Before entering either area is a fenced entrance so you have a moment to leash your dogs without the pups running off into the rest of the park. A trail is by the entrance, so this is a perfect spot to sit and rest.

This is an absolutely reworked park. I used to worry about bringing the kids here because it was…read moregorgeous and made all out of wood, but it was hard to keep an eye on them. It had gotten rundown after all wood only last so long. They voted to refurbished the park and this is what they ended up with. This is nice as well almost as nice lake Helen Park. I love all of the seating, has canopies over it for people to sit and they've got all kinds of equipment. The kids can play on climb on and explore. Young kids to old people are hanging out here. It's for everyone. There's just so much nice wide open room that you don't feel crowded here there's trash cans by everything where you could throw your trash away after you're done snacking or drinking or whatever you happen to be doing at the time but the nice thing about the Kidzone is it so wide open you can see everything now I cannot wait until summer to see how the little miniature splash pad is. They also have the tennis courts and a basketball goal for you to play basketball.

We didn't stay here super long as I started getting anxious about the long drive back home. It's a public park. Free parking. There was a playground. A decent sized lake. Walking/running path. I stopped here mainly because the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center is just a few hundred yards away. Go touch grass! Your brain and heart will thank you.

The playground equipment ranges from vintage to new and there is a LOT, which is fun. There is a lot of shade and a lot of seating and there is a bathroom available. There are bird houses all over the park, too. I took 1 star away because there are some safety issues. Some of the walls are crumbling and there are also some uncapped pipes with sharp edges sticking up right in the middle of the newer playground. My daughter tumbled over one and hurt herself, not badly, and I shudder to think of a toddler landing on one of those. I called and left a message with the parks dept and hopefully they will handle it quickly.

Yes we travel…read more What this very nice dog park has: Small section Large dog section Water Trash cans Bags provided Excellent parking everything needed and easily found (just keep driving, it's at the end). Freeway visible from the park. It's a little isolated, but that doesn't bother me. Nice staff taking trash out! Nice patrons with their dogs. People are friendly and talk to you. In both sections there are dig marks under the far tractor gates (opposite parking lot) where dogs can get out. I would fix that if it were me. It appears that big dogs go in the small dog section as is evidenced by lack of picking up dog poop. It's not terrible, but the 3-4 big piles I picked up in a small area speaks. It's not hard people, pick up after your dogs. Since my dog wrote a book on dog parks (it's a funny, yet practical guide) I figure I should leave the owners of a park something they could improve on. Sooooo...... One comment on something that should get fixed (#1 issue at a lot of dog parks so this park is not alone): If you are going to allow pools for dogs (they are not always allowed due to disease, and people waste water) throw large, course rocks down in the pool drainage area. With grass nearby you might need to section it off. It's easy, it's cheap. Why do it? Stagnant water spreads disease, it's messy, someone could slip if it's not easily visible. Example. Right now the small dog section is very wet, but you can't see it. Slip hazard. Big section it is an all out pond. If it were my dog park, and if you insist on pools, I would only allow small pools that can only fill 1-2 inches. A 75 year old person should be able to dump the pool themselves to get clean water! If they can't it's too big. Break out the drill and make holes up higher so it can't fill much. The dogs just need their pads to wet to cool off, and they can still roll in it if you want that. Small dog section could get away with a hot water heater aluminum drainage pan!! That's my 2 cents.

One highlight was clearly Little Niagara, because the place was packed with locals and visitors all enjoying the cool springs, the waterfalls, etc. Can't wait to come back and explore a bit more.

Wasn't much water in the spring but the creek was flowing with a heavy smell of sulpher. Also stopped by the Buson viewing area but did not see any. Not sure how many are left here. We drove around thru the park nd seen a deer eating along the road. Wasn't scared at all. There are several swimming holes and small waterfall/rapids areas with plenty of camping spots. There were a lot of folks out and camping. The park is about 10k acres sitting in the start of the Arbuckle Mountains. Great day trip.

I actually came close to a prairie dog which I thought was a groundhog but I ran, (ironically I'm born on groundhog's day; does that even mean anything? lol). There is a posting not to feed them because they can get sick. I think someone must have fed one of them because he was lying pretty much lifeless in the grass. Po thang! There's lots of camping areas, group picnic sites, a boat ramp, disc golf, walking trails (um negative for me), equestrian camping, a dining hall, swimming area, fishing pier, parking everywhere and lots of BUGS!!!!
