I have been coming to riot for a few months now. I see The very talented Jessica Ellis who not only is talented in her craft, but demonstrates such knowledge for her field. She is always challenging herself to be a better hair dresser and for that I feel 1000% confident in her hands. I love the space of the salon as the hair dressers are spaced out nicely enough where we are close, but not suffocated. Everyone here is so friendly including the Akon manager Whitney! Both these ladies have made me feel so special and welcome. Not only taking a special interest in the needs of hair but as well as my personal life. Recently they have been hiring more newly licensed hairdressers has equaled me having inadequate or even bad hair results and customer service. My most recent appointment, I asked for a haircut with a U shape. To mean longer in back that gradually shortens as you move towards face. This is a very NORMAL hair term. My newly licensed hairdresser did the opposite and my hair was longer as it moved towards face. In addition, their people skills lacked experience. At one point they even snapped at me. All this and still being charged priced I think should be reserved for more experienced professionals. read more

First time going here and they took me in right away. My stylist was Lisa and we had great conversation. I showed her the haircut I wanted and she did a really good job and get it pretty much where I wanted it. First time he shouted I really didn't care for the cell that she gave me the dishes because he thought that's what I wanted and is soon as I told her no I didn't like it she immediately fix it that hesitation. I like places like that she made me feel very comfortable there. I looked up on Google the best places to get your hair done near me. They were number three that popped up the first two I called wanted to charge $300 for a haircut and died job and they could give me in for 34 days. I called this salon and they immediately take me in and they're price for a haircut not even closer to the other people they were so much more reasonable and it was worth every dime. I really wanted to love this place because the girl who did my hair was so so sweet. And I probably should of said something before I left but I honestly just wanted to get out of there. This was my first time in years having my hair colored. So when they told me (ahead of time- they are very upfront about pricing) that it would be $230 for all over color (no highlights etc.) I thought maybe salon prices have just gone up like everything else. However, my hair came out much darker than I wanted (my natural color is dark brown and it came out black). And I left with hair color stains everywhere. I had to scrub my face with rubbing alcohol, baking soda and dawn multiple times to even fade it. It still hasn't come off completely 2 days later. The people here are so nice but I guess I just expected more of a professional look for the price. These pictures are in my car in the parking lot of the salon. again, nice kind people. I'm so happy that I found Riot Salon! I looked online earlier in the year for a salon near my home that could correct color job I received at another salon in the area. Haley was able to get me in the same day that I called, spent time explaining what needed to be done, discussed what she thought would look/work best, and most importantly listened to what I wanted. The results were amazing and I could not have been happier with outcome. The vibe and look of the salon reminds me of what I would see when I lived in Downtown Houston, not something you'd expect in Seabrook, TX. Haley and her team are all warm, accommodating, and you get a sense that they all really love what they do and where they work! Th next best thing about Riot Salon (of course with the stylists being #1) are the products offered. Aveda and Kevin Murphy are hands down my favorite hair products I have ever used. Paige was my stylist and listened to what I wanted as well as made some recommendations. She recommended the B3 treatment for my hair and oh am I ever so grateful she did! It was the best thing my hair has seen in years!! It made my hair so soft, silky, and healthy not to mention smell like a lil piece of heaven. First time I've had my hair permed ever, so I was having issues understanding now to maintain and style my hair. One, they use the hair products for sale on their customers and then put back for purchase. 3 separate people witnessed on separate occasions. I purchased hair product that was half left. I was already never planning to return due to very poor atmosphere and cafeteria like room but this was the icing on the cake. $60 for a basic long hair trim? Give me a break. Never again! Since it will not allow me to reply I will reply in this updated review. First, let me make myself clear we have only been to your salon two times and when we went to the first one and Seabrook we Did not pay $60 for a haircut. Second of all when we came from Tara's prior salon we did not pay $60 for a haircut. So either this is Tara's markup or this is your overhead forcing a markup. I'm not sure where the overhead is because it's about as simple and plain as a salon can get. Third, if you mean to tell me that at the front of your salon by the entrance and exit door that this is a place where your technicians come and grab product, put in their hands, put back on shelf and go back and put on clients hair is something I misunderstood? I know where your technicians mix color and grab product from and there is a big difference between the locAtions. Please don't try and minimize what was witnessed. And if my daughter paid $60 on the last haircut it was hidden in the overall cost of the half used product I bought when exiting. When I called and told the girl at the front desk, she told me to return it and when I got there she whispered to me that the girls do it all the time. I knew right then I wouldn't be buying product there again. And sending me a private message calling me a liar is quite tacky and ballsy. Accountability is key when being a successful business owner. By calling customers liars and claiming this never happened is quite disappointing. Curse at you? You are crazy! Never did I curse at you. I said the word ASS? So harsh!!! You private messaged me saying that what I said NEVER happened so in turn you are calling me a liar. The truth is the truth and because you can't accept this, that's on you. Stop dragging this on.... This shows your maturity and lack there of. I think you need to sign yourself with some continued education classes on how to deal with customers nicely and respectful rather than retaliatory. Ps, when I returned the product I didn't repay, she just swapped it out. Just because your employee did this, now it didn't happen? Nice! read more
