Picnic structures each have 2 tables and a bbq. Structures are spread out. This is great for parties. Several parties may be going on at once, and they won't interfere with eachother. Volleyball court is on grass. Several basketball hoops. There is a handicap accessible ramp down to the basketball courts. Tennis courts are towards the back of the park. There are quite a few courts. Playground is newer. There are lots of places to climb, spin around, and even a percussion play area. Parts of the playground are shaded. Playground has many accessible areas. On top of all that, there is also a field. Field is large enough for a game of soccer. Parking is located in a lot or along the street on W. Sweetwater.

Kept clean and well maintained near a residential area. I think they have 4 cabanas which is also nice. Most parks don't have as many. I guess the senior citizens of Buckeye aren't as active on Yelp, so I am happy to be the first to review it as it really needs acknowledging ;) As a guest of a resident here, I am able to get a guest pass for this recreation center to use the gym and pool area for $3 a day. This is such a deal. The gym has weights, treadmills, eliptical machines, weight machines, etc. It opens at 5:30 a.m. which I took advantage of as I am an early riser and want to get a work out in before it becomes 100 degrees outside here. It has nice locker rooms with showers, lockers, sauna, bathrooms and entrance to their spa and massage area. While the gym is a nice facility, the pool area is what really stands out here. I was told that it was large and had a hot tub and lots of areas to lounge. That really does not do it justice. It is an awesome facility. There is one ginormous pool that is separated into a lap pool area, where pool volleyball games are also conducted at times and exercise classes, I believe, also. This pool area connects to the other pools which include a shaded area with bench seating for lounging in the pool, the large main pool area by the flowing water fountain coming from the huge hot tub above and there is a lazy river area to the side where you can float along happily. There are several areas surrounding the pool with reclining deck chairs and tables and chairs with umbrellas. Since this is a retirement complex, there are set hours for children to use the pool from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deepest part of this pool is 5'8" which only spans a small portion of this huge pool. The majority of the depth is 3'6" deep for safety reasons for the residents and guests, I would assume. It is salt water/chlorine maintained, so buoyancy is easy here and as a lot of the pool is pretty shallow, I floated around on my back alot through the areas of the pool. There are strong jets along the perimeter of a lot of the pool, so you can be carried around quite easily. There are noodles available outside of the pool for floatation aid, if you desire. The concierge and check-n staff here at the rec center are very nice. As a guest, you are required to show your guest pass and ID when you check in to use the facilities here. A special shout out to Kay at the check-in desk, who is always so pleasant, kind and helpful when we have checked in here. You can buy a chilled bottle of water here for $1, also, at the check-in desk, if you want one. Sage Recreation Center is such a wonderful facility for the residents here at Sun City Festival in Buckeye but also a great one for guests of the residents to take advantage of, also, at the very reasonable guest pass rate!

I spent New Year's Day morning trying out this course on my way through Phoenix. It's an 18 or 27…read morebasket course, depending on how eager you are to trudge through dust and gravel. We had a hard time finding the practice basket but it's directly to the right of the first tee pad (behind the playground/picnic area if you're looking from the parking lot). The course itself was set with the best of intentions, using the hill to challenge us in throwing upwards/downwards and maintenance buildings as obstacles. The desert shrubbery, while not too much trouble to throw over or around, was similar across the entire course. It didn't make for a super exciting round until we hiked halfway up the hill around basket 10. When I was there, every single basket was set out, some with cones/flags for visibility and others just camouflaged into the landscape. It made figuring out the course a little difficult and we ended up playing into other people's baskets on accident not realizing we were aiming for the wrong ones. While the pads and baskets are well maintained, the map at the park is a little worse for wear and difficult to follow. The tee pads each have their own maps too, pointing to the next basket which was helpful. Lots of walkers and dogs going through the course, but just keep yelling fore and have a little patience! I liked the big field to practice throwing distance drivers without losing them on the course. I didn't like the amount of trash and cans/bottles littered around the course. But we encountered friendly folks and clean bathrooms, and it's a perfectly average course in the area.

They have a water…read moreslide, a sloped entry to the pool for little ones, a popular seating area kods like to run circles in to get the water spinning, a lap and open swim area with a deep end, plus diving boards. There is a convenient snack area. They offer swim lessons and swim teams for older kids. There are many awesome experiences we had here with movie nights, holiday parties and watching fireworks. You can even have a birthday party here. They just custome painted the front of the building. It was so much fun to watch them paint it while visiting the park. There is plenty of free parking.
