I am not really the type of girl that goes clubbing but I can imagine someone who does would like the the clothes sold here. Hope and Havannah sell some unique looking party dresses at pretty cheap prices. Mind you, the quality does not look so great but if you are looking for a party dress you probably will only wear a few times, this shop has a lot of those. Amongst the party-gear is some cute casual wear. Again, these are the the greatest quality but the prices reflect that. Hope and Havannah is not a bad boutique and for a store that small, they have managed to cram a nice selection of affordable wear.

They should really change the name of this place to Homebodies…read more Formally known as Copperart, The copper and brass products slowly left the shelves and were replaced with everyday, contemporary and fun household items....And voila! Homeart was born. Located in the distinctly suburban Aspley, this place is a hit with mums (and that rare man who digs homewares.) Crammed on every shelf the products range from cookware, manchester and outdoor leisure gear to fitness products, bathmats, toys and electric salt and pepper mills. I've grown up around this store, but when I came back to it recently I was surprised at how small it was. (Or maybe I've had a freakish growth spurt without realizing?) In anycase, if you are around the hypermarket area this little shop is well worth a pop-in.

Stock availability is very good and sales associates are helpful when asked (special shoutout goes to Bosco who's an absolute rockstar!!!). The selection of trench coats is quite good and the store stocks a good range of heritage and seasonal coats. If you live in Brisbane it's worth a visit at least once.

Tucked away within the Queensland College of Arts, you'll be forgiven for walking past Oxlades two…read moreor three times before noticing it. This specialist art shop is open to the public although QCA staff and students receive a 10% discount. They carry a wide range of fine art products from oil paints to charcoals and a variety of canvases, drawing paper and sketch books. They also carry multiple brands of the same product to cater for the emerging artist who may not want to pay a premium for professional products while they're still training. Although they don't stock much in terms of craft products and they have a limited range of instructional art books, Oxlades is well worth a sticky beak for the hobby artist.

Oxlades Art Centre at QCA sells a good variety of art supplies, but the stock isn't stellar…read more Because it's such a tiny store and more catered for on campus emergency supplies, i.e. when a student is in dire need for new brushes, or they've run out of a certain paint colour, they can just duck downstairs and head back to class. But if you're shopping as an outsider, which I was, I found the stock and service a little underwhelming. I was after a specific type of paper for an art project I was working on and the staff member either didn't know what I was on about, or didn't know whether or not they stocked it. That said, they did have a great variety of inks (if that's what you're after...I know I was!) and weren't bothered that I spent a bit of time there trying to figure out exactly what blue (they sold many tints and shades) I needed. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're after an art supplies store with a giant range, but if you're in the area and dying for a tube of paint or a can of fixative, by all means duck in and have a browse.

It's pretty big and they've got a good amount of stuff here, and I suppose I'm unfairly comparing it to other completely adorable children's clothing stores I've seen which are pretty pricey (Sugar Land's prices are quite reasonable), but it's just not as cute as it should be considering what it sells.

There's the Suitcase Rummage and Finders Keepers Market but the Young Designer Markets at Southbank remains my favourite. I once applied for a stall here when I was a second year QCA student and got turned down. A few weeks later, I actually walked down to the markets, saw the quality of work on display and nearly died of mortification for thinking I was in the same league. This market will bring out the bowerbird in anyone with their shiny buttons, badges, feathers and beads. There are also other original fashion designers (some fantastic dresses and funny t-shirts), homewares (keep an eye out for the funky lampshades with bird prints) and girlish hair accessories that will tempt even boys. So mark it down on your iphone and androids - first Sunday of the month. See you there.

Unlike most other markets (like the Southbank markets just next door) which almost always have the same stallholders with the same products, these markets can vary from month to month. Of course there are the regular stall holders but even some of these have different one-off items each time. It's great for finding gifts with a difference, clothes from up and coming young designers and plenty of art and craft items.

It's like shopping in Best & Less for your kids clothing... but it's all kids clothing. No adults... it's fantastic. You can get everything from newborn to bigger kids here, accessories, hats, shoes even, blankets, beanies... it's like a cheaper Pumpkin Patch, and their clothes are pretty good quality if you ask me. They have some pretty nice 3 pack short sleeve onesies for $9 which is a bargain really. They're usually about $30 for 1 at Pumpkin Patch, so gone are the days you will suffer at the hands of expensive childrens clothing (Yes, you SEED and you Pumpkin Patch, and to an extent, cheaper than even you Cotton On Kids!). I love this place, you can get some cool T-Shirts for your boys and princess skirts and dresses for your gals. It's got it all in my opinion. And thank you for opening one in Mt Ommaney!
