While inquiring about the facilities and then leading-up to (and even during) our stay, Colin and Roy's communication was professional, informative and timely every time. Once we arrived, a welcome packet was waiting for us. It outlined the various amenities that were supplied, an explanation of the grounds, a breakfast menu, and their favorite local restaurants that were either vegan or catered heavily to vegans. At one point during the correspondence, my boyfriend mentioned that we would be visiting during his birthday month, and that detail was not missed. Waiting on the dining table was a fresh bouquet of flowers and a birthday card. The rooms were spotless, the shower was amazing and the living space was very comfortable, almost like home. They even supplied some vegan reading material along with information about the local sights. Also, Colin and Roy tried to make Rancho Vegano as environmentally friendly as possible (which I applaud), from the bamboo sheets to the silverware. The only "gripe" we had, was the silverware. While eco responsible, it was a bit flimsy when trying to use and I was worried that I'd break the forks. They acknowledged the feedback and they mentioned that they'll probably switch to metal silverware in the future. Each morning we were entertained by local wildlife as we had our delicious and fluffy blueberry pancakes and a breakfast burrito stuffed with veggies with chipotle sour cream and a side of fruit. Both meals were delicious and kept us full for our day's journeys. There were a few occasions where I got to talk with Roy as he was tending to their grounds. Listening to their backstory and journey to veganism, their passion and dreams for what they want Rancho Vegano to evolve to is quite infectious. I can't wait to see how they expand Rancho Vegano. On our last morning, Colin and Roy invited us to have our breakfast up on their rooftop deck. The view was amazing and was the perfect start for our journey home. They also baked us fresh banana bread for the road, which was thoroughly devoured. Our only regret was not staying there longer, but it gives us an excuse to venture back. Rancho Vegano is slice of paradise in East Tucson and we look forward to our next stay.

The views are beautiful, and the space is clean. The saltwater pool was spotless and was at the perfect temperature. Nicely sized freezer/fridge, a purified water dispenser, and the comfiest bed. If your looking to have a great place to start your long accent the Jeremiah Inn is the place to stay. Location, location, location! Not only that... but Beth is superb. We arrived after 9:00 PM and she was awaiting us. We planned an earlier start than the usual Breakfast time but Beth made sure we had fresh fruit, juice, coffee, eggs and muffins to properly fuel up before the ride. Beth came outside before we left and took our picture on her camera and then sent us the picture and personal note in the mail the next week. Nice touch. To top it all off Beth allowed us to leave our truck at her place and then return for a shower after 3:00 PM. It was 104 degrees by that time. That was the icing on the cake when we figured we would just be cleaning up for the drive back to Phoenix with a few handi-wipes. Our trip could not have been made and better. Perhaps only to have had time to sit and converse with Beth. What a delightful Lady she is. The Inn itself is quiet in it's surroundings, beautifully appointed and spotless. Having sold our large family home we were in wait mode for our new home build to be completed. John and Danielle were so gracious as we extended our stay plus moved to a larger casita to spread out a bit more. The casita (#6) had everything we needed. Two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen, dining room, and sizable comfortable living room. Our Dog Cooper enjoyed the freedom of the back yard plus nightly walks around the sizable property. While we didn't use the pool it looked inviting and had a nice cabana resort feel with lots of shade and lounges with curtains to divide sections for privacy. We will be recommending this lovely historical resort to all our friends. Check it out, it's a hidden gem but it won't stay hidden for long! Comfy beds with ample closet space in each room plus an overstuffed chair to relax in. Good lighting all throughout the home. Nearby activities ヘ Central to all Sabino Canyon activities as well as a trek up to Mount Lemon, not far to go for a fun outing downtown. The king bed & pillows proved to be one of the most comfortable of any of the hotels we stayed at for the 2 weeks we toured Arizona - including the luxury hotels! (topped only by the bed at Grand Canyon's Thunderbird Lodge - see our other reviews if interested) That's a big plus for this B&B. I was dismayed at the layer of fine dust over every surface - including the tops of the night stands which anyone would be bound to notice. There were a couple of dead flies on the window sills - in plain sight when we went to turn on the air conditioning - which rattled gustily but worked. I was happy to sit in the leather wing chair & prop my feet up on the ottoman with the a/c blasting away but my husband couldn't get comfortable on either side of the room due to the a/c by the chair & the wobbly table & broken lamp sitting in front of the a/c on the other side. He was also turned off by the stuffing showing through the cracked leather. The bare wall facing the bed with the wall mounted fan & large TV & cables stole some of the room's charm too. Despite us both being ~ 6' tall, the bedroom ceiling was fine. We thought our bathroom was across a private hall - ie no one else would see us but its in front of another bedroom & visible to all visitors to the floor. The sharp slant of the shower made taking a shower impossible for either of us. I tried taking a tub bath the first night & the last morning but despite letting the water run for 20 mins - there was NO hot or warm water to be had. The sink's hot water supply was almost instant. My husband's clearest memory is the difficulty navigating the corner of the staircase to our 2nd level bedroom. The staircase has a sharp turn to the left; 3 treads fan from a 2" barely there width to tippy toe only width against the wall - too big a distance to just skip over. The room had a keurig machine altho sparse supplies - which was fine - we travel with our own. The mini frig was a welcome sight. My husband went down to the exterior building that houses the kitchen both mornings for a bite to eat - which he enjoyed. The hostess was friendly & very chatty. We did have trouble finding the house when we arrived after dark - couldn't see any house numbers but a nice neighbor pointed us to the correct house. Parking is on the street right in front. The price was inexpensive at $120/night. Having a comfortable night's rest is so important but there were too many negatives that are management-oriented for us to recommend this hotel.

They made us scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, and blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries. The Big Blue House is also located in a great area, within walking distance of campus and many bars and restaurants. Hands down one of the best bed and breakfasts' I've stayed at.

Our friends had great wedding coordinators and vendors so everyone we encountered was super friendly. There were two sets of bathrooms readily accessible from where the reception was held.
