Ended up seeing all the amazing reviews for Mountain Based and asked my family if they wanted to go too. Everyone was super excited and the Mighty 5 national parks hotel tour did not disappoint!!! Tyler and Eric were hands down - amazing. Great drivers, funny, attentive, able to split themselves into infinite pieces to cover all the different speeds of my family members hiking. Tyler even knew I desperately wanted a photo at delicate arch but my wobbly fear of heights legs would not take me over to the photo spot so he offered to escort me there and back and be our photographer! The drives between parks were not bad at all - plenty of gas station stops along the way. The restaurants they took us to were delicious and the employees of the restaurants treated us like gold. The weather was a little toasty in June but it was still GREAT fun. Lots of history, information, facts, tips, safety from our guides. When we asked them for specific things like - taking a group photo at each of the National Park signs - the guides didn't grumble - they made the photos fun! And they remembered! We ended up at 3 unique and delicious stops I wouldn't have normally thought to try, and each was wonderful! At Antica Roma, I enjoyed Mushroom ravioli with truffle. So smooth... Pleiku Vietnamese introduced me to a fabulous Chicken basil. It had a bit of a kick and I worked around the onions and peppers but the chicken was to die for! Had a subtle crisp the was great! At Himalayan kitchen I got to sample several Indian bites: Coconut veggie curry, chicken tika masala and lamb curry with naan bread. All great but the chicken tika is unforgettable and the yogurt sauce for the naan so fresh and tasty! I enjoyed hearing Mo share our local history but even more than that, I loved learning about the lives the man changes thru his other businesses! We wish we would have known before we booked with them. They canceled our trip and they owe us over $6,400. They told us we would get our money back before the end of March and here we are in April and we can no longer get a hold of them. They do not answer emails or the phone. Others have posted that the business has moved, more likely been abandoned as they probably are in the process of changing their name again. There are dozens of complaints with the Better Business Bureau but still no positive results. We are now having to take up a dispute backed by our credit card company to go after them and if that doesn't work we will have to lawyer up.

We spent most of the time in the van and when we did stop at the locations, we weren't able to go inside to tour any of them or even use a bathroom at them, we just stood in the driveways to learn about them. I admire her passion for teaching, but we cannot for the life of us figure out how our $3000 was spent. The wine was limited to an ounce every time, and whenever we asked for a second "glass" the lady pouring would say "well we want to make sure everyone gets some!" - the "snacks" were two tiny pieces of cheese inside of a ziplock baggie and there is no place to use any restroom throughout the course of the entire tour... mainly because the tour takes place only in a van and standing in driveways. For $3000, a nice suggestion would've been a charcuterie spread INSIDE of one of the locations with some tastings and every person at that price should at the very least have been able to go home with a bottle of wine from the tour. I give her credit for starting up a creative business in an extremely competitive tourist city, but I can't in good faith allow anyone else to pay so much money to go into this expecting a luxury experience, and end up getting yelled at by a bus driver and having to sneak around an old hospital just to pee. I really liked her as a person and hope she can take this advice and use it to work on creating a better experience for all.
