The acting and music was great but I could not get past a male playing a lead female role. It just ruined it for me. I felt like I was at a woke college campus playhouse where the players were alphabet soup people parading around. Not sure if I can go see another play again if they are going to be doing this to all the plays. The only way I could honestly rate this is if there were categories to rate separately so I was restricted to giving it a 1-star rating. Again, the acting and music was great, and it was entertaining but I walked out of there wondering what the hell did I just witness? I just don't understand how less than 1% of the population has to ruin everything for the rest of the 99%.

Had a wonderful chat with volunteer Bob at the visitor center before heading out on the 3+ mile…read morenature drive. He gave us some tips about where we might see certain types of birds and he was absolutely spot on!! We spotted a pair of bald eagles in the tree line and after a 5 minute wait or so, they treated us to a flight right over the car to soar over the water on the other side of the drive. It is absolutely amazing that this wonderful resource is free to enjoy. The visitors center is accessible to those using mobility equipment and the drive is a wonderful way to enjoy the wildlife without a hike.

Its not too big or too small, its a perfect size to have a few coffee shops, real parks, bookstores and more. There's a lot of water around. Lakes full in fact. This played a major role as the town developed. The early settlers knew water would be critical, and they decided to build here. Seneca Falls became a village around 1830. They built canal locks around the rapids, and by 1830 the canal was connected to the Erie Canal, which of course lead to much larger markets. Seneca Falls is named after rapids (falls), and some companies located there for the waterpower the falls would generate. The railroad connected them to more of the world by 1840. There are companies that remain in Seneca Falls today, some having worldwide impact like Gould Pumps. In addition to industry, there were some social movements happening in Seneca Falls. There was significant support for the abolitionists, there were stops for the Underground Railroad, and of course the first women's convention was held here, making Seneca Falls known as the "Birth of the Women's Rights Movement". Today its a tourist attraction, some come for the history. Others for the lakes. More for the Montezuma Refuge. Still others to visit students at the Chiropractic College, one of the best in the US. Its also a great place to visit "just because". Cute town, easy walking, friendly. I saw a sign that said it was also the inspiration for the town in "Its a Wonderful Life", not sure of that's true though. 5 stars because these small towns are great to visit. From a parade, to food, to shops and vendors, to cosplayers walking around the street in costume, this festival made for an enjoyable day. There was quite a variety of things to do including visiting the bridge that looks just like the one for a movie, with a real life saving a suicide attempt story to boot. We chatted with Bert, who was out writing tickets on cars and getting to know all the visitors. There were free horse drawn carriage rides, and free tastings of roasted chestnuts which I had never had before. The It's a Wonderful Life Museum is open and was packed as people checked out the information, pictures, and toys they had. Besides the many things to do the big appeal of this festival is just how much it feels like the real Bedford Falls. So many shops opened up their doors and offered free snacks and free hot chocolate bars to visitors and locals alike. Everyone was so friendly, from the local townspeople and vendors to the guests and visitors as well. To me, this encompasses the exact feel of the movie. There were some great food options, from Mrs. Martini's spaghetti dinner and trivia which we missed as it was on Friday night, to local restaurants bringing out tents and serving their best chilis, hotdogs and burgers, and tacos outside, there was something for everyone. The bars and restaurants were also fully staffed indoors if you needed a break from the cold. My husband and I really enjoyed our time in Bedford Falls, if you are looking for something fun and different to do on the 2nd weekend in December, make the trip out to Seneca Falls to feel the It's a Wonderful Life spirit!

Having seen the movie many times, I was overjoyed to visit the museum, which contains a treasure trove of unique photos and artifacts related to the movie. While many of the items are replicas not used in the actual film, it's still a perfect place for fans of the movie to kill a bit of time perusing pictures of the cast members, some of which who visit the museum annually for events. Admission is a modest $5 donation, and they have a cute gift shop with items for purchase. Staff on site at the museum cannot have been any friendlier, and were willing to let us stay a few minutes even past the closing time as we had arrived shortly before they closed for the day. There is a perfect photo op spot to commemorate your bisit to "Bedford Falls." This particular museum is located in a temporary spot through 2026 while the original permanent museum is undergoing major construction and expansion. While I'm sure the permanent museum complete with theater.would be a perfect 5 out 5 rating from me, this temporary museum space was still a very enjoyable experience for me. If you are a fan of It's a Wonderful Life, make it a point to visit this museum in Seneca Falls. There is a bridge in town which served as inspiration for the bridge scene in the movie.

The museum itself is a small spot that is chock full of great photos and interesting stories about the movie and its cast, many of which were new to me. I learned some interesting tidbits and could definitely feel the care and appreciation with which the museum is curated. It is, though, very small, and surprisingly lacking in actual memorabilia--as explained up front, only 5 known movie props exist, most with private collectors. Perhaps unfair, but I guess I was expecting something a bit more. Still and all, worth a visit if you are visiting scenic Seneca Falls and the amazing Women's History National Park nearby. Make sure to walk over to the nearby bridge after your museum visit, which is definitely a convincing piece of this town's claim to be the "real" Bedford Falls.
