operation of equipment. Their familiarity of the area was perfect. They told us about our options in the area and we picked what was our comfort level of adventure. My boyfriend and I were looking to paddle board at the Twin Lakes and found this place through a google search. We got super lucky! We rented the last SUP of the day. The owners were super nice and helpful. They took their time to explain how to SUP safely and tell us what their favorite spots to paddle board in the lake are. It was pretty late in the day, so they let us return the SUP after hours. When we brought it back, they were still there so they helped us unpack the SUP, paddles, and life jackets and we talked for a bit. Even though it was after hours, they were very patient with us and invited us in to the shop to sign their floor. Overall a great experience! I'm so glad this was my first SUP experience! read more

Jeff and Caroline are INCREDIBLE. My husband and I last minute asked about SUP availability the Sunday before Labor Day, thinking there was no way anything would be available. Thankfully, we found this gem of a place located in an old dance hall building right in town. They helped strap the gear to our car (even with bike racks #stacksonstacks style), provided K9 lifejackets for our two pups, gave great advice, and let us have the option to keep the boards until after sunset. Such a great experience! A group of us rented several two person paddle boards for a half day and had a blast paddling and just floating on the lake. They strapped the boards onto our cars for us and gave us a great recommendation of where to go on the lake. Very affordable and the employees there are really cool and helpful.
