I made the call and was honest about the box dye. Bobo was also very honest and let me know that she would do the best she could but mostly importantly she wanted to make sure my hair would not be damaged. She truly cares about your hair and wants to make sure you still get as close to what you want. I'll be honest I was scared the box dye would come out during the bleaching process and make it impossible to look nice. However Bobo knows exactly what to do and worked her magic. I had really contemplated not writing this review because as a person, Bobo is so sweet and probably very skilled. Her scheduling and attention to detail is so seriously lacking though, and I am so irritated by the situation now that I would like to save someone else from that trouble. I messaged Bobo and explained what I had wanted (I wanted color without bleaching) and even sent her pics of my hair. She said "I got you." I sent a deposit, made the appointment and had high hopes. The day before, I messaged her to ask if she could possibly squeeze me in as I had to change childcare arrangements and she said she could mind you on the same message thread we both can see. I came in and she appears to know who she's working with. I sit down, and it's like we started in a blank slate. I told her what I had wanted, again, because I had already explained in the text, and she said no, I can't do this for you. Go back to your previous person. While I appreciate the honesty, that absolutely means she didn't read anything I had told her on the message. Why would I go to her for cut and then go back to my old person for color? If I had known she couldn't do it without bleach, which I explicitly stated, I wouldn't have wasted my time driving my kids around in the rain and coming to her. She's also very high volume so she's trying to get you in and out of her chair as quickly as possible. I very hesitantly just cut my hair since I was already on the chair but was so confused and disappointed at the entire experience. read more

I'm writing an updated review just because I am SO happy with my services from BoBo! I have already gone to her 3 times. Twice to have my hair trimmed and dyed. Once to have it just trimmed about 6 months after I had it dyed. She is so honest about her opinions for your hair, and I think she does such a great job of giving each client the attention that they deserve to have their hair done perfectly. She also does such an amazing job of explaining how to take care of your hair, and she just makes you feel so beautiful afterwards. I am seriously so happy with how she did my hair this second time around, and I know I will keep coming back to her! I have super thick Asian hair, and I know it's a little harder to work with in general. I love that she was able to finish EVERYTHING (trim, bleach, dye, etc.) all in a reasonable time-frame. She was able to do such an amazing job with the balayage for my hair, and made it last for an entire year without looking crazy. The way she does my hair also doesn't make it come out brassy or weird either. My hair was still able to last an entire year of being healthy and the color blended out really well as my hair grew out. Seriously, how incredible is she?! She honestly makes me feel so comfortable when I come here, and I love how personable she is with everyone too. I do live a little far from this hair salon, but seriously coming just for her is SO worth it!!! I HIGHLY recommend BoBo to anyone!!! read more

I've been coming here for the past 2 years getting my hair colored by Bobo. She is amazing! I've never had anyone get my dark hair to the ashy-blonde color that I want. I usually leave salons with brassy hair. However, Bobo gets me to the shade I want and it takes just one session for me. I'm specific about what I want; I always show her pictures. Absolutely loved it here. Came here on a Saturday Bobo was the one who did my hair and she was wonderful. I had a cut and wash which was only $50 and I tipped $20. Bobo is completely honest and transparent about her abilities and talks you through the entire haircut as I saw with myself and other customers before me. Bobo cut my hair and did an okay job. My regular hair stylist was out sick and I ended up going to her. Went in with mid-back length and left with shoulder blade length, 3-3.5 inches was cut off when I was initially told and agreed to only 2 inches. Overall, she did a good job of layering but i'm very unhappy with how much length I lost. read more
